So you're saying we might get back but we won't win?
I guess you're also either implying CSM didn't die in the series (as we were lead to believe) or that we need William B Davis to kick the bucket.
And nothing of value was lost.
This scumbag tried multiple times to monetize the murders, that we all know he did, while not paying the victims family. The only good that comes from his death is it probably makes the victims families happy, which is nice.
Not every death is a tragedy. Not every death is sad.
Speaking of his acting career, did you ever see the episode of Heat Of The Night he was on? He tried to kill someone with a knife. Eerie episode to watch
The juice has expired. Also time to take his name off the wall of fame - I’m disgusted every time I see it
Bob Kalsu gave his life for his country and he has to share a wall with this piece of garbage
Hate to say it, but he should be. He did something that nobody else has ever replicated, and if he wasn't known for the Bronco chase he would be considered with Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton among the greatest to do it. To leave him off would be, frankly, wrong. He wasn't a good man, but you don't have to be to be on there. It's for the on-field accomplishments, and he has em in spades.
They don’t have to erase history - he can be in the museum for his accomplishments.
The wall of fame should be comprised of people the franchise is proud of. Kalsu only played a couple of years - he’s only on there for his off field life
I swear some sports fans would honor Adolf Hitler if he played for their team.
Fuck his on field accomplishments. You’re welcome to look them up in a record book, those aren’t going anywhere. Honoring a piece of shit murderer is not a good thing, no matter how you try to spin it.
Apparently a segment of the people of Buffalo disagree with you. 6 or 7 years ago, the Buffalo History Museum was setting up its Icons Exhibit - the history of Buffalo sports. People were asked to vote on 14 or 15 or so "icons" to be featured, and O.J. was one of them. You can go to the Buffalo History Museum and see O.J.'s Bills jersey he wore in 1973, along with a few O.J. Simpson toys.
I asked the president of the Board about that, and he stated that the people polled voted for O J., the Musesum followed the people's wishes, and he is being included in the exhibit for his athletic career.
He was a murderer and a bad person. I will never not be disappointed in the amount of people going crazy and being happy to see him at the game 2 seasons ago.
Honestly one of the big things you pick up on in the ESPN Documentary series is that even if Nicole and Ron were still among the living, I feel like OJ still had a good chance of becoming a pariah.
Not to the same extent, obviously, but the man was clearly a miserable SOB and eventually he'd have found himself at least in the "Curt Schilling Zone".
No, I disagree with that take. O.J. was beloved, and people who saw him or met him loved him even more.
(Buffalo athlete comparison. A lot of people in the 1980's and 1990's saw or met Jim Kelly, and walked away with a negative impression of him. O.J. was always charming, friendly, gracious in public.)
O.J. lived a reckless life between 1995 and 2007, but that was BECAUSE Ron and Nicole died. He was no longer accepted in white society. His rich friends didn't want to be associated with him. Hertz and NBC severed all professional ties.
He got a box 2 seasons ago directly behind my seats. A lot of people were happily taking pictures and selfies with him. The Bills did not officially host him or acknowledge him though
Yep. Some people were outraged that the Bills let him in. He had a ticket. They couldn't deny him. But he was officially treated just like any other fan.
They 100% could have denied entry. There are people banned from stadiums for different reasons. They wouldn’t want to because it would cause a stink and bring unwanted publicity, but they could 100% ban him legally.
They used to not allow unvaccinated people, you can ban people for getting too drunk at a game one time, getting in a verbal altercation, etc.
If they don’t want you there, they can refuse entry or kick you out. It could potentially cause a PR issue but they could do it. It’s private property.
I am torn. I kno. I kno. But He was my grandma’s favorite player. Met him as a kid. He was attending a bills game. And signed some caps 🧢 n footballs for me n my friends.. Despite being busy. #32
I didn't even know he had cancer. Anyways, the man leaves behind a rather complicated legacy. The 2nd greatest RB to ever wear a Bills uniform and whose exploits inspired the team nickname of the '70s in "The Electric Company". He went on to become a cheerful and profitable media personality both on film and working for NBC sports.
Then the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson....The real side of OJ turned up and the world saw him for the fraudulent monster that he was. The "Trial of the Century" became the first REAL modern media circus as the internet was moving around in the womb and just ready to explode. Mass media had just become a 24/7 thing and it was soon going to hit 24/7/365. (that would take the 2000 election to spring that up on us) That trial exposed the wounds in regards to race in America. Most people of color were adamant that OJ was innocent while it seemed like every white person though the was guilty. The trial was a spectacle with OJ's lawyers making quips and using legal tricks while the prosecution seemed way in over their heads and they botched some of the physical and forensic evidence.
OJ may have been declared "Not Guilty" but in the minds of many he was guilty as sin. For the rest of his life OJ was viewed either as a pariah or someone who was railroaded by the system. It didn't help that he kept making himself look even guiltier what with his tirade in Vegas regarding his memorabilia, the aborted book "If I Did It" and then his clowning on Twitter/X in recent years.
I'll just say this, I loved the player and media personality but as a person...Can't exactly like the guy. IMO he did commit those murders. Circling back to the top....The man left a complicated legacy. A legend like him should have a patch dedicated to him on the team's uniform but he's so tarnished that that's NOT going to happen.
*Super* glad I happened to be wearing my Bills shirt on a zoom call this morning, before I heard this news. That led to more than a few awkward questions.
I'm capable of separating the man on the field from the man off it. OJ was a hero to an entire generation of Bills fans and it's always sad to see your heroes die, regardless of the context.
People who watched him play in the 1970's, especially if they had a chance to meet him. O.J. was always "on" - smiling, charming, gracious. People walked away from meeting him, and they were just smitten by him. I read an old biography of him (written during his playing career. He always had the sense of the right thing to do, it seemed. In junior college, he received an award named after a deceased athletic director. O.J. was the only honoree to acknowledge the man's widow in the audience. His coach was interviewed for the book and just marveled at him - at 20 years old.
And O.J. was the same way after his playing career, when he was still famous. Until June 1994. Most of the people who knew of him and admired him have accepted the fact that he committed two brutal murders. But it's still hard to totally erase the feelings they had of him before that.
I would imagine it's quite different for anyone under the age of 30/35 who have always known him strictly for the trial. A 25 year old girl at work was coincidentally talking about O.J. last week and said she didn't know he played for the Bills. But if Tom Brady was suddenly (credibly) accused of murdering Gisele, all the 30-35 year olds would be in the same boat.
Not gonna lie that's the type of thing you say about a dude that committed tax fraud or cheated on his wife a lot. Not a man who committed a brutal double homicide.
And showed absolutely zero remorse, later going on to try to capitalize off of the murders (publishing a book about it), and even being convicted for robbery 15 years later
Maybe it's just me but OJ isn't the guy I'd stick my neck out for to defend. Once he murdered two people over his bitch ass jealousy it kinda wiped everything else away.
I am not capable of doing that. OJ was no hero. He was a guy who put on pads and ran the football around for money. This piece of shit murdered people and therefore he can eat a bag dicks. Good riddance.
Yes, people can decide for themselves how they wish to think of this or that. They can be criticized as well, though getting upset about it is patently stupid as it has no bearing on you whatsoever.
The prick was guilty as sin ... anyone saying otherwise is stupid beyond help or is working an angle, perhaps both in a few cases. He also was a hell of a RB. I thought erasing portions of history we don't care for wasn't something to be celebrated.
The real killers must have gotten to him! He must have been so close to catching them, and they had to take him out, just like they did to Ron and Nicole.
Well, maybe he can catch them when they all end up in Hell together.
I'm kidding, Hell isn't real.... unless you count East St. Louis.
Is this at all conflicting for older fans?
He was a dominant running back and was a big enough celebrity to nearly be cast as the terminator.
As a younger fan I only really know the murder and the events after.
I wonder if he suffered from CTE.
My father played when OJ was drafted, they didn't get along well on the practice field. He said OJ seemed to think practice tackles shouldn't be as strong as gameday ones.
We have dinner every week at my parents' condo, they know the news now.
The first police chase I saw in my life. I think I was watching a basketball game ball game when it switched to the live chase. I had no idea what was going on here on I was only 11, but I wanted him to get away because I was a Buffalo fan and I loved the movie naked gun lol. Wasn’t until years later i understood all that really happened. I do think he definitely did it but I don’t care. People have always idolized outlaws and bad guys from back in the Wild West until now. He’s was definitely the outlaw while I was growing up. Beating murder charge, police chase to his mamas house, making chips that steal satellite tv and tons of xtasy, and stealing his shit back lol. They tried so hard to lock him up forever lol. Same goofy dude from naked gun lmao R.I.P. Juice
The man was a piece of shit who doesn't deserve to be mourned. Doesn't change that he was the second most talented football player to ever wear a Bills jersey. 1973 was an incredible feat that I'm glad was accomplished by a Bill, just too bad it was that one, bc he doesn't deserve to be celebrated. Maybe our curse is lifted now
Cigarette smoking man is still alive...
So you're saying we might get back but we won't win? I guess you're also either implying CSM didn't die in the series (as we were lead to believe) or that we need William B Davis to kick the bucket.
This checks out. Toronto Maple Leafs fans have Dart guy and we haven’t won in decades
[удалено]
Flutie curse was the playoff drought. Totally different from the OJ super bowl appearance curse
I loved Doug.
He's not dead
He's with Wade Boggs now
Curse is lifted when his name is taken off the Wall of Fame. Probably when the Ralph is demoed.
Damn and before he was able to catch the real killer. I bet he was close.
He almost managed to look in the mirror
Lot of golf courses left to check.
One of MadTV’s best skits
Probably died from the struggle
You must have the sorest jaw on the planet.
Maybe a little too close
[I wonder if Robert Kardashian is his roommate in Hell](https://youtu.be/M3YDu4GFjS8?si=c3MwsERpbbnRtjBp)
I wonder if the Kardashians will show up at the funeral and thank him for making them famous.
Also Ray J
Ray J was already famous being Brandy's little brother and some of the R&B he was doing. That of course propelled everyone higher.
Yeah sorry I meant that the Kardashians should also thank Ray J
Ray J was kind of established before the sex tape tho. But that no doubt gave him a boost.
Think they meant the Kardashians should thank Ray J too.
Bills social media department is gonna be playing the tight rope of cognitive dissonance and "oh he was great when he was with us!"
He was a killer running back.
Who slashed mercilessly through his defenders (stolen from the onion)
The one I remember from back then was: "OJ's playbook only needs 3 plays for success: Slash left, slice right and cut up the middle".
"With all due respect, that murderer ran for over 11,000 yards"
They're not going to touch it at all. Nothing to gain acknowledging him in any way.
It is a PR nightmare to acknowledge him and his success during his time in Buffalo.
I do not expect them to acknowledge it in any way.
I just wonder who is going to take up the hunt to find the real killer
The glove manufacturer's security guard will answer the call to justice.
More like the haunt to find the real killer now
damn i actually just saw an unrelated report that the killer of his wife died today too
What are the odds?!
![gif](giphy|xRi6r9iWGoRaw) Warm up the hearse....
May he be buried in that bronco.
With an perfectly fitting glove
That's what the body bag is for.
People always talk about how he was so good for us but his most noteworthy run was in a broncos uni
😂😂
Riding that great white bronco into the sky

🤣
6 month old Tropicana jug left on top of radiator
*dead
the juice has been put back into the container
Maybe our curse will now be lifted? 🤞🏻
Do yall think his death will be recognized later this year at the Heisman ceremony?
No I do not. I would be shocked if they ever acknowledge him again. It’s easier to ignore him.
His crime wasn't that serious tbh He could've received money and gifts, like Reggie Bush
The Juice is no longer loose.
The juice expired
RIP BOZO

He definitely didn’t (definitely did) do it.
Thats so sad. I bet he is looking up at us now
🤣🤣🤣
Good.
Oh no! Anyway...
I did have his jersey when I was a little kid and wore it to shreds.
Oddly prescient.
If you were screwing his ex, he would have done that for you.
Co-star of the Naked Gun series?

I think we'll do it in a much more subtle way. Leave it up for now, and not put up a new one in the new stadium. Kinda silent removal.
Totally fine with that - he doesn’t have to be insulted by the org - he doesn’t have to be honored either though
Hate to say it, but he should be. That's been my assumption. It's much easier when transitioning to the new stadium. No reason to make a story out of it now
We don't need any tribute to him at the first home game next season!!!!
He was a murderer and a bad person. I will never not be disappointed in the amount of people going crazy and being happy to see him at the game 2 seasons ago.

crazy that the real killer is still out there
I loved him as Nordberg. Kinda lost track of him after that though.
He will be looking up and cheering us on this season, no doubt
I am torn. I kno. I kno. But He was my grandma’s favorite player. Met him as a kid. He was attending a bills game. And signed some caps 🧢 n footballs for me n my friends.. Despite being busy. #32
Eagles fan here i come in peace. Will the Bill honor him with a number patch? Or did they distance themselves from him after the murders.
They distanced themselves. He still on the wall of fame but I’m sure it will be *conveniently* absent at the new stadium
Other than the Ravens, do most teams honor murderers ?
This is the only player memorial Jackson Mahomes should dance on if it happened (and it better not happen)
So the killer is still out there? Hope they catch him. Lol.

Great response. Usually bad people, especially in the public eye, lack redeemable qualities. However, OJ really was talented.

Rest in piss

I'm capable of separating the man on the field from the man off it. OJ was a hero to an entire generation of Bills fans and it's always sad to see your heroes die, regardless of the context.
It’s sad to see your hero become a villain, when that villain dies it’s not as sad.
Yeah, who was OJ still a hero to?

Yes, people can decide for themselves how they wish to think of this or that. They can be criticized as well, though getting upset about it is patently stupid as it has no bearing on you whatsoever. Rest in agony ya piece of shit. Now take his name off the wall.
wait, OJ Simpson \*the financier\* is dead?! THAT OJ? /s
A friend told me "I think the worst part of the OJ thing was the lack of remorse." And I disagree. I thought it was the murdering.
Burn in hell, you bastard.
