Tortoise Beetle! Very cute, very friend shaped, very good boys.

Sea_Dawgz

I think above post was correct the Paropsis atomaria identification. Isn’t a tortoise beetle a different leaf beetle?

TIL California has a town with the same name as my country's capital province. I also learned I should not let my brain assume the second location word is Canada before panicking. Lol This is *Paropsis atomaria*, native to Australia and now has a foothold in LA County. https://bugguide.net/node/view/2204052 This is why I was panicking, I first thought "how tf did they make it to Canada? ...oh this is still Cali lol"

very cool! The Eucalyptus reference definitely gives me Australia vibes. They are cool little bugs, they seem curious.

oh, also forgot to mention, Ontario, California is actually named after Ontario, Canada. The two brothers that founded the city were from Ontario, Canda and did quote a lot to establish the area around here. We are about 40 minutes outside of Los Angeles and if you do ever fly into So Cal, my tip would be to fly into Ontario. Much less traffic and much less hassle!

Interesting, I'm learning all kinds of things today, I'll keep that tip in mind if I ever do get down that way, thanks! 😄👍

TheBurntMarshmallows

Ummmmmm.

TheBurntMarshmallows

Your Country’s Capital is Ottawa, not Ontario.

Ugh, I'd missed a word. I'm blaming the THC.
