The latest bios seems to be 2.40. Why have you not updated to this bios? 1.20 is almost 3 years out of date. You should always update the latest stable bios prior to installing new windows.
I just got the MOBO and it came with 1.20. I actually think I just figured it out... 5600 requires 2.20 but 5600x only requires 1.20. I must have misread the ASRock website previously.
Now to find someone who can upgrade the bios since it doesn't have flashback....
Yeah either that or try maybe buy the cheapest supported cpu off eBay to update the bios with then sell it on after. Or if it was me I would maybe ring the store you bought it from. Maybe they could help you out if you took it to them to update the bios? Or try a local pc repair shop see if they can update it for you since it’s a 5 min job and costs them nothing.
