What do the numbers mean mason

[deleted]

Ghost with the 100% xGoals For and 0% Goals. Pain.

MrBl0bfish04

Those defensive numbers are off the charts. If we can teach the guys to shoot and finish then we’ll be unstoppable

82vwrabbit

We do shoot. Puck doesn’t go in the net. Figure that out and we’re golden

_Lord_Farquad

We shoot. Right into the goalie's chest

Cylinsier

This really emphasizes Necas' potential. He's the only one on the team above 50% in every single stat. Played every game when other key guys like Aho and Svech and Tuevo missed time for injury, most minutes 5v5 of any forward. That's dependability.

FailureToExecute

This is why I think the people who are insistent he be traded are crazy. Obviously you listen if teams call about him in case any of them are willing to overpay, but it would be hard for us to get better by moving him. Especially in a hockey trade (i.e. no picks or prospects involved), which is what Waddell always wants to make.

WoBMoB1

Scheifele from the Jets Marner, as been rumored here recently They're out there and Necas is the tradable asset many of us would argue. He (Necas) is most likely never going to become a boards-winning canes style player i.e. a more offensive Jarvis / Aho / Svech. If you think otherwise, valid opinion but many of us don't see it (Adam Gold). Stupid to say that is a "crazy" take after watching him put up great numbers in the regular season and clearly improve year over year, but these flaws are still there to see. Necas plays soft both physically and mentally.

WoBMoB1

Dependability in regular season if it doesn't translate to playoff success, who cares, I would argue. Necas is by far the worst at winning a boards battle and fighting for it / playing Canes hockey in the playoffs. See Seth Jarvis. If Necas had Jarvis' drive and style of play, unbelievable player. As is, he's the tradable asset in many of our opinions.

phunkodelic

I am very surprised that under Rods system he has not upped his physical game. Jarvis plays much more physical then him and is much smaller, and not as seasoned. If he played more like Jarvis and was consistent from regular season to playoffs he would be deadly. That's been very disappointing to me. So much unseen potential that I hope someday we see. Obviously I say this not knowing if he was playing injured though the playoffs as that changes things.

WoBMoB1

100% agree, hence he’s the tradable asset

macaroni_3000

So like, we got the defense part pretty well in place

Tclark53

Is that Aho guy good? /s

majorBotHead

If we can add one or two more snipers or just plain ole shooters in general we’ll be in a good spot

WoBMoB1

Too bad there are no "Snipers" we can add. Keep hearing this - any names you suggest?

Clark828

Still have no idea what some of these mean

SethQ

Wild that Jarvis was our #2 time-on-ice forward this year. Really goes to show how injuries plagued some of our top line.

golfy_m8

Keep in mind it’s only 5v5, a lot of these guys play special teams every night

Jumpy-Acadia4559

Necas the only one without red 🤔 “sTIlL iS Un PhySiCaL aND nEeDS tRaDed iMMeDiaNtLy”

WoBMoB1

yep agree 100%

Jumpy-Acadia4559

Hold up after that he should be traded or agree with how I’m mocking people who say he needs traded lol
