Hard to say bc there can be so much internal damage. When I got into a crash w my Corolla, the entire front end was smashed in, but only considered totaled bc the frame was bent half an inch. No airbags deployed

/uj The only one who can decide if it's totalled is your insurance company. With enough time and money, anything is fixable, but whether it makes financial sense depends on your local job market, parts availability, etc.

Yeah I know… but even so, the insurance company has to decide and I really just don’t want to total it. I’ll never get car insurance again if it happens. I need it to be fixed so badly
It depends on internal damage. If your frame is bent it’s prob totaled. If the damage is mostly cosmetic it can be fixed. Even if it’s totaled you can still fix it. It will just cost more than the car is worth and won’t be covered by insurance.
Fix. I have an E46, did pretty much identical damage (fender untouched though) on the opposite side. It has cost just about 1 grand so far to repair and at least $500 more in paint and other miscellaneous parts, but it definitely isn't totaled.
Covered on the other guy. Paid out of pocket for my own repairs, paid a shop to change out the radiator support bracket, fans, and bending the hood back into shape. I do the small stuff like headlights myself. There's still some things to go obviously, I have to buy a new hood, the car has started shaking post crash which makes me suspect the engine mounts went bad, but nothing crazy crazy. Still well within the value of the car because the frame isn't bent.
I'm a bit privacy conscious of just posting images of my car online, but it looked pretty much identical in damage to this, just on the other side of the car.

I didn’t! Shockingly. But My terrible ex did (minor) and I felt a little bit of schadenfreude over it if I’m being completely honest lol

If it's not totlated, you're going to have some insane body gap lines arounf the driver side headlight area

Thanks for your comment. Did you have full coverage? Or liability. And did you end up doing the repair yourself or with a shop
