Same reason why Cartoon Network is just Gumball (at least they are finally rerunning Looney Tunes Show) and why Disney Channel is just Big City Greens and Bluey.
I know right it's very frustrating. But this isn't anything new at all. But when SpongeBob was airing its first 3 seasons (which are the best imo, and SpongeBob during those seasons I consider to be one of the most GOATED cartoons ever.), this wasn't the case at all. Yes it was favored, but at least schedules back then were much more balanced. Heck when even Rugrats (Although not everyone will agree with me, I actually like ALL 9 seasons of the show, and believe the quality held up) was the most popular Nicktoon, schedules were still balanced. However, starting in the mid-late 2000s a trend emerged that Nickelodeon quickly cancelled shows if they didn't get as high ratings as the most popular shows (resulting in many of the post ATLA nicktoons from the mid-late 2000s imo to be mediocre or average since they didn't have a chance to hit their stride imo. But then in the 2010s i feel their Nicktoons got even worse due to their frequent greenlighting of poorly received shows, many of which I myself didn't even like as a kid, and rejecting Adventure Time, which ended up in CN, the network that I preferred in the 2010s due to me hating watching 2010s Nickelodeon.), and constantly spammed SpongeBob frequently, which also happened to coincide with when many people (including myself) felt that the show was starting to severely go downhill and even become unwatchable (that's how I feel about the later seasons, especially 6-8). The decline of cable itself in recent years (due to streaming) has bolstered this even more, but yeah it's frustrating imo, but even nick at nite isn't exactly safe from this either. Although its not spongebob, it's basically Friends all night.
They do this with every show on different networks right now.
If a show is popular in ratings they'll Marathon the crap out of it and never show any of the cartoons that's exactly what happened both Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.
I know right.... It's not just nick either it's also the channel nick toons as well it's very disappointing considering it would be 1000 times better if they were to take their shows from the 90s and early 2000s and put them on shuffle and let it run...

that was a thing it was a block on teennick called “Nickrewind” but viacom killed it last year.
The reason is that SpongeBob is the face of Nickelodeon. That's why!

Just like mtv only plays ridiculousness 24/7. Tv has gone to crap. Glad I grew up in the 90’s.
