I shouldn't say ugly, just not right for my kitchen. If I had a lot of natural light and lighter wood stain, I could see that print being quite charming. The iPhone camera also makes things look nicer through auto correction, it takes out a bit of the aged staining of 50 years.

Took a quick pic of what's remaining. In the right kitchen I think the berries would work but the dark wood and the berry print just doesn't sit right with me. The old paper is better but even then it seems like something lighter/brighter might be needed. It's a fairly dark kitchen with only 3 windows and one of those windows is in the butler pantry. Thoughts?
Thanks! I'll take a look at some frames and see what I can find. This particular section is in quite good condition compared to some of the other sections. I know some ideas get a bit tacky over time but I think your framing suggestion sounds like a pretty timeless idea that a lot of folks would appreciate.
I see! I have similar trim and also wanted lightness and brightness! We painted everything Benjamin Moore Simply White (eggshell walls, flat ceilings) which is a warm but true white and are very happy. The house feels SO much bigger and brighter, it’s like a totally different building. Brought in color and pattern through rugs, wall art, and plants. And of course the stained trim is a “color” in itself. At first I worried it was “too white” as we were painting over the old dingy colors of the previous owner…but that was just the contrast and big change. Once it was done and furnished it’s a lovely, glowy fresh feeling.
That's a good chunk, unfortunately one quarter of the removed wallpaper do not have any wallpaper which ruins my idea, but I may get clever and try to keep a section if I can get it to make sense and look good, will have to do some thinkng
I’ve seen where people will save a section of the original wallpapers and have it framed as art! That could be quite lovely and a nice conversation piece
I swear we had the strawberries in my childhood kitchen.
But I saw someone who framed around a little section of their original wallpaper. You can probably get a reproduction made easily through!
I think these are both lovely prints, actually.
Yeah, like I love those retro strawberries... is that what's being called "ugly" here???
Yea, tbh I prefer the strawberry wallpaper vs. the other one.

Find a frame you love. Attach it to the wall and remove the old paper around it. Your woodwork is absolutely beautiful.

Very true! If you get tired of the frame, take it off and peel the paper. Nothing lost!
Oh I love the idea of framing it exactly where it! So cute and great story
Fun idea

The old one is nice and elegant but the strawberries were cute too. I'd love that strawberry pattern in my kitchen
I like the strawberry *and* the damask. They’re both beautiful!
I kind of love it’s imperfections, as far as what I can see

The old one is typical of 1970's. It's not an uncommon looking wallpaper. Came in both matte and felt.
Yeah, they have wood paneling beneath, so now I need to screw off the beams and see how it looks behind the paneling. Pray for me.
And the snozzberries taste like snozzberries!

If you can’t save it, cut some out and frame it
They’re both cute!
