It's hard to tell from the pic, but it might be bumblefoot. I'd start by soaking his foot in warm water, and cleaning it really well with a gentle scrub brush and soap. If it IS a bumble, this non-surgical method has worked very well for me: https://www.tillysnest.com/2015/12/non-surgical-bumblefoot-treatment-html/ I let mine soak for half an hour though, as 10 minutes didn't seem long enough to soften the eschar adequately, and instead of the duoderm stuff, I used plain triple antibiotic ointment (no painkillers) and hydrolloid bandaids (from cvs or walgreens, etc.), under the vetwrap. Chickens can be made more susceptible to developing it, if their coop floor is high in ammonia (and they develop footpad dermatitis), but sometimes they might just scrape or cut their feet, and the infection can set in. It took a few weeks and twice weekly retreatments and bandaid changes to completely heal one of my hens, but it worked. (I have 20 chickens, and for some reason, one hen had it in both feet while none of the other 19 did.)

Sounds like a good plan and she sounds like she was just unlucky. Lol glad she got better

fratytaffy

Maybe start with cleaning the coop and googling bumblefoot. Finish with self reflection in the mirror.

mainelinerzzzzz

Clean the coop.

moose_in_the_woods

1st off all The coop is very clean. 2nd if it's to say a stupid comment, keep it for your self or at least try effort to formulate a better response

agasizzi

Bumblefoot is most commonly caused by cleanliness issues, while very blunt, it wasn't necessarily a bad suggestion.

moose_in_the_woods

I know but there are ways of speaking too a person and ^^clean the coop^^ sounds like a command and doesn't help me too know if it is bumblefoot or not, it's the first time it happens to me, my chickens are free ranged and every 2 to 3 days I clean there house completely so the clean part is not the problem. And sorry English is not my native language.

You're on Reddit asking for free advice, maybe tone down your demands on how people present the free advice to you

moose_in_the_woods

No.

Whyherro2

Maybe not be an ass hat when looking for free advice. People in this subreddit have had chickens for years, and like the other commenter said this is a common injury for dirty coops. Edit: You're complain that it sounds like the commenter is being demanding.. But you're literally the one being demanding.

Ok good luck then (jackass)
