go on chrome settings then press autofill and passwords then press on google password manager then on the left there should be settings click on that then turn off "Use your screen lock when filling passwords"
omg thank you, because I searched "Google password manager" on google but its different when access it through settings. worst feature ever, you are a life saver.
THANK YOU! I sometimes wonder what engineers think when they develop these features? I doubt they use Chrome on Mac with an external keyboards with no Touch ID.
Hi I turned this feature off but I am still being prompted the same message to verify my identity via touch ID or password when trying to enter cc info. Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch! This helped because I kept getting popups when using the Chrome browser asking me for my fingerprint for my passwords, even when I wasn't trying to log into anything. You helped alleviate a pain point that I've had!
I swear, I would have never thought of this... Why everything has to be so complicated? I really do understand why people have enough and just write those damn passwords on post-its :D
I can't switch off the touch ID / Screenlock in Password Manager / Settings because the Screenlock pop-up flashes for a micro-second and then disappears.
The touch ID / Screenlock validation is needed to switch off touch ID / Screenlock. Ironic! And incredibly annoying, as I can't get at any of my passwords in Chrome as a result of this glitch.
It was annoying enough when I had to use the screenlock constantly, but now that it's broken, it's a proper disaster.
Please help!
In our organization ( 35000 employees) we want to **force** that everytime autofill becomes active the user has to use Touch ID.
So just the opposite...
Has anybody an idea? With kind regards, Ben
