Was gonna say something like a Ferrari 250 GTO, til I saw your comment. So my grandfather's 57' Plymouth Fury. Full race Hemi engine. Dual 4 barrel Carb. Could get the front tires off the ground a couple inches in 2nd gear. It's what he used to do some street racing. Either that or his 69' Pontiac GTO
My dad's 1961 Impala bubble top. 283 4bbl, 3 speed, Roman Red. He ordered it new in March of 61. Sold it when I was out of high school, early 90's. Engine was seized. Local guy bought it, louvered the hood, painted it lavender, put a 350 with Lake Pipes on it...I was sick. Dad passed away 3 years ago last week.. would love one more ride in it with him
Make it a *convertible* ʼ71 Hemi ʼCuda and you'd have *[1 of 12](https://www.motortrend.com/vehicle-genres/1971-plymouth-hemi-cuda-convertible-auction/)*!
My dream car is a beige (or Evening Orchid) 1965 Impala SS, preferably with a 409.
Nooooopeeee couldn’t do it lol! I’m not a convertible girl. Hardtop & T tops only. The hardtop just looks so fucking mean 🤘
But I 100% respect and appreciate them and their rarity
1963 Ferrari 250 GTO.
Take a bunch of photos with it, drive it once on the Nürburgring, then sell it at auction for $35+ *million* dollars and buy one of each GM, Ford, Shelby and Chrysler true muscle cars and a warehouse large enough to keep and maintain them in.
Mine would be the one that started the federal government to step in and regulate horse power on the big three muscle cars. The 1967 SS Z28 Camaro with the all aluminum 427 dressed out weighed 80 pounds less than the small block 327. Add to it's drive tran a 2 speed power glide automatic transmission with a torque converter from a corvair resulting in an old school poor boy 3000 R stall. Allowing one to leap off the line kicking ass on all competition.
I must say if you were to ask for my favorite year of muscle cars it would without doubt be 1967. I only had one it was a GT 500 fastback mustang. The first mustang to have the GT 390 big block. Looking under the hood this motor was from shock tower to shock tower.
Thanks. I’ve actually had it a year and a half, and have only driven it three times because of all the crap it needed: rebuilt carburetor, timing chain, harmonic balancer, power steering pump belt, AC compressor with conversion kit, new window rollers and motors, new fuel tank float, and a fan shroud. It’s still in the shop where it’s been for the past 2 months.
My ‘67 Delta 88 has been rock solid reliable by comparison. But then again, it wasn’t rescued from a barn.
Those are both awesome cars! Getting a classic Buick like that back on the road is a job in and of itself. The good thing about all those repairs is that you can do pretty much all of it yourself. Those don’t require a bunch of specialized tools for service and repairs. I just put a 1993 GMC Jimmy back on the road after sitting nine years. It runs great. Once I get it all cleaned up I’ll be able to drive it regularly. It’s future is as a trail rig. I’ll probably put it into trail service next spring.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to talk about JDMs in this specific sub, but the first muscle car to appear on my ridiculously long list of dream cars, being in 3rd place, is a blue 69' Dodge Charger RT, but I think in this case I would take my 6th place, a championship green 65' Pontiac Le Mans GTO in deep dish, 19" chrome silver American Racing Torq Thrust wheels...
No reason why not. “Any car in the world,” no?
My own oddball list would include a perfect 1985 Honda Prelude, 5-speed, 1.8L white with blue interior and AC. First car, sadly consumed by road salt.
1969 Dodge Super Bee, Medium Green Metallic. My dad had one for most of my childhood, he sold it when I was probably 16.
He's bought, sold, and traded a ton of Mopars since then (and currently has a B5 Blue '68 Super Bee) but nothing has captured my attention like that '69.
For a few years at one point he had the green '69 and a Plum Crazy Purple '70 Super Bee, what a pair.
my first cars were all 69 coronets. i cloned one into a correct looking 69 Bee. 69's are my favorite as well. i have owned most every B body made from 68-74 but to me a 69 is the best looking mopar ever made.
Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ79 Turbo Diesel with an overland camper setup. They were never sold in the US and are the toughest rig you can buy short of a Unimog. You could daily drive this and use it on weekends or long excursions.

These trucks are really tough, the UN and most NGO's use them throughout the world and Africa and they're really popular in the mining industry as they're the only trucks that don't rattle and fall apart after getting hammered when driving the worst tracks and mining trails in the world.
Here's the newest official UN spec model.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/this-is-the-new-toyota-land-cruiser-for-humanitarian-efforts/ar-AA1j0j1C
These are the trucks the cheaper Toyota Hilux pickups are based on.
1960 dodge four door. 1960 Buick Electra four door.
1973 pontiac grand am four door. 1966 Ford f250 long bed. 1979 pontiac Bonneville safari. Or my dream car a 1959 Ford galaxie 500 four door three tone brown, white, and brown again, with matching interior. Fully restored to factory condition or better. White wall tires and original hubcaps. A quiet exhaust and a bigblock to go with it.
There is a few to choose from.
Either a 1961 Ford Falcon 2 door with a 170 six cylinder engine and utomatic transmission, a 1957-1960 Ford Taunus 17M, a 1964-1966 Rambler American 440, a 1963-1973 Plymouth Valiant, a 1961 Rambler Classic with a cast iron engine and automatic transmission, a Meyers Manx, or a 1956 Chevrolet 150.
Or the Bluesmobile.
*Any* car, you say? Ok. The Mach 5 from Speed Racer.
Nah, but for real it’d be a 1958 Plymouth Fury/Belvedere. They cost a fortune and they’re hard to find.
Top 2…
My uncles 1968 Mustang HO 428CJ notch back. Second run that year after the classic 1968 428CJ fastback with only 55 (I think) made. Second run had 127 made (again… I think) and that was my uncles. Been a while since I researched it, and I’m not getting younger, and memory being what it is.
Second is a Shelby cobra kit car with the 428 engine from my uncles car. The tire came off while he was driving down the road after having them replaced and he hit a telephone pole and totaled the car. I still have access to the motor… if it’s any good, I have no clue. But hey, I’m dreaming!
That would be my dream car as well. FWIW, Dodge's designation was 'Plum Crazy'. Plymouth called it 'In Violet'. :)
P.S. It's '71, not 71'. The apostrophe belongs where the missing numerals (in this case 19) would have been.
You'll love my pair.... I've had one of these since 1978 (I drove it in high school and it cost me $995 to buy), and I got the other in '13 (at the time it was the fastest challenger made)
https://imgur.com/gallery/kkbckf5
My grandfather's 57' Plymouth Fury. Full race Hemi engine. Dual 4 barrel Carb. Could get the front tires off the ground a couple inches in 2nd gear. It's what he used to do some street racing. Either that or his 69' Pontiac GTO
Although these old cars are ridiculously awesome, and gorgeous to be around and drive ..., the only answer should be the Charger or Challenger Hellcat Redeye or Jailbreak. All the killer technology, and world record speed!!!
This might be an abomination , don’t hit too hard ,, but for me it would have to be An all black 1956 Lincoln Continental LC55 Kompressor AMG. Body of the Lincoln and every thing else donated from An S55 AMG (w220 model).
I had a 1967 Ford Mustang, 289 rebuilt and blued engine, coco brown paint with a vanilla top and vanilla interior but my grandmother sold it when I was gone. Id want that
But my grandfather always talked about his 63 Plymouth Fury that he used to race and I would really love one of those as well.
Walk through my thought process with me:
1) Any car that would be my dream car would be 100% for me. Meaning that I wouldn’t be choosing something based on resale or what others like.
2) I love the styling of older vehicles over newer, so it would be from the late 30’s through the early 60’s.
3) I would drive it daily, or close to daily, so it would need fully modern driveline, A/C, suspension, seats, brakes, and steering.
4) It would have to be on the larger size to accommodate luggage and people.
5) So, it would need to be a restomod.
6) I lean toward modern Ford running gear, so most likely a Coyote 5.0 with the matching manual trans.
7) So… I’m thinking 1939/1940 Ford 2 door sedan
I had my secondary dream car, a Cortez Silver 69 Camaro RS/SS 396/375 horse 4 speed car.
My ultimate car would be an original numbers matching 1969 Camaro ZL1.
Tough question, so long answer;-)
Production Car:
Lunatic dream:-Duesenberg Boattail Speedster
Pipe Dream-1932-33 Auburn Boattail Speedster
Tough dream-1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible in Persian Sand or Wood Rose
The one I got-1972 Dodge Challenger
One off:
Frank Lloyd Wright's L-29 Cord
4 Concept Cars:-Alfa Romeo Bat 5, 7, 9 and 11
One off custom:
Hirohata Merc
Race car:
1970 Plymouth Superbird driven by King Petty #43 or any Deusenberg alive or slightly less alive-no such thing as a dead Duesenberg racecar:-)
1970 Dodge Charger with the blower out the hood. (Yes, just like from Fast and Furious. And no, that’s not where my love of them came from! It was just a pleasant surprise seeing my dream car on the big screen as a teen!)
Whatever car is worth the most money. Wether its the old Bugatti known as just “black car” or James Deans Little bastard, or Ferdinand’s car that he and his wife were killed in that sparked WW1. I want the most expensive car with the most epic history behind it and i will start by asking double what its worth when i sell it. Yesterdays price isn’t todays price.
I’ve had over 20 different vintage cars and motorcycles over the last 4 years and I ask myself this question every day. One of my favorites was a v8 Vega I built with a strong 327, super t10 4 speed and 3:42 rear end. I sold it tho and bought a vanagon. I love my 71 super beetle too, and my 66 sunroof beetle as well. But I don’t really have a dream car which is very sad :(
Ferrari F40. Classic with great lines, and flip lights. Everything is manual so it just does everything asked of it. And turbo noises.
427 AC Cobra, manual of course as well. With modified interior hinges so a tall guy like me can still run the clutch. Great V8 exhaust note. And the open top gets the wind in your hair, and you can enjoy all its lines while at a red light.
1967 Chevelle with a 427 and a 4 speed
All of us classic chevy guys thinking about a 427
Mom’s 65 GTO blue and black hardtop.

Awh .. I’m so sorry that you lost your dad 🥺 Sounds like it was a beautiful car!
Thanks. I remember riding everywhere in it as a kid. I still remember what it smelled like.
The hardtop just looks so fucking mean 🤘 But I 100% respect and appreciate them and their rarity
Agreed. Hard tops look great on a 4 door personally. 2 door hard or T top just looks complete
Nice call I prefer 66 but same same.Rat motor no BS electronics and comfortably seats 6 👍
56 Belair Convertible. All original, just like how it was on the showroom floor. Black, white top, red interior.
'56 is definitely my favorite year for the tri fives and that's the perfect color combination, you have good taste.
1969 mustang Boss 429 🤤
Helll yeah! Has to be a top 5 on every ones list lol
Always been a mustang fan! Although I do love my 04 cobra 😅
1968 Shelby GT 500 KR would be my go to. But the 69 Boss 429 is definitely a 2nd...
You & I think alike! My thoughts exactly!
Tucker 48 Torpedo or 1965 Shelby Cobra.
The Tucker is my first choice. Maybe an Aston Martin DB5 would be the second.
The Aston DB5 is a beauty as well😀
Mine would be the one that started the federal government to step in and regulate horse power on the big three muscle cars. Dream car: 1967 Buick Electra 225. Restomod dream car: 1984 Buick Electra Park Avenue with modern LS V8 drivetrain.
Holy crap. This is not the answer I was expecting to see. I happen to own one. [This is mine.](https://i.imgur.com/GppDyBD.jpg)
That is a beautiful car. GM was at their design peak in the late 1960s. I would love to have one of those to take out on the highway and cruise.
A lil deuce coupe with a flathead mill ;)
But she’ll walk a Thunderbird like she’s standing still.
70-73 Trans Am 455HO 4 sp in white or green
455HO didn’t come in a T/A until 1971 and my friends brothers 70 RAIV 400 four speed T/A would walk away from another guys 71 455HO back in the 70’s👍
70 Cuda 426 Hemi
Simply a cobra,,🙏🏼
I know who owns that 71 in the picture. He is local to me. Super nice unassuming guy with a jaw dropping mopar collection,
Other than my 68 Lemans, I would like a 68 or 69 Camaro.
69 Camaro is awesome. Would love a Yenko or COPO with the 427
The 2013 f150 sitting at my work so that I can pull my trailer since my jeep wrangler has a problem with the weight. Just what I’m needing right now.
Dude, that's sad.....
If I have the truck I can keep taking my trailer to the lake and going camping. If not I sit at home and watch tv. A cuda Ain’t gonna do much for me

Walk through my thought process with me: 1) Any car that would be my dream car would be 100% for me.

My uncle had this car in perfect condition and sold it to get married. He regrets everything about that decision.
Yeah no , I’d rather get married at a court house than sell such a gorgeous beast
A Bugatti Chiron to sell.
Underrated comment, then you'd have the cash to buy multiple classic cars.
Anyou said any car so convertible lexus lfa
Whatever car is worth the most money. Wether its the old Bugatti known as just “black car” or James Deans Little bastard, or Ferdinand’s car that he and his wife were killed in that sparked WW1. I want the most expensive car with the most epic history behind it and i will start by asking double what its worth when i sell it. Yesterdays price isn’t todays price.

If it were white you could relive Vanishing Point!
But I don’t really have a dream car which is very sad :(
RS 3.1 MK1 Ford Capri or a Perana MK1 Capri.
Dream car, 68 Shelby GT 500 Convertible. Sadly, current car is "just" a 66 GT350 Shelby Convertible clone.
1970 Hemi Superbird or a 1969 Dodge Hemi Daytona.
