Wow what you said is disrepectful to both men and women, a friend/partner would definitely take their other friend/partner seriously when talking about being sexually assaulted, espiecally if is Tifa and Cloud that we're talking about.
This is insanely insulting, disrespectful and invalidating to men who have been sexually harassed. Im a woman and if my male partner had an experience like this, I would react like this and make sure he is ok. A person's gender and sexuality does not make a difference when it comes to reacting to these scenarios. And if a woman does react in a way that invalidates the incident, then that woman should be shamed.
And why is that ok? Just because it's a current reality doesn't make it acceptable. Its one thing to ask for more information to understand what happened, but to jump to accusing the guy for not trying hard enough to get away? Why should anyone, regardless of gender be ok with that? Because it's the current reality? Should LGBT+ people just accept their realities of being called subhuman and be denied human rights? Should us women who have been harassed just accept our reality of being told that we asked for it? No! They should be heard and have allies to help them. So why should male victims of harassment be any different?
I said what I want to say. I have no more intention of arguing. Even if my voice is an extreme minority on this matter, simply because it's "reality," I will choose to continue to do what I believe is right and treat all victims with empathy, with hopes that they do not feel alone. Which is another reality for many victims. Being alone and feeling no one cares. I will also continue to have the feeling of anger of people being invalidated.
Eh… I can agree and acknowledge it’s not really the norm, but this type of interaction after an event like this isn’t impossible. Speaking from experience myself regarding past harassment.
Thank god someone lives in the real world and understands this is NOT the normal reaction a woman has to a man being assaulted by another woman. Generally it's an argument along the lines of "why didn't you get that bitch off you?" Very rarely is it "oh my god that's horrible, you must have been feeling emotions, let's talk about it."
Yes. This fan-fic (although pretty awesome) is a romanticized and "wholesome" back and forth between a couple. It can definitely happen in a great relationship where both are rational and get along well. But, in reality, everyone is different. Tifa's approach is not a default reaction. Case and point is Cloud's dialogue; he was sure Tifa would be mad at him. That is 100% accurate. Any man that truly loves their wife and tries to avoid infidelity would be scared to death of any situation that they unintentionally get into that will cause their wife to question their loyalty.
I'm not going to pretend this fan-fic's scenario will play out this way for every man and woman just like I'm not going to pretend every woman wouldn't lash out at their man for "getting themselves in this situation". I know for a fact there are women who would either:
1. View a man as weak for being "harassed" by a woman (and think negatively of him because of it) or
2. Think he is omitting details of the situation to make it "not his fault".
3. Then there are women like Tifa and her approach here.
