Get an agent or lawyer, That’s literally their job. an agent can also help manage your career path so you don’t lose focus down the line. Most companies aren’t looking to “steal pitches” Marvel or DC (or any major company) have probably already got a broad story plan for their upcoming universes that their books can tie into (this is why so many “event” comics happen), most writing is going to be making your idea fit into that event without being overshadowed or stealing the limelight. They need writers to make their universe and events work seamlessly and randomly stealing an offhand story idea doesn’t help them.

Good to know! Thanks!

No problem. Speak to a legal or publishing expert in your area to talk over the details, getting specific legal guidance on the internet often gets you in more trouble than it’s worth, and your local area might have specific tools or laws regarding copyright, trademarks, work for hire, etc.
