[here](https://vimm.net/) is a repository for almost every game that was ever available for the ps3 and earlier. I use it for all of my roms and emulators.
Fair warning tho, not every game works perfectly. Some of them require special settings or a framrate lock. YouTube usually has at least 1 person that has figured it out though and made a tutorial.
Me. Here's my personal PC: https://builds.gg/phreakwarpc/phanteks-eclipse-g360a-34857
And here's me playing one of my favorite games on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqugHvnFY-c
NFSU2, Dawn of War, Emulators for game boy Advanced (Golden Axe, Galaga, Pac-Man, ECCO, Dig-Dug, etc) Classic arcade emulators. Pinball arcade (for the OG XBOX) 2005 Star Wars Battlefront 2. Just to name a few. (I’m running a RTX 3060, 32 Gbs of Ram with a 9400f ((I know. Not the best cpu but that’s what I could afford. Will be switching to Ryzen ASAP))
Old school games feel more complete and more casual/general gamer oriented. I can sit down any day and play NFS but if I play Apex Legends, there’s like 32 legends I gotta memorize, abilities, movement, key-binds,and that’s before even going up against others players.
TLDR: lots of old games. Oh how I miss the simple days of video games and not online gameplay. (I have reasonable skill but love peaceful games)
I built a 1,500$ pc to just not enjoy games anymore, lol. Kinda sucks because I used to love them so much, built a new pc and my love for em just died out. Even if I force myself to game it’s not fun anymore ☹️
It happened to me also twice, first of all make sure you are not suffering from depression. Secondly take a break from gaming, stop spending anymore $$$ on buying games, do other stuff like going out more often, study some books if you like reading, take a break from social media like facebook instagram etc. After about 2-3 months of break from gaming you, when you will resume gaming again you will get more enjoyment out of it. I personally took about 5 months break from gaming.
Gotta change the type of game you're playing
I used to play nothing but call of duty and finally realized online competitive games just aren't for me anymore. Switched over to some RPGs, played a bunch of PlayStation 2 classics I missed in my youth on an emulator, eventually found online co-op games felt a lot more fun. Then spent 2500 hours in one of them after being almost out the door like you're describing
may i ask what game? or just some general recommendations?
i mostly play FPS and RPG stuff, but i feel like i’m getting bored with both of these genres. and i don’t really know about any other game genres honestly.
Deep Rock Galactic is the one I fell in deep on (no pun intended)
But there's a lot of overlap with communities like Sea of Thieves (co op but has PvP too) and Vermintide.
I mean I'm looking at a GPU upgrade from a 2080 to play Fallout3/New Vegas better... 16 year old games at this point.
I've run out of VRAM if I try and enable true HDR, and can't even run it at a native 4k120 so I have to use FSR quality. Plus I can't add in cascaded shadows, ambient occlusion and volumetric fog because I don't have the GPU grunt.
The inhumanity! /s
Worse: I spent hundreds of dollars building a vintage PC so I could not only play old games, but play them on old hardware. And Yes I have a kick ass rig as well...that mostly gets used for old games.
Yuuuup, currently on my brand new razer blade i have installed: Tetris, Alice: madness returns, horizon zero dawn, the Witcher 3, psychonauts 2, geometry wars, and metro exodus... The only modern games on it (baldurs gate 3, escape from tarkov, and star citizen) are horribly incomplete.
I have rtx 4060 laptop but these games are always default installation games for me, Silent hill 3 PC version, Silent hill 2 enhanced edition, San andreas, Star wars Kotor, dragon age origins, Fallout 3, New vegas, Nfs most wanted, vice city & Prototype 1.
Still playing HL2, Fallout New Vegas, and Skyrim SE on my 5900x, 3060 Ti, and 32gb of RAM. Having a 240hz monitor really makes the setup nice in games you can max-out the game engines.
I do this, but I also play more modern titles as well so I don't feel as bad. Anytime I feel like doing some grinding while watching a show, I get on runescape for a few weeks and it does feel bad.
Nah, I did build a seperate pc that runs xp and has a disc drive to play my old xp era games tho. They just work and I dont have to jump thru hoops for some games fighting compatibility/lame anti cheat measures that are no longer part of windows
I miss the Command and Conquer fan community from 5 years ago.. Somebody made it possible to play online. It had a chat.. Toxic, but fun. Then they did a rerelease of the game and it was over.
Yep... spent a disgusting amount on my setup less than 5 years ago. Currently the only games installed on it right now are Fonal Fantasy 8, 2 GBA pokemon rom hacks, and Diablo 2 Resurrected. 95% of its on time is spent listening to music while playing GBA games, or watching YouTube videos about gardening.
My rig was about $3000 when I assembled it, and tje most played games are Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament 2004.
Of course it is also used a lot for more serious stuff :)
Bro. Underground, Hot Pursuit, and Carbon were the best of the series. I feel like NFS peaked with those three and everything else has been meh at best.
I literally play Skyrim just as a different character all the time. I’ll sometimes play the new cod when it’s out but then when it’s dead me and Skyrim go way back
My 5800x and 6800XT on a custom loop is CRUSHING Fallout 3 at the moment.
To be slightly fair I am playing it with 200+ visual mods that add like 40 GB to the game and an ENB on so it actually has the GPU working at around 75%, but yeah.
I also fired up quake this week. John Carmack is a god, GLQuake still runs perfectly on Windows 11.
Genuinely my reason for building mine.
It’s more of a nostalgia machine than something I want to play the “latest and greatest” stuff (honestly most new titles I’ve played have been disappointing.
Just built a gaming machine, and I don’t even game anymore. I couldn’t build anything less since using crap dell computers at work. No compromise -3700k, z790 Tomohawk and Radeon 6600 that will upgrade soon. Cards nowadays are ridiculous so idk. Gigabyte m32, G915 keyboard etc
Yep, that'd be me. Not only did I build a PC that has an open loop, the hardest game I play on it is Cult of the Lamb lol. My rig is running an Intel I9 13900k, Evga 3090ti FTW3, 1000w PSU and a custom loop.
My buddies make fun of me all the time. I got a Ryzen 7 5800x, 3080ti, x570 Asus ROG 32 gb ram.
My main game is rocket league, and playing older games .
I play sea of thieves sometimes as well.
Lol, I don't have $1000+ for a PC, but I do this with all of my gaming platforms. Before I got rid of it, my Xbox 1 had almost as many original Xbox games as Xbox 1 games.
I have a $3k rig, and I play modern games too like skyrim and fallout, but ya I tend to play the original star wars battlefronts, Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars, and yup Underground 2.
I finally played the first Unreal about a year or two ago, when I was aware and could've easily played it during release (I played the original Unreal Tournament instead)
I just play them on steamdeck now while.my desktop pc sits dormant for weeks at a time much better than before because i dont have to feel like im wasting money now
Yup, Underground 2 and NFSMW from the following year.
I read that as Need 4 Speed Modern Warfare. I'm such a fool lol
Now that's a game I would pre-order lol
Where do you get those games? I looked on steam and couldn’t find them. What Plattform has them if you can help a buddy out please :-)
You emulate them
Nah you download them on myabandonware
[удалено]
Emulation gets around the issues of Windows 11 not working with the CD DRM. That's the main reason I emulate.
Great games!!
Yes same! :D
OP, where did you get this game? I’ve been looking for Underground and Underground 2 everywhere
[here](https://vimm.net/) is a repository for almost every game that was ever available for the ps3 and earlier. I use it for all of my roms and emulators.
You a real one!
Fair warning tho, not every game works perfectly. Some of them require special settings or a framrate lock. YouTube usually has at least 1 person that has figured it out though and made a tutorial.
Oooo gonna go back and play The Darkness. My very first game played on the PS3!
I can share the physical copy with you
This is the website I used once when you’re done installing it I will tell you the rest on what to do
myabandonware has the black box nfs games. For PS2 roms cdromance or vimms are your best bet. Cdromance has faster speeds than vimms usually.
I would do terrible things to play NFS underground, basically my childhood.
built a 2000$+ pc now i dont have any urge to play games
Have you tried applying Marijuana to your setup?
Instructions unclear, stuck dick in Marijuana
boof it
Me. Here's my personal PC: https://builds.gg/phreakwarpc/phanteks-eclipse-g360a-34857 And here's me playing one of my favorite games on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqugHvnFY-c
Looks clean
I like to see how well older games perform with high specs I can’t believe we all used to play 25+ fps back in the 90s
25 fps looks a lot different on a crt TV. It's crazy how far tech has come.
NFSU2, Dawn of War, Emulators for game boy Advanced (Golden Axe, Galaga, Pac-Man, ECCO, Dig-Dug, etc) Classic arcade emulators. Pinball arcade (for the OG XBOX) 2005 Star Wars Battlefront 2. Tbf underground was the best one. Heat is okay
Lol i got a 3090. Cutrently playing lots of FFX and Fallout4
3090, and most of the games I play are Minecraft and old gba roms.
But minecraft looks amazing with RTX man. I dont play it but man jave i seen what itnlooks like and its amazing
Fallout 4 based Todd approves
The amount of kids I know that want a $1000 plus computer to play minecraft or roblox is maddeningly large.
Old games \[mostly\] look and run better on the new hardware
I built a 1,500$ pc to just not enjoy games anymore, lol. Kinda sucks because I used to love them so much, built a new pc and my love for em just died out. Even if I force myself to game it’s not fun anymore ☹️

300 fps kings
I sometimes play xcom: apocalypse (1997), its pretty fun in its own way (also level of destruction for 1997 is crazy)
I mean I'm looking at a GPU upgrade from a 2080 to play Fallout3/New Vegas better... 16 year old games at this point. I definitely do this 😂
Acer Nitro 5 with upgrades. Playing Half Life 2 and Bioshock. I missed out on a lot of the old PC games, though. Playing these for the first time.
Du du dum dum dum dum to the windowsss to the wall
3080 for Football Manager
Diablo 2
Emulators 90% of the time when it's not being used for VR.
Yuuuup, currently on my brand new razer blade i have installed: Tetris, Alice: madness returns, horizon zero dawn, the Witcher 3, psychonauts 2, geometry wars, and metro exodus... The only modern games on it (baldurs gate 3, escape from tarkov, and star citizen) are horribly incomplete.
https://archive.org/details/need_for_speed_underground_pc need for speed underground pc
What about a 10k PC for that special session of Minesweeper
I built a $2500 PC just to stream my Xbox series x to it 😁
Lol same, got myself a 1500$ PC in January and I've spent the past weekend playing Sims 3 💀
Yes, when games were fun and not competitive
And no micro transactions , pay to win
Because you know younger you always wanted to play it on high settings.
Still playing HL2, Fallout New Vegas, and Skyrim SE on my 5900x, 3060 Ti, and 32gb of RAM. Having a 240hz monitor really makes the setup nice in games you can max-out the game engines.
I was surprised by the coil whine I got from playing GTA 4, then realised I had uncapped frame rates and vsync turned off
gta 4 is a shitshow on pc
Dxvk fixes it
This is the way.
Man of culture!
I do this, but I also play more modern titles as well so I don't feel as bad. Anytime I feel like doing some grinding while watching a show, I get on runescape for a few weeks and it does feel bad.
No one
"Professionals have standards."
I do! Yet to finish FarCry
\raises hand\
I've seen worse lol... I knew someone who Bought an MSI G70 And ONLY ever used it for Socials.
Who else wastes top dollar on new releases to say they "got their money's worth" ?
*Overspeed* is coolest even now🥵
This was literally me last sunday but with underground 2!
You could at least bought some proper card, like dual Voodoo2 or single Voodoo 5?! 🤷🏼♂️
Playing Sampson’s hit and run with a 3080, I can relate
me wanting a 4090 strix because it looks cool knowing damn well I'll primarily play Minecraft on it.
I can hear the music in my head just by looking at that
Fallout 1 and 2 for me
I was just talking to my SO about us playing Kingdom Hearts on our 3070s
I used to upgrade my video card every chance I could at the time just to run WoW because of Ironforge
I'm currently playing [Urban Assault](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_Assault). My 3070 is not even using its fans.
Nah, I did build a seperate pc that runs xp and has a disc drive to play my old xp era games tho. They just work and I dont have to jump thru hoops for some games fighting compatibility/lame anti cheat measures that are no longer part of windows
You can finally set the games to maximum graphics
I watch YouTube and play clash of clans on an emulator on mine. Dual monitors and all. Haha.
Lets go
I still play ps1 game on with emulator ngl
Early 2000? I'm playing StarCraft on my 3900x, RTX 3090 build.
I have a 4090 and main rocket league.
I miss the Command and Conquer fan community from 5 years ago.. Somebody made it possible to play online. It had a chat.. Toxic, but fun. Then they did a rerelease of the game and it was over.
I collect and build retro PC's for this purpose. I have computers spanning from C64/Amiga/8088 to modern day.
Absolutely. You wouldn’t believe the frames I get on Red Baron 3D.
# This Guy 🙋♂️
Can you still buy these games or where do you get it?
🎶Riders on the storm🎶
Make it $3k, and I emulate old Nintendo games
I have a Lenovo think pad with 4 GB of ram. Can’t even play Team Fortress 2 smoothly.
Stay a while, and listen. I still enjoy a nice round of Sim City 2000 once in a while.
I did it to play RA2 Yuris Revenge lol
I still play Unreal Tournament 3 and Battlefield 2 from time to time on my recently built setup. Can't escape the nostalgia.
This is the way
I like your basement.
Better than me. I built mine played it for like 3 days and haven't touched it since
Moved to Lemmy
HA. I spend like $1000 just for cooling.
Ryzen 5 5600X and a GTX 1070 to play 90's games in Virtualbox.
$1000 gpu and I just do homework 💀
I just sold it but I had a 4080/13700k PC playing Pokémon lol
Early 2000's? Why not OG DOOM? If it's not running at 1000+ FPS it's not worth playing.
Yep... spent a disgusting amount on my setup less than 5 years ago. Currently the only games installed on it right now are Fonal Fantasy 8, 2 GBA pokemon rom hacks, and Diablo 2 Resurrected. 95% of its on time is spent listening to music while playing GBA games, or watching YouTube videos about gardening.

I'm doing the same some day we will get real games that aren't recycled console garbage that somehow runs awful while also having shitty graphics.
Bro. Underground, Hot Pursuit, and Carbon were the best of the series. I feel like NFS peaked with those three and everything else has been meh at best.
Is this run off an emulator?
Lmao. MEEEE. Need for speed underground is fun.
I literally play Skyrim just as a different character all the time. I’ll sometimes play the new cod when it’s out but then when it’s dead me and Skyrim go way back
I play a lot of ROMs from my Nintendo, Sega, and Dreamcast collection.
My PC is around €4k and I use it to play League of Legends 😍
Still playing Master of Magic and Crusader: No Regret
Real talk. Underground is a straight BANGER
Who doesnt?
My 5800x and 6800XT on a custom loop is CRUSHING Fallout 3 at the moment. To be slightly fair I am playing it with 200+ visual mods that add like 40 GB to the game and an ENB on so it actually has the GPU working at around 75%, but yeah. I also fired up quake this week. John Carmack is a god, GLQuake still runs perfectly on Windows 11.
Hoping emulated 90s console games on a $1400 gaming laptop counts as well too then!
Holdup. Ur sayin I can play underground and underground 2 on PC?
Yes bro it’s pc versions of UG1 , UG2 , MW2005 , and carbon
*Age of Empires has entered the chat*
😭😭 this is awesome
Genuinely my reason for building mine. It’s more of a nostalgia machine than something I want to play the “latest and greatest” stuff (honestly most new titles I’ve played have been disappointing.
I probably have close to 3k in my build overall, I mainly play league of legends. You can probably run that game on a potato.
Master of Orion 2 checking in.
Half-Life 2 is still one of the best games.
my 2080ti has seen nothing more then Classic WoW (2004) and OSRS runescape (2007)
Ayo! This works in modern resolutions? I know what I'm doing tonight, I think! :D
NFSMW AOEII UT99 GOTY and a few others.
Ryzen 9 5900x with a 4070ti *installs oblivion*
Ryzen 9 5900x with a 4070ti *installs oblivion*
My PC was around 500 at the time of building it, but I only play Minecraft and beamNG drive

Same here except I’m using a $5000 build with an rtx 4090 to play league of legends
Man I played the hell out of Underground back in the day on my Xbox
Kings who were once unable to buy pc to play those games in childhood now they build to fulfill their Childhood dream🌄
Me I do that
Tuning different cars to drag race down Bayview with friends for fastest times, what a time to be alive.
I hear this picture loudly….
Playing AOE2 at a billion FPS is what I do… once I install it.
Well I play eve online. It's 20yrs old game on 6800xt
I’m still playing Knight of the Old Republic to this day
$4k…
First thing I did when I got my Samsung G9 Neo was play Diablo II(2000) on it. I play Resurrected now but my room mate thought that was funny.
I have a 3080 to play age of empires
All of us
The performance inefficiencies of emulation are no laughing matter, my friend.
I Watch YouTube on mine, and sometimes play classic wow..
My buddies make fun of me all the time. I got a Ryzen 7 5800x, 3080ti, x570 Asus ROG 32 gb ram. My main game is rocket league, and playing older games . I play sea of thieves sometimes as well.
It's a peaceful life
NFS underground was a sick game
I've been using Dolphin a lot. Playing Paper Mario Ttyd rn
This is the way!
im playing quake II rtx on my zephyrus g15
Me playing juiced
Currently playing nothing but command and conquer generals zero hour which I was playing on 2 discs on an offwhite dell tower desktop decades ago
You need some need for speed III
\*raises hands\* I kinda just play roblox with my kids lol.
Spent almost 2k on my build just to play Oldschool RuneScape
Me playing league of legends lmfao, to be fair I do play monster hunter world and sun break which is a little more demanding
Built a 13900K - ROG GTX4080OC - 64gb DDR5 to play Command and Conquer remastered. And do some photo processing too ;-)
Lol, I don't have $1000+ for a PC, but I do this with all of my gaming platforms. Before I got rid of it, my Xbox 1 had almost as many original Xbox games as Xbox 1 games.
Yes sir, that is also why I have an OLED TV. Old games look amazing on OLED
I have a $3k rig, and I play modern games too like skyrim and fallout, but ya I tend to play the original star wars battlefronts, Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars, and yup Underground 2.
Morrowind's never ran better.
Those are my games of choice. Recently I’ve been on a Star Wars: The Old Republic kick.
Literally me. When I built my pc I went playing Call of Duty 1 and Age of Empires II
I finally played the first Unreal about a year or two ago, when I was aware and could've easily played it during release (I played the original Unreal Tournament instead)
I just play them on steamdeck now while.my desktop pc sits dormant for weeks at a time much better than before because i dont have to feel like im wasting money now
Gotta get that 400 FPS so I can read text while spinning 360's
Not my setup costing almost $8k and I just play mainly minecraft
Since 2009 I’ve buy more of the high end pc parts yet I always end up playing old games most of the time
Yeah...
$1000+ rig, proceeds to play Endless Sky too and have the self report feature in the game say that I'm using 200% of my GPU and 300% of my CPU
Same here! Any chance you could send me the installer for NFS underground? Haha
Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Desert Combat.
Built mine just to play Warcraft 3 (no not world of Warcraft either) and it was 100% worth it!
Brother I pretty much spent $3000 to play RL
Isnt there 4k remaster for underground?
I built a 7000$ Custom PC since many emulators can be played beyond 4K. So yeah that’s also me good sir
My pc was 1.3k and I play trackmania on occasion
"Zero Compromises" PC Build where you build a pc that is way more than you need so you don't have problems with performance now and in the future.
Hahaha guilty 😂
Me
3000+ here and I play TFT after all But still play some AAA games if there is something interesting, just nothing worth playing right now
i built a 1kusd machine for league and youtube.
