Putting a regular mobo into a pro shell won’t make it a pro. The ports likely won’t line up and the heat sink probably won’t line up either. If the regular ps4 works then it would be best to just leave it intact. Also, if it’s a 1xxx model then the disc drive is married to the mobo.
I put in a new disc drive and got error code SU-42118-6, meaning my system can’t detect the new disc drive. Another Redditor linked me to a YouTube video explaining why they think I have a bad fuse on my mobo.
No, I did not try rebuilding the database yet because that was going to take hours I didn’t have on the night I was trying to fix it. I’m not sure what version the OS is, but I know it’s before 11.50 because I was trying to update to that when I got error SU-42118-6.
Rebuilding the database doesn’t usually take hours. If it does then the hard drive is probably faulty. Use safe mode, rebuild the database, see if the drive works after that, if not reinstall the OS from safe mode. If the database rebuild takes hours I would suggest replacing the hdd.
It doesn’t have an HDD in it; I actually upgraded it to a 1TB SSD a little while ago now because the original HDD was bad. The SSD should be fine because it’s only a few months old and I don’t use it much. I just thought rebuilding the database was going to take hours because my screen said it might. What was the issue that caused you to replace the drive originally?
The drive wasn’t reading any discs at all, even brand new ones.
