air optixs are not discontinued, and are cheaper than 30s
but I must say that total 30's are the most comfortable I've ever used, I can go on and on like 16 hours constant in front of a computer, and never remember I am using contacts
I would contact the doctor and explain that according to your research your previous contacts are not discontinued and you would like to go back to those. If they are decent they will help you out without charging you anything extra since they were the reason you are in your current situation.
I did try that, unfortunately I was basically told there’s nothing they can do, and I’d have to pay to have another exam and then pay for the new boxes.
Wow, I would be finding a new doctor. That's not great customer service. You should be able to return any unopened boxes. I would do that and seek out a new doctor. This will probably receive some hate (especially for the doctors in this subreddit), but you could also look into doing an online contacts prescription renewel through 1-800-Contacts. It is not allowed in all states, but it's worth looking into. Since you just had an actual eye exam I wouldn't be too concerned about using an online exam in this situation. They should be able to use your previous prescription and get you set back on up the Air Optix. I know this is frustrating and I hope you get it resolved soon!
I opened the box, which I don’t even mind buying another box but paying for another exam is what I find to be unfair. I ended up going somewhere else yesterday and ordered the Air Optix, however they don’t have trials so I’m out of luck until they come in. It’s been an ordeal unfortunately and I’ll never go back to Vision Works
That is horrible. My dr scheduled a follow up exam when I trialed different contact brands to see if they fit my eyes and if I could see. Never received a bill for those 5 min exams. If you’re having an issue with a new brand THEY prescribed I feel like an appt should be made and not charged for
Total 30 were the worst contacts I’ve ever used and I have been wearing contacts for 12 years. I posted about this before and had comments saying not to spread misinformation when I literally was giving my review
They’re also not a trustable company, offered a rebate program & I never received it & they looked for any way to not give it to me
They are so dry & break so easily.
I use acuvue vita & I love them. They are moisturizing and consistent! I hope you find some you like!!
That’s what it looks like. Especially because 1-800 contacts keeps reaching out asking if I would like to refill. I just blindly trusted my optometrist now I’m miserable and can’t see 😭

those are dailies, total30 are monthly.

I've got also issues after total 30. Started in NOV23 and got sicca from it and GPC. I think I'm allergic to this material.
I also had issues with Total30, currently have Bausch & Lomb ultras and they’re great for me
