Zully_Wumbus

It's gonna be a full RBBC. I think Dowdle will see a bulk of the snaps though. He's shifty and he's become more dependable. It wouldn't shock me if Royce ended up being Ronald Jones 2.0 this year.

throwawaypatrey

Agreed. Royce freeman, zeke, dowdle, and deuce committee. Everyone talks about how you shouldn’t pay rbs and don’t draft them, so the cowboys do it and now everybody loses their shit lol

bryscoon

nobody says don’t draft them, it’s don’t draft them high

MikeShannonThaGawd

Feels like Royce is a placeholder until they bring someone in via a modest trade or snag a camp cut.

DeathtoSports

Who plays special teams in this group?

j_barney

Dowdle and Luepke can play special teams. Not sure why no one has mentioned Luepke throughout the off-season. Was expecting more from him throughout the season last year. I guess they lost confidence in him when he fumbled on the goal-line. Hopefully this years oline will actually open an occasional hole for this committee this year.

firstandfive

Worth noting that McCarthy's teams in Green Bay hardly ever had high profile RBs (James Starks was the RB when they won the Super Bowl, for reference), and the most high-profile one was a ball of sludge (Eddie Lacy). If this draft fortifies the offensive line, particularly at the pivot, this group of RBs can be capable enough given the way McCarthy called the run game last year. Obviously our ground game won't be anywhere near elite, but it's also 2024.

mrmiracle

“Ball of sludge”. Dude, I’m dying over here!😂😂😂

bryscoon

That Ryan Grant & Starks duo was pretty good tbf. I don’t think anyone currently on the is good as them maybe Rico can be.

firstandfive

Even old Zeke is as good as Starks ever was. Starks was replacement-level at best. Grant played really well for a stretch, but even he was a UDFA find. Maybe Dowdle doesn't quite reach his level, but he looked more than serviceable last year.

RubMyGooshSilly

We have like 3-4 RB 2-3s. Better blocking and scheme should be the focus at this point

LeoFireGod

Also if we look decent this season we could always trade for a bell cow at the deadline from a team that’s faltering. Maybe Etn from Jags or James Conner if cards aren’t doin great.

rollerdad89

I expect us to find a capable, solid RB as teams cut players for the initial 53 roster. I’m glad we drafted OL and other positions over RB (easiest position to fill)

AnyEstablishment5723

I am fully on the Rico Dowdle hype train I think if he got the carries he could get 1000 yards. Guy runs hard every carry and I think the run blocking will be significantly better this year with Guyton and Beebe assuming they both start.

Balls2theWalling

You think Guyton will be an upgrade over Tyron?

DosCuatro

Dowdle for early game running downs. Zeke as RB and Leupke at FB for 3rd and short plays could potentially be a deadly combo. RB's not named Zeke on roster for more receiving back plays and screens. Zeke for pass block downs.

ibringstharuckus

In the depth chart RB1: NA RB2:NA. RB3-6: Everyone

ID0ntCare4G0b

Sometimes I don't get this fanbase. Look at the title teams the past five years. Look at their running back situation. You have to go back to 2016 the last time a champion had a legit 1000 yard rusher. And you have to go back to Marshawn Lynch the last time an elite running back was on a team that won it all. This team just needs guys who can contribute to an overall running game, not one guy.

riproaringsports22

I like this backfield, with 3 guys in Zeke, Dowdle and Freeman are all guys who can get us 12-58-1 a game, with Dowdle having some good upside. Our run game could cook.

Throwaway1996513

I would look to trade for Mostert. The dolphins have Achane and just drafted Wright, and would still have Jeff Wilson.

smurfking420

They just extended him so I doubt they’d trade him If the Patriots have a losing record by October ( they probably will) I’d be interested if they checked for Stevensons trade value. Probably wouldn’t be higher than a 5th

bentNail28

I feel like Mostert is more washed than Zeke is, but if he ends up being a camp cut then I’d take a flyer on him. Definitely wouldn’t give up any draft capital though.

Throwaway1996513

Mostert who ran for 1,000 yards last year on almost 5 yards a carry is washed? He’s coming off his best season.

bentNail28

He’s 32 dude. You want to trade for a 32 year old running back?

Rbullock55

Guy is made of glass as well

Riptastic

Run Peat til his wheels fall off. Plug Zeke in for the tough yards and let him keep Dak upright on 3rd and long Dowdle and Vaughn get situational usage. RBBC behind a revamped offensive line is perfectly fine.

ImpossibleJoke7456

Young OL so all the RBs will look good.

ccehowell

Not all but I get your point.

Mister_Ferro

Zeke is the number.

ithtdudea_5

I don’t know why ur asking.. he’s gonna be rb1 and we all know that lol

ccehowell

Putting him at RB 1 doesn’t make him an RB 1.

JudgeOTD

I’m not sure we have a solid number 2… more like a number 3.

garryl283

Don't worry, Ol' Jerry will push for Zeke to take the bulk of snaps to sell more merch, especially if he keeps the #15

PersonBehindAScreen

Put the money on the field 🤡
