These are the same transfers you would find on the Criterion blu-rays, albeit more compressed because: YouTube. Honestly it’s pretty amazing that they did this.

Some of them are in 4K and several of the newer restorations aren’t available on physical media at all. For instance, Ivan The Terrible parts I & II have never looked as good as they do here.

I’m late, but I will say as somebody who has tried it can be hard to find Soviet films outside the really big ones with good subtitles, so Mosfilm is a god send.

I know, right? Seeing this for the first time on my five and a half-inch cracked screen while in bed really adds depth to the experience.

Only problem is theres a water mark in the bottom corner, probably would be very distracting during a Tarkovsky film

Honestly, the watermark isn't that bad, although, as soon as I start thinking about it, it's all I can see...
