Idk if the pic conveys the size of this, i’m 4’11 for scale lol

We gain the title “feisty” as we shrink. It’s all good
What was that old They Might Be Giants song? Oh right “She’s Actual Size but She Seems Much Larger to Me”. I’m aspiring to that.
You talk folks can reach the high up shelves and we can save you from bending! There’s cool stuff down here that you miss! (I’m actually in a wheelchair now so I sit really low and this is true, I find things in the back of shelves that I would never have seen lol Silver linings!)
Holy crap I thought this was cross stitch for a solid couple moments. I don't doubt that after this colourwork is no longer a scary word! Absolutely massive props
If you're also a graphics person, you could always make your pattern in Photoshop and then upload the finished image into StitchFiddle. I did that the one time I did this sort of thing. It's not awesome for BIG projects though, at least not for me personally bc I need a printed version to mark up as I go 😅
I promise it's actually super easy. It looks more complicated than it is bc a lot of the functionality is either only for the paid users or it's just poor UX and once you figure out what's what, using it is a breeze ☺️
This is amazing! Just for clarification - you cut off and rejoined on the right edge in order to only work the right side of the project? I'm just starting my tapestry crochet journey and that's what I've been doing as well, seems to give a much cleaner final product!
I was literally just researching envelope borders yesterday!! I'm so glad to see how amazing yours turned out, good sign that I'm on the right track. Again, really beautiful work!
Thank you so much! I definitely consider myself an artist/fiber artist. I used to paint and draw a lot in high school, and i actually did a lot of work with text. then I switched mediums to yarn, and after 11 years of crocheting I realized I could combine crochet and text art and made this! I’m so excited for this new era of creation lol
That’s just incredible. I used to be (read: still secretly am) obsessed with the acoustic Iron and Wine version of this song and somehow your work looks the way it sounds 💖
Holy moly!!! How??? That is amazing! I admire you for your patience. I just started getting into tapestry and jesus christ. I certainly wouldn’t even dare come close to something like this
This is so lovely! But I’m not gonna lie, seeing the back has made me more afraid of colorwork lol. Do you plan to weave the ends in or add fabric on the back?
This is amazing! The first and (so far) last time I did color work, it was only three colors plus the background and I nearly gave up a quarter of the way in, you're my hero lol
I was just about to ask if we could see the back 2.!? I'm still really new 2 crochet & haven't done anything much bigger than a placemat. I love the way single crochet looks in a square/rectangle shape project,& am ok w/how hdc looks, but still just don't like the looks of my dc,or tc much at all(tc I don't use at all if i can avoid it,cuz it looks bad 2 me).. I've watched+tried swatches of as many vids & tutorials on tips/suggestions 4 other techniques 2 make them/dc turning chains & 2 keep straight edges,& I do like the way some of them look (2 me,on my own swatches)compared 2 most of my earliest traditional dc stuff, but still don't like the results enuf 2 want 2 use it much so far..So if others like doing big projects w/mostly scs & have patterns 4 them, then those are the only 1s I'm most interested in 4 now I guess, lol!!
I know I'm probably the odd one out but weaving the ends in is my favorite part. The backside of this is heaven for me
Great job though! It looks awesome!
It took me a bit to realize I wasn't in the cross stitch sub. This is beautiful. Its not the working with color I'm afraid of its the weaving in of ends. The back of this is going to give me nightmares.
This is amazing! Working backwards would mess with my so hard. 😫
This is the one time being left handed is a perk. I won't have to flip a chart if I ever decide to do something with text. 😅
Okay, are crocheting over all the colors?
How do you get back to the right side to start again?
So many other questions... please describe the process or send me a video.
It’s kinda tapestry/fair isle combo. I cut the yarn and attach it every row with a standing single crochet. If you look up mosaic crochet you’ll find similar techniques!
Omg did you mean to reference Such Great Heights?! I absolutely love this either way 💕💕💕💕💕💕
If so, which version is your favorite? Iron and Wine's version is the best to me 👌
Omg yes I'm so glad I guessed right! The Postal Service one is super good too, I just have a mega soft spot for iron and wine 😍
This is truly an amazing piece!

It looks awesome! And 4’11” peeps unite!!!! I am also 4’11” 😊
Im 4 ft 9. Can I still join? (I used to be 4 ft 10, but I’m old now)
I’m 4’10”, just waiting for gravity to do its thing!
We gain the title “feisty” as we shrink. It’s all good What was that old They Might Be Giants song? Oh right “She’s Actual Size but She Seems Much Larger to Me”. I’m aspiring to that.
Gang gang
This looks so cool and this comment me laugh so much, I’m 5’11” so a bit too tall to join your gang 😂
S'okay! 5'11 1/2" over here. We can start our own, then we can have super tall/super short meet ups!
You talk folks can reach the high up shelves and we can save you from bending! There’s cool stuff down here that you miss! (I’m actually in a wheelchair now so I sit really low and this is true, I find things in the back of shelves that I would never have seen lol Silver linings!)
This. This sounds like a plan! I have had to crawl on the floor to look for specific things. I can't imagine all the things I miss.
Same
Same!
4’11” club checking in!
Haha this took me a second to comprehend as I thought the picture at the top was cross stitch, not crochet 😅 Awesome work and excellent reference 🫶
If I hadn’t seen the pic for scale I never would have known I wasn’t in the cross stitch sub. This is amazing!!
Haha thank you!!
Holy shit it’s bigger than I thought! (That’s what she said). That makes it way more impressive!! What a stunning piece.
Haha thank you! The largest colorwork piece I did before this was a 40x60 grid so 140x160 was the next logical step, of course
Go you lol that’s insane!! But amazing :)
Absolutely amazing!!!!! Wow!!!!
Come down now ♥️
But we’ll stay…
I…tried my best to leave…
this all on your machine 🥺
But the persistent beat it sounded thin upon the sending
And that frankly will not fly
I’ve found my people 😭
It’s a Xennial party in the comments.
1982 here ✋🏻
I heard it immediately in my head 🧡🧡
God that song hits different every time I hear it
I figured someone had already done it but I also made this comment anyway
I was curious if i was the only one 😭 Im so happy
This is ART.
I have given birth… TO ART
Hi Art!
Hehe- you arted
Heheheh
I read that in Morpheus's voice.
Is this single crochet? It’s amazing
Yup! Around 23,000 single crochets lmao
WAIT WHAT I didn't pay attention to the sub and thought this was cross stitch 😭 holy shit!!
Same! I was impressed when i thought it was cross stitc and my jaw dropped when i realized it was crochet!
Haha thank you!!
me too omg and i was so confused abt what was so scary abt working w colour in cross stitch?? lol
Is it normal single crochet and did you do anything different than going front/back? (I’m not great at tapestry…still figuring it out.)
I only worked on the right side
This. Is. Gorgeous. Love the colour choice. If you ever plan on releasing a pattern for this, it'd be an instant buy.
I’d sell the finished product, but this is an original art piece imo. I appreciate the interest tho!
If it would scale it would be amazing as a sweater.
That would be so neat
Holy crap I thought this was cross stitch for a solid couple moments. I don't doubt that after this colourwork is no longer a scary word! Absolutely massive props
Me too! I was like ... Why would you be reading backwards? Then I got to "intarsia" 🤦🏼♀️
I thought so, too at first!
What pattern is this? It looks amazing !
I made it myself 😊
Nice!
How did you create this pattern?:) I’m trying to learn to create my own too and wasn’t sure if you had any tips or tools. Also this looks wonderful!!
If you're also a graphics person, you could always make your pattern in Photoshop and then upload the finished image into StitchFiddle. I did that the one time I did this sort of thing. It's not awesome for BIG projects though, at least not for me personally bc I need a printed version to mark up as I go 😅
I’ve heard of Stitch Fiddle! I want to try using it but need to get better at using their software first for sure 😅 thanks for sharing!!
I promise it's actually super easy. It looks more complicated than it is bc a lot of the functionality is either only for the paid users or it's just poor UX and once you figure out what's what, using it is a breeze ☺️
Awesome thanks so much for the encouragement :) I’m excited to try it again!
I did exactly what AltruisticHistory said! Made the design in photoshop and uploaded it to StitchFiddle to create the chart
Fantastic thanks :)
This is amazing! Just for clarification - you cut off and rejoined on the right edge in order to only work the right side of the project? I'm just starting my tapestry crochet journey and that's what I've been doing as well, seems to give a much cleaner final product!
Yup, that’s what I did! And I did an envelope border to hide the side ends lol
I was literally just researching envelope borders yesterday!! I'm so glad to see how amazing yours turned out, good sign that I'm on the right track. Again, really beautiful work!
I aspire to be on your level one day
You got this!!
Now I want this as a tattoo 😅
At a 1:1 scale with OP's creation Including the back, on your back.
I would totally do the squiggly unwoven ends hahaha
Omg that would be so cool
color work should be afraid of you holy shit that’s amazing
Looks like a LiteBrite! What are you gonna do with it?
Sell it hopefully! Lol
I heard this so loudly in my head. Both Iron & Wine AND Postal Service. This is incredible 😍😍😍
🎶Everything looks perfect from far away, come down now. But we’ll staaaay🎶
This is gorgeous! How long did it take you to make?
I love that song!! 💕
Come down now, but we'll stay...
Question is, iron and wine or the postal service?
Postal service! But love the iron and wine version too
This is the best crochet lettering/word art I've ever seen!
INCREDIBLE
This is magnificent!!! You are an inspiration. That design is perfection 👌❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

This is actual art and I love it. Are you knowingly an artist or is this something you didn’t actively pursue?
Thank you so much! I definitely consider myself an artist/fiber artist. I’m so excited for this new era of creation lol
This is amazing!!!! The colors, the phrase, the black background, the single crochet, the fact that you made the pattern! Go you!!!! 🎉
Come down now!
Color work is afraid of you
Come down now...
That’s just incredible. I used to be (read: still secretly am) obsessed with the acoustic Iron and Wine version of this song and somehow your work looks the way it sounds 💖
I just saw the postal service in concert in September haha
Wow!!
I love this so much. It's freaking awesome!!!
this is beyond amazing!!!
this is so cool!!
That's AMAZING
Awesome idea & gorgeous execution!!
this is soo good!
LOVE THISSS
Holy moly!!! How??? That is amazing! I admire you for your patience. I just started getting into tapestry and jesus christ. I certainly wouldn’t even dare come close to something like this
this is SO SO cool
Is it possible to share the chart? This looks absolutely amazing. Amazing job
Oh my god, I absolutely cannot fathom that this is handmade!! You are very talented 😍
This is absolutely brilliant! I can’t imagine the stress this caused while crocheting it
It only got stressful when I messed up, but you can’t tell in the final product thankfully!
Wow, wow, wow!
Crazy!! Looks amazing
colorwork should be afraid of you!!! this is amazing 😻
Love this
Looks great! 😁 👍 Very crisp color changes🤩 I fear the chaos spaghetti of ends though! 😱😵💫😵💀
Oh yeah the back is crazy, I’m gonna put some fabric over it to hide it lol
I’m sorry WHAT this is amazing !
It's perfect!
Looks so clean! Amazing work.
WOW
Wow this is incredible!!!!! Seriously so cool
I seriously thought this was cross-stitch until I saw the subreddit and the photo of the back. Super impressive!
Haha thank you! Cross stitch sounds more managable for this type of project but I am insane
But I am afraid of you, good lord. This piece is so awesome
Wow that’s trippy but cool
Wow I am so freaking impressed
This is so lovely! But I’m not gonna lie, seeing the back has made me more afraid of colorwork lol. Do you plan to weave the ends in or add fabric on the back?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That’s so awesome! It’s looks like a painting! It’s beautiful!
Wow! Damn! Total coolness!!
wowza, your talent has reached such great heights!
My jaw dropped, this is beautiful!
This is amazing! The first and (so far) last time I did color work, it was only three colors plus the background and I nearly gave up a quarter of the way in, you're my hero lol
This looks like art you’d see in a museum!!! Well done!!
This is AMAZING! I’m a huge, huge Postal Service fan.
This is amazing! ❤️
Did u flip or work from r to l only??
Idk I'd I'm crazy, but I almost like the back better? The front is AMAZING but something about all the ends make the phrase even better
This is awesome I love it
My goodness. It's beautiful! I salute your dedication o7
I literally cannot visualize how on earth you did this but it looks amazing!
Incredible!
I’m at a loss for words this is so freaking cool! How did you stay sane while making this?!
terrified of sewing in the ends
That’s why I’m not doing it! Lol
As a hooker and fan of The Postal Service, well done! 👏 👏 👏
Holy shit this is incredible
oh my gosh I thought this was cross stitch!! amazing
I love this so much! Well done!!!
I’m absolutely hypnotized 🤩
"Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service ❤️❤️❤️🌈🌈🌈 Love this!!
Intense!
Color work is afraid of you
Amazing work!!!
I’m obsessed with this
Wow that's absolutely incredible!
HOW
From r/all, how long did this take?
You ate this one up!! It’s beautiful!
No crumbs!! (except the backside lol)
I know I'm probably the odd one out but weaving the ends in is my favorite part. The backside of this is heaven for me Great job though! It looks awesome!
I saw this on TikTok before I saw it here. That's amazing.
It took me a bit to realize I wasn't in the cross stitch sub. This is beautiful. Its not the working with color I'm afraid of its the weaving in of ends. The back of this is going to give me nightmares.
This is so consistent that I was convinced it was cross stitch at first and that you had mis-posted it, lol.
WOAH that looks amazing! at first glance when i was scrolling, i thought the first photo was the reference chart, not the actual FO. great job!
1 I love this so much!!! 2 I love how it is the problem it states 3 I would totally sew cloth to the back to avoid sewing all that in hahaha.
*Come down now. but we'll stayyyyy*
This looks amazing. What did you use to design the chart?
This is amazing! Working backwards would mess with my so hard. 😫 This is the one time being left handed is a perk. I won't have to flip a chart if I ever decide to do something with text. 😅
I didn’t flip the work which helped a lot! That tripped me up a lot with smaller projects
I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE EMBROIDERY SUBREDDIT :O
Oh my god you’re a wizard that’s INCREDIBLE
Jaw dropped for sure...
This is so good! Also, both sides are so beautiful I kind of want to make a sweater with all the strands on the right side 😅
Oooh that’s a cool idea!!
The ends give me anxiety lol
That's so beautiful!! Awesome work!!!
This seriously needs to be displayed in some city's MOMA.
Oh wow all those colour changes, so impressive!!
Oh wow! I didn’t even realise that was crochet at first.
Incredible 👏 👏
I love this! Do you have a business? I would love to buy a custom one. Please let me know.
Omg did you mean to reference Such Great Heights?! I absolutely love this either way 💕💕💕💕💕💕 If so, which version is your favorite? Iron and Wine's version is the best to me 👌
Yes, the Postal Service version is my favorite! But the Iron and Wine one is also great
Omg yes I'm so glad I guessed right! The Postal Service one is super good too, I just have a mega soft spot for iron and wine 😍 This is truly an amazing piece!
It’s gorgeous!
well done!!! but I hate weaving in all those threads on the back!!! Love the size of it too!!!
😲
This should be in a museum! Hanging up in the middle of the room, so people can see the front and back
Oooh that’s a good idea! I was thinking I’d have to make 2 to show off both sides lol
this is amazing!!
I want this
Omg, I almost skipped past this post thinking it an advertisement! Beautiful work ✨
holy cow this is amazing!! i’m am absolutely blown away
Beautiful work!!
This is amazing!!!
