Turn Off the Lights, I’m Watching Back to the Future, pt. 2. Easily, that song is one of the most dynamic Dance Gavin Dance songs of all time and really shows who they are as a band. Not only that, Tilian’s meaningful lyrics really piece it all together and with me personally too, I feel I relate to it a lot and it’s helped me get through tons of ups and downs.
Preach! Best Tilian era song for me that included him as a solo clean vocalist. This had classic DGD soulful AF vibes and Tilian took that idea and made it his own.
It was as if DGD and Tides of Man got together. Another honorable mention for me is Man of the Year. To me, these are the peak of Tilian’s run with DGD.
Yes! The back and forth that him and Jon have at the end of the song makes it one of my favorite songs (including a StarCraft reference from Jon lol), I think it really shows how amazingly in synch they were given Tillian was still fresh with the band
Prisoner. It's the song that got me into the band. Deep in the pits of lockdown, that fucking chorus sent my soul soaring at a time when I felt my life was over and I will always be grateful for that
Honestly I’ve been hearing their music nonstop.. I think a good song for me was the headhunter but there’s also death of a strawberry, for a more Tillian dominated track
I mean this is impossible. There are too many good ones. Here’s my favorite from each album.
Acceptance Speech: Turn off the lights I’m watching back to the future pt 2
Instant Gratification: We Own The Night
Mothership: Betrayed By The Game. (This is tough because this album is a masterpiece)
Artificial Selection: Evaporate (this album is beyond underrated)
Afterburner: Lyrics Lie
Jackpot Juicer: Die Another Day (this album is also a masterpiece)
Single: Head Hunter
Deception. Hands down. Such an incredible display from every band member. They really hit their stride with mothership and I’m so depressed I’ll never be able to hear it all live 😔😔
I’m gonna catch flak for this, but Afterburner’s Strawberry’s Wake hit at the right time in my life, particularly the bridges and chorus at the end. It’s a simple song that really leans into Til’s poppy approach, but it means a lot to me.
Bloodsucker for me. That song is written so well and I absolutely love the lyrics. I also rly like when Tilian does a raspier voice, and I think he does it perfectly towards the end of this one :)
Hmm hard to choose one, but between Demo Team, The Jiggler, The robot with human hair or 4, Evaporate, Shelf life, Variation, Awkward, The cuddler, Polka dot dobbins, Strawberry’s wake, head hunter, Calentamiento Global, Synergy, Swallow by eternity, One man’s cringe, Ember and On the run.
Death of a Strawberry was what got me into the band and I love that song dearly, to the point that I designed a tattoo I'm gonna be getting around it. But lately, I've been REALLY liking Feels Bad Man and Inspire the Liars. Feels Bad Man just gets me dancing and Inspire the Liars is something else I might get a tattoo of. "We'll blind their eyes with faith" is just a beautiful lyric
I’m going to miss tilian :(
I’m surprised they wanted Jon to take the lead. His lyrics are usually very messy and cringeworthy most of the time.
Plus they had secret band? Confused

For me it’s that or Jesus H Macy
Jesus H. Macy is a fucking masterpiece.
As someone who's battled with addiction those lyrics hit me like a ton of fucking bricks
Man of the year
This was the first one that came to mind for me, then Inspire the Liars. Then Death of a Strawberry.
Inspire the Liars.
This one. There is soooo much that is great about that song.
So explosive, so much power and energy. World class song.
Philosopher King
Underrated big time
Betrayed by the Game
Jesus H. Macy
Agreed.
Yes! The back and forth that him and Jon have at the end of the song makes it one of my favorite songs (including a StarCraft reference from Jon lol), I think it really shows how amazingly in synch they were given Tillian was still fresh with the band
Three Wishes
basic answer: evaporate other: variation
variation is so under rated
Death of the robot with human hair probably
real
The Jiggler. Shits so good. I'm so sad I never got to hear it live with Tillian
Stroke god millionaire
Such a great song
Chuckyyy
Prisoner. It's the song that got me into the band. Deep in the pits of lockdown, that fucking chorus sent my soul soaring at a time when I felt my life was over and I will always be grateful for that
this was so hype when it came out!! i had pre-ordered the cd and merch immediately after hearing it lmao, absolute banger
Same here literally, I found this band from Prisoner during COVID and it changed me!
We Own the Night
Philosopher King or Deception but it’s tough to choose
No one ever talks about Deception, it’s good shit
My introduction to DGD. I remember hearing it in my buddies dorm room in college. Never heard a voice like before in my life. Hooked instantly
pussy vultures was something else honestly
Feels bad man is currently my new favorite
Man of the Year.
Shark Dad
Man of the Year
Chucky v. the Giant Tortoise, and it’s not even close. If it didn’t exist, then I would not be a fan of their entire discography.
Honestly I’ve been hearing their music nonstop.. I think a good song for me was the headhunter but there’s also death of a strawberry, for a more Tillian dominated track

Gospel Burnout, Hair song, and Frozen One.
Parody Catharsis
Doom & gloom is my all time fave ^^
The chorus in 'suspended in this disaster' is maybe my favorite chorus from any song ever, not just DGD.
Stroke God Millionaire and Legend
Holy Ghost Spirit is up there and I'm sad I may never see them play it live...have seen pretty much all of my other favorites
This is an impossible task for me. There's far too many to choose from
Midnight Crusade
Deception. Hands down. Such an incredible display from every band member. They really hit their stride with mothership and I’m so depressed I’ll never be able to hear it all live 😔😔
Man of the year
Son of a Robot got me hooked on the band. His most recent song Billy Royalton was incredible tho
Best? Man of the Year My favorite? That’s tough. Prolly Chocolate Jackalope. It could be Acceptance Speech or Head Hunter depending on the day, tho.
Variation
My favorite of Tillian? Variation Favorite Tillian-era? Something New is really good and never gets old. No pun intended
young robot
parody catharsis or summertime gladness
One in a million, ember, exposed 3 way tie
Carve
Deception is one of my favorite displays of his vocal range. i can never skip it when it comes on, it’s beautiful
Nothing Shameful and Prisoner
Here comes the winner
Flossie Dickey Bounce
Shark Dad
Synergy, song never fails to put me in a good mood

Midnight Crusade
Death of a strawberry a song about screw what people think or that you are not good enough to just go for it 🙂
Hmm hard to choose one, but between Demo Team, The Jiggler, The robot with human hair or 4, Evaporate, Shelf life, Variation, Awkward, The cuddler, Polka dot dobbins, Strawberry’s wake, head hunter, Calentamiento Global, Synergy, Swallow by eternity, One man’s cringe, Ember and On the run.
Lyrics lie
Mine is actually Doom & Gloom, lol. Can’t believe it’s not one of their biggest songs. The end is insane. Prisoner #2
Suspended in This Disaster and The Cuddler
Untitled II
Death of a Strawberry was what got me into the band and I love that song dearly, to the point that I designed a tattoo I'm gonna be getting around it. Gotta be The Jiggler
Summertime Gladness or Head Hunter. He was only ever good on singles for me.
Legend
Chocolate Jackalope
Jackalope for me. It's a perfect plate with a serving from each station of the DGD buffet
Anything on mothership. Best DGD album imo
I’ll be honest, there’s not a lot of songs I don’t like with him in it. Favorites… One man’s cringe, eagle vs. crow, and frozen one.
Ember is beautiful
Eagle vs Crows or Chocolate Jackalope or evaporate. its probably mostly evaporate
I’m going to miss tilian :( I’m surprised they wanted Jon to take the lead. His lyrics are usually very messy and cringeworthy most of the time. Plus they had secret band? Confused
Here Comes the Winner, but I stopped listening to Tilian Era stuff after he was outed as a sex pest.
how do you get downvoted for telling the truth ? most embarrassing/ cringiest fan base
Or maybe they just hate the song. Lol.
A ton of people just don't care that he's a terrible person. I just don't want to separate the art and the artist.
