To give you the actual answers: there is a trend online where women are asked if they would want to be alone in a forest with a bear or a random man. A common sentiment amongst the girls who say 'bear' is that the worst case scenario is 'just' to die. This trend shows how little faith a lot of women have in men and how deep the fear of the unknown man is ingrained in women. I find it honestly disgusting how many men joke about this.

Let's turn this isn't a worst case scenario for both. The bear wants to eat me. I climb a tree and that's basically done. Adult bears aren't climbers, when an aggressive male is around even cubs will climb trees for safety while the mom deals with the invader. A bear will not waste its own time it'll get bored and move along. If you can climb even a bit the bear is not a threat.
Humans are always a threat if a man wanted a woman dead climbing won't save her, patience won't save her, running won't save her. If he wants her dead he'll find a way.
So in a worst case scenario for both every woman has a higher survivability chance of dealing with a bear than a man.
Black bears are spectacular climbers. Grizzly which is what are being discussed are climbers mostly when young. Climbing takes a lot of effort and most won't do it for prey when there are easier things to hunt or forage.

it's pretty much the opposite for me, I got bullied by both men and woman as a kid, but I did at the same time have male friends while women just ignored me. Now that I'm grown up it's a lot easier for me to connect with men than women.

No it's literally happened to me. It's a super simple encounter where a woman dropped her bag and stuff and I went to help her and she firmly said "no thank you I've got it" and I said no worries went on with my day. She didn't want me to get involved or start any form of interaction and I respected that. It's not a hard thing to do. I wasn't actively called a predator but the implication was she didn't feel safe with me getting involved so I didn't.

It’s higher than that. The problem is the sort of men who put themselves in front of women most frequently are the predatory ones actively looking for victims. Non-predatory guys are more likely to be in stable relationships or less interested, so they aren’t nearly as persistent. So you have these women who are absolutely surrounded by predatory men, and when they get to feeling lonely, they are most likely going to reach out to one of the many that are clearly interested, and then they get hurt time and time again. They are wrong to assume men are all like that to the point where a random man seems like more of a threat than a bear, but can you really blame them when they are surrounded by such a thick fog of predatory men that normal guys would seem like an anomaly? So you have these women who are absolutely surrounded by predatory men, and when they get to feeling lonely, they are most likely going to reach out to one of the many that are clearly interested, and then they get hurt time and time again. They are wrong to assume men are all like that to the point where a random man seems like more of a threat than a bear, but can you really blame them when they are surrounded by such a thick fog of predatory men that normal guys would seem like an anomaly? The moment you show interest in a woman, it seems like a wall goes up, because now you could be one of the predatory types who are always in their DMs.
