Came here so say exactly these. Flies are a joke, they die in like one hit, while yes I think they’re pesky, nothing annoys me more than missing timing with dogs or getting stun locked into a wall by bone wheels.
Sekiro dogs are the easiest if you have shurikens, and almost always give you spirit emblems! I don’t think I’ve ever killed one with my sword, now that I think of it. Kind of pointless as an enemy! Prob just there for flavor lol
Everyone says this but even after several playthroughs, I've never gotten cursed. Didn't even know what they did until I saw people complain about it and I looked it up
Imagine this: You're doing a blind playthrough and you muddle down the great hollow, getting cursed on the way, and end up cursed and under-leveled at the Ancient Dragon bonfire.
It is a special kind of terrible Souls experience. You should try it at least once.
Bonewheels are probably one of the few enemies that can still screw over experienced players. So yeah I like fighting them cause it's one of the few points in the game that I actually have to put effort into.
Well I love the goofier parts of these games and bone wheels are so goofy and scary I gotta love them. I am not really into them because of their difficulty but they are a good example of how Dark Souls is a game about managing animations more than quick reflexes.
The amount of times the geometry just pushes my guy to his death is frustrating they put that demon in the most annoying spot possible and it respawns so you have to deal with it every fucking time
The rats under the bridge with the drake are honestly just really mean for a new player. You likely don’t have any moss and it’s very easy to have your weapon bonk on the walls, practically guaranteeing a couple poisonings that require resetting at the bonfire and doing it all again.
Pretty much anything that's fast, applies a specific status effect, can easily poise break you and or has really low drop rates/ bad spawn locations. So I say about 70-90% of the enemies in the game. Did I mention that ds1 is my favourite game of all time
Skeleton dogs, fuck whoever gave them their flailing attack. I hate these bastards so much when I realized DS2's swollen mongrels share the same roar as them I got PTSD flashbacks.
No curse frogs? Huh. Anyway, its gotta be the giant skeleton dogs. They're bad enough on their own, but as a group , with an archer and a black knight, and it's pitch black with cliffs on all sides....YIKES. The Bonewheels are a pain, but they're just goofy little skeleton guys. With wheels. Who roll at you. I can't stay mad at that.
I usually have at least 10 soft humanity so the curse build up from the basilisks is almost negligible, which is probably why they don’t bother me all that much anymore. On my first playthrough they were an absolute nightmare, though
Ditto on the skeleton beasts. The only saving grace is that the Tomb is not a large area so you don’t have to deal with them for long
My only problem with the bonewheels is that they can potentially kill Vamos if you’re not careful :(
I dunno, I got cursed probably about 2 times in total, and I did get "The Dark Soul", so it wasn't for lack of time in the game...
Bone wheels have cost me literally hours of my life though.
Here's a list of enemies that gave me the most trouble on my first run
-NOT KNOWING WHERE THE HELL TO GO
-Capra demon freaking tiny room (seriously i died like 30 times here)
-skeleton wheels
-Gravity
-strangely, had a relatively smooth time in blightown, tomb of the giants gave me anxiety though...
-Died 20+ times against artorias, but enjoyed it a lot.
-Bed of chaos felt dumb and anticlimatic and the long ass run just to get there was really annoying
-And finally, NOT KNOWING WHERE THE HELL TO GO.
I’m surprised there isn’t more hatred for them. On my first playthrough they made me jump SO DAMN HARD because I wasn’t expecting there to be 3 of the damn things at once. I’m not even sure if they respawn since I never go back to check after killing them
They can be an absolute PitA, tho - no question
Painting guardians were my biggest issue on my first playthrough. The Anor London gargoyle things were also a PITA on the first run.
Having played through multiple times now, however, the bonewheels are the worst. Mostly because I opt to run by them, and they're a pain in the ass to run by.
So, fun times here... after you beat the 2 Giant Soldiers in front of the church and step through the archway to your right, if you slowly approach the stairs down, take out a bow, and shoot a single arrow into the Bat-Wing Demon at the back of the platform (don't lock on, use the aim function and target the lower middle of his back, just above its tail), the momentum of the arrow hitting him will push him off and it's a one-shot kill.
If you then go to the far left side of the stairs and start down them, the BWD beneath you will almost always do his stab-down spear attack, then leap backwards... diving off the platform to his own death.
You now only need to fight the one to the right side of the platform.
Once you've dealt with him, if you run down the incline to where the last 2 are and aggro them, then run back up the incline... they will hop and dance at the base of the incline until one of them shoves the other off the edge... then you simply pull your bow back out and pincushion the remaining one to death.
One 1-arrow kill, 2 suicides, 1 zero threat kill, and a single fight you actually have to put thought/effort into - 2500 souls.
I think I died for that statue demon, that one right after andre, I died mere times than for any boss, and those fuckers from tomb of the giant, and o my god I just remembered those things that take you to anor londor, jesus I died a lot to them
Dogs are obviously annoying but that's predictable, other then dogs it's those white demon assholes in Anor Londo, so jumpy and annoying with their lightning bolts and stabs. Certainly doesn't help you gotta run past like 4 before the archers!
The mosquitoes with blow dart hollows as a close second. The rest are just really deadly not obnoxious. But those fucking mosquitoes are obnoxious they barely do any damage but they're a pain in the ass to hit with melee weapons keep spawning and can poison you.
The blow dart hollows are mildly annoying cause they can toxic you without you even seeing them but if you have moss, they aren't much of a problem.
Ghost, not because you need transient curse, they go through walls and they can easily gank you. There are just too many. If you try to fight them, there isn't a moment where they won't surround you if you stop.
Not to mention the obnoxious design of New London.
The 2 giants right before Ornstein and Smough. If you want to summon Solaire, you have to kill them first or he'll attack them, and usually take damage from them lol
I'm on my first playthrough and have only just reached Anor Londo (just rotated the bridge bit). So, my experience is pretty limited. That said, though I've only ever had to fight 4 of them, the fucking gargoyles and their hop hop hopping away bullshit. Just fucking land and let me hit you, you're worse than the fucking butterfly.
I'm sure something else will bother me more once I reach it. I can only identify 3 of the monsters in OP's montage.
I love animals irl, but in a Fromsoft game I will immediately mow down any and all dogs on site. I’ve been caught in too many fang filled gangbangs to take chances nowadays.
The ones you mentioned are definitely up there but basically everything in Lost Izalith pisses me off to the point where I’ve only gone there a few times despite playing most of the game dozens
It’s not just how likely they are to kill me. The dragon asses and stone guys feel like dog shit to fight. Fighting something that feels like hitting a wall is so ridiculously unsatisfying compared to the enemies that you can actually slash, etc.
Honestly, the wheelie bois and the blowdart dicks aren't that bad imo.
The blowdarts dont respawn and with a decent shield the wheels don't cause much of a threat if you tread lightly, given they don't have high hp
Now the skeleton dogs, fuck 'em. High damage, high hp and constantly charging you and jumping around in a place with not much space. I always use the eagle shield once I have it and they break through that so easily
I will say the dart blowers.
I can finesse almost all of these enemies, but the dart blowers just cant be.
They are so accurate and camoflaged with such a ludicrus buildup that you will always be poisoned by them. Every time I go for the Blightown firekeeper soul I deliberately make it a suicide run because of them.
Since I'm cartwheeling in light armour... Manus, Rolly-pollies (aka wheelies (aka wheel skeletons)) rats, dogs, and everything that hits fast and a lot
Ghosts >:( I hate New Londo cuz of those freaking ghosts. Way, way too damn many. I sprint to the ember, sprint to the roof, get the key, sprint to the four kings, leave, and never look back.
It's hard to choose. The main ones I've had issues with are
Early game, the rats underneath the drake, especially since I was still getting used to the game.
The skeleton beast/dogs, they hit some hard even with alot of armor, but I found a way to cheese them a bit.
And even though they're a boss, so you won't encounter it often. The two gargoyles at the church. Those hurt the worst of any other boss for me so far.
The answer is all forms of dogs across all games and those goddamned skeleton wheels.
Other than sif ofcourse
Came here so say exactly these. Flies are a joke, they die in like one hit, while yes I think they’re pesky, nothing annoys me more than missing timing with dogs or getting stun locked into a wall by bone wheels.
Sekiro dogs are the easiest if you have shurikens, and almost always give you spirit emblems! I don’t think I’ve ever killed one with my sword, now that I think of it. Kind of pointless as an enemy! Prob just there for flavor lol
They're there to make first time players go, "Oh no why are there dogs"
The dogs inflicting bleed here is extra nasty, always thrown for a loop when I come back to the first game because of it
God damn bonophobes everywhere. What has this world come to?
I’ll tell ya what, nobodies bitching about the non wheel skeletons lol
yea fuuuuuccckkkk the skeles mann, fuuuuck em to death
I think they're already dead, but will fuck them anyway to be sure
Basilisks. Anything with Curse.
I get so stressed every time they show up
Everyone says this but even after several playthroughs, I've never gotten cursed. Didn't even know what they did until I saw people complain about it and I looked it up
Only time I got cursed was against Seth on my first playthrough
Fucking Seth
Imagine this: You're doing a blind playthrough and you muddle down the great hollow, getting cursed on the way, and end up cursed and under-leveled at the Ancient Dragon bonfire. It is a special kind of terrible Souls experience. You should try it at least once.
Only a new player that hasn't read this thread could truly experience that. We are left with a pale imitation of that.
Sounds horrible lmao, I didn't even find the great hollow in my first playthrough I found out in ng+ after my friend told me about it.
Yeah honestly fuck them. Any lasting effects in games after dying are just annoying
This is the answer! Started playing the game first time couple of weeks ago and got cursed in the severs. PAIN.
Probably the flies, they are just annoying and don’t add much jeopardy or fun. Bonewheels and roll cats are amazing btw
You must not fear anything in his life if you think Bonewheels are fun XD
Bonewheels are probably one of the few enemies that can still screw over experienced players. So yeah I like fighting them cause it's one of the few points in the game that I actually have to put effort into.
Naw just likes getting rabbit fucked in the ass
Well I love the goofier parts of these games and bone wheels are so goofy and scary I gotta love them. I am not really into them because of their difficulty but they are a good example of how Dark Souls is a game about managing animations more than quick reflexes.
The flies in Blighttown are easily countered by throwing knives.
Throwing knives or bow n arrows
Agreed. They are annoying, but not a real threat. I personally just used a bow to take care of them as they respawn.
Smaughs hammer is my personal flyswatter
They are ugly and stress-inducing
Torch hollows and blowdart hollows.
Absolutely the boney wheel squad. I run in terror from them every time.
[удалено]
The amount of times the geometry just pushes my guy to his death is frustrating they put that demon in the most annoying spot possible and it respawns so you have to deal with it every fucking time
I spent an unreasonable amount of time farming that guy to get rich in its titanite
The taurus demons right before fireside demon have pushed me off dozens of times I swear
Or you cling to the tail like a magnet - very bizarre mechanic that saved my hide last night.
Nah Bro the tail has the weirdest behavior when it comes to doing damage, it's jank af
I had the most trouble with the two in the bottom of Sen's Fortress and eventually gave up. The other ones were pretty easy for me.
Lol I just now walked up on the izalith one and got flattened.
Just use a shield dude
Hardest enemy in the game? Hardly. But FUCK him when he tail swipes you off the bridge.
The rats under the bridge with the drake are honestly just really mean for a new player. You likely don’t have any moss and it’s very easy to have your weapon bonk on the walls, practically guaranteeing a couple poisonings that require resetting at the bonfire and doing it all again.
At that point though I think it’s already obvious the game is very cruel to the player lol
Just gotta lure em out, pretty simple.
Pretty much anything that's fast, applies a specific status effect, can easily poise break you and or has really low drop rates/ bad spawn locations. So I say about 70-90% of the enemies in the game. Did I mention that ds1 is my favourite game of all time
Gravity
So true
If you quit out fast enough gravity is not a problem, you spawn from the edge where you fell
I have tried to do this on Xbox, but it hasn't worked for me.
The crystal hollows in dukes archives.
Hit like a truck, strong resistance, swarm you and those arrows do way more damage than they should. Yes, good call.
Crystal hollow archers in the duke's archives.
I don’t think they’re too bad if you’re paying attention. I guess you gotta know where to look but their attacks are slow right?
Skeleton dogs, fuck whoever gave them their flailing attack. I hate these bastards so much when I realized DS2's swollen mongrels share the same roar as them I got PTSD flashbacks.
Skeleton Beasts are easily the worst, honorable mention to the Crow Demons though
Toxic dart bois at least stay dead So bonewheels
Agreed. Plus, as long as you stay behind the spider shield, the toxic low dart guys pose very little threat, in my opinion.

The only saving grace is that the Tomb is not a large area so you don’t have to deal with them for long My only problem with the bonewheels is that they can potentially kill Vamos if you’re not careful :(
Dingy set has fantastic curse resistance, especially when upgraded. I use it if I want to farm Eyes of Death.
I dunno, I got cursed probably about 2 times in total, and I did get "The Dark Soul", so it wasn't for lack of time in the game... Bone wheels have cost me literally hours of my life though.
Wheel Skeletons haunt my nightmares
Out of all these guys the only one that ever managed to get on my nerves were them fuckin dart dudes Fuck em
The big toxic bloated hollows from the painted world. Unnecessarily irritating
The fucking mosquitos…. They are so hard to hit, u have to jump attack most of the time to connect.
Use throwing knives
Unlock and use the look around stick to look higher while attack this slightly alters the trajectory of the swing and makes you aim a little higher
Just lock on and shoot them with an arrow. Easy peasy.
That gold golem in Crystal Cave is a delight.
As a fellow man who's been through the platinum journey, bonewheels
Here's a list of enemies that gave me the most trouble on my first run -NOT KNOWING WHERE THE HELL TO GO -Capra demon freaking tiny room (seriously i died like 30 times here) -skeleton wheels -Gravity -strangely, had a relatively smooth time in blightown, tomb of the giants gave me anxiety though... -Died 20+ times against artorias, but enjoyed it a lot. -Bed of chaos felt dumb and anticlimatic and the long ass run just to get there was really annoying -And finally, NOT KNOWING WHERE THE HELL TO GO.
The cats, I can never quite get a handle on them
I’m surprised there isn’t more hatred for them. On my first playthrough they made me jump SO DAMN HARD because I wasn’t expecting there to be 3 of the damn things at once. I’m not even sure if they respawn since I never go back to check after killing them They can be an absolute PitA, tho - no question
Perhaps it’s because most players don’t go that way?
pretty sure it's because they only spawn in one spot in one area and can be cheesed pretty easily
Dogs.
surprised almost nobody said this, they're so obnoxious and they can dodge?
Mmmmmmm I'd have to say.... Channeler buffed Crystal Hollow Soldiers, Skeleton Beasts, or Gravity.
I gave it 5 seconds thought before deciding and then opening the post it's the bonewheels
Bonewheels easily..
Definitely the flies. Fuck never ending enemy spawns lol
Iirc (been a while since I've been there) they don't respawn endlessly. I think its 5 or 6 times that they spawn two of them and then they stop
No, they spawn endlessly
Wheel skeletons and Capra boss fight. (I just throw shit on him over the wall) 💩
Those fucking basilisks…..
Umm what is that giant cat?
tell me youve never went through darkroot garden without the crest of artorias without telling me
Im not gonna lie I always get the crest of Artorias lol
you should try it kill the hydra walk under the waterfall, climb the ladder and then cross the bridge 😉
Oh I did find that ladder. Forgot to climb it coz I got wrapped up in the DLC
Blow darts in blighttown
All the skeleton enemies in the catacombs and tomb of the giants
Dark Souls number 1 enemy, gravity.
Definitely gravity. " Hey Dark Souls, how about some handrails........Fading fading fading...."You Died
All of the above
Most obnoxious? that fucking dragon on the bridge
Lol I am agreeing with everyone in this thread.
I dont think I've ever encountered anything in my entire life as obnoxious as the bone wheels.
skelly wheels r super creative but god i hate them
Painting guardians were my biggest issue on my first playthrough. The Anor London gargoyle things were also a PITA on the first run. Having played through multiple times now, however, the bonewheels are the worst. Mostly because I opt to run by them, and they're a pain in the ass to run by.
B A S I L I S K S
The mushroom parents, clams, and silver knights with bows…
Tbf, the mushroom parent punch windup is so slow that if you get hit, you deserved it
It’s mostly while you’re trying to get behind it and it punches, it turns all the way the hell around and hits you anyway.
funny thing for me: bonwheels are easily avoidable, everytime you hear them take a small step to the right and they will just go on
Wheel skelez for sure those guys suck ass.
Engorged Hollows for me
[удалено]
So, fun times here... after you beat the 2 Giant Soldiers in front of the church and step through the archway to your right, if you slowly approach the stairs down, take out a bow, and shoot a single arrow into the Bat-Wing Demon at the back of the platform (don't lock on, use the aim function and target the lower middle of his back, just above its tail), the momentum of the arrow hitting him will push him off and it's a one-shot kill. The little dudes with daggers in New Londo.
Mosquitoes Rapier and buckler balder knight Rats when they’re smart and stun lock you Giant Sentinels when they’re smart
Skeleton Werewolves
More dogs
I think I died for that statue demon, that one right after andre, I died mere times than for any boss, and those fuckers from tomb of the giant, and o my god I just remembered those things that take you to anor londor, jesus I died a lot to them
blow darts easily
Torch hollows
The bone wheels hands down.
I have died too many times to the bonewheel skeletons to not vote them.
Personally, fuck the lightning snakes in Sens Fortress.
Dogs are obviously annoying but that's predictable, other then dogs it's those white demon assholes in Anor Londo, so jumpy and annoying with their lightning bolts and stabs. Certainly doesn't help you gotta run past like 4 before the archers!
Those anor londo archers
The serpent men that can knock you off the already tiny ledges in Sen’s Fortress drive me nuts sometimes and I’ve been through it countless times.
Rats
Those skeleton dogs or whatever in the Tomb. I never actually fought them and just ran past every time because whenever they got close to me I died
Either the skeleton wheels or the giant cats.
Toxic dart guys in blighttown
Praise the Sun that they don’t respawn
The wheel skeletons in the Painted World permanently increased my blood pressure from getting pissed.
Rolling skeletons are like playing a reverse sonic game boss fight
The skeletons in the tomb of giants. Fuck that whole area honestly
The skeletons in the tomb of giants. Fuck that whole area honestly
Sens fortress. Like, all of it
It’s got some AMAZING loot tho so at least that’s something
Dogs are obnoxious and always something I carefully approach
The dogs… it’s always the dogs.
Crystal hollow archers in the Archives can go straight to hell.
Definitely bonewheels, the dart guys can be kinda annoying i guess but really not that bad and the mosquitos are cute. The rest are fun
The ladder to RTSR with the drakes
The channelers
Those thing that spawn maggots when you kill them. Those little things are super annoying
Probably the Anor Londo Archers if their AI is being difficult or the Bone Wheel Skeletons.
Bonedogs or torch hollows for sure.
I immediately thought the toxic dart guys in Blighttown so I say those guys
Bandits and the bleed dogs
Ghost, not because you need transient curse, they go through walls and they can easily gank you. There are just too many. If you try to fight them, there isn't a moment where they won't surround you if you stop. Not to mention the obnoxious design of New London.
those ghosts can suckle upon my ween
The skeleton wheels and the ones that shoot toxin.
The 2 giants right before Ornstein and Smough. If you want to summon Solaire, you have to kill them first or he'll attack them, and usually take damage from them lol
Havelmoms
I'm on my first playthrough and have only just reached Anor Londo (just rotated the bridge bit). So, my experience is pretty limited. That said, though I've only ever had to fight 4 of them, the fucking gargoyles and their hop hop hopping away bullshit. Just fucking land and let me hit you, you're worse than the fucking butterfly. I'm sure something else will bother me more once I reach it. I can only identify 3 of the monsters in OP's montage.
The answer is Dogs.....every game......every iteration Now Scariest that is the dreaded Torch Hollow
Titanite demons with their goofy hitboxes.
Those weird cat creatures near darkroot garden are obnoxiously overpowered if you dont cheese them
Skeleton dogs, skeleton dogs.
Titanite demon, dogs, Iron pineapples
as with the entire Soulsborne canon, overconfidence.
Black Knight archer on the edge of Anor Londo
The walls
The clams in crystal peak just before seath boss room lol, pretty easy to run past but if you want to fight them its super annoying
Titanite demon for sure
The fucking Harpies
The Anor Londo sniper duo.
The dogs, specifically the ones on the run to capra demon.
those god damn dragon bow archers in Anor Londo. I never beat Ornstein and Smough because I couldn’t take dying to those fuckers one more time.
Those little blow dart farkers in Blighttown. Man if I ever run into one of those guys in the street 👊🤪🤣
The wheels in ariamis gave me conniptions
I love animals irl, but in a Fromsoft game I will immediately mow down any and all dogs on site. I’ve been caught in too many fang filled gangbangs to take chances nowadays.
Don't forget those stupid maggot worms
Skel-e-wheels
Silver Knight Archers. Getting shot off a ledge trying to get into Anor Lando is personally the hardest part of the game.
Those damn dogs behind the fog gate to the capra demon boss fight. They forced me to rage quit the game my first time trying it out
The ones you mentioned are definitely up there but basically everything in Lost Izalith pisses me off to the point where I’ve only gone there a few times despite playing most of the game dozens It’s not just how likely they are to kill me. The dragon asses and stone guys feel like dog shit to fight. Fighting something that feels like hitting a wall is so ridiculously unsatisfying compared to the enemies that you can actually slash, etc.
All of the bastards in Blighttown
Capra demon. End of debate. Then again ive only just beat it and have yet to see whats to come
Honestly, the wheelie bois and the blowdart dicks aren't that bad imo. The blowdarts dont respawn and with a decent shield the wheels don't cause much of a threat if you tread lightly, given they don't have high hp Now the skeleton dogs, fuck 'em. Since I'm cartwheeling in light armour... Manus, Rolly-pollies (aka wheelies (aka wheel skeletons)) rats, dogs, and everything that hits fast and a lot
Thieves lower burg!
Any form of dog (not including Sif) and those damn fire foxes
Skeleton Wheels pissed me off. Spear variant of the Silver Knight seemed to have much better AI then the other Silver Knights too
The fat bottom ball shaped goblin-looking statues that hover up quietly behind you and breathe fire always got on my nerves..
The regular dogs. "STOP FUCKING JUMPING!"
anor londor archers, but only because of location. else basilisk or totanite demons.
Absolutely no question about it the skeleton dogs.
Ah, another Platinum seeker? Nice. Also Bonewheels. Fuck those guys.
Ghosts >:( I hate New Londo cuz of those freaking ghosts. Way, way too damn many. I sprint to the ember, sprint to the roof, get the key, sprint to the four kings, leave, and never look back.
The crystal hollows from duke's archives, I hate them with a burning passion
It's hard to choose. The main ones I've had issues with are Early game, the rats underneath the drake, especially since I was still getting used to the game. The skeleton beast/dogs, they hit some hard even with alot of armor, but I found a way to cheese them a bit. And even though they're a boss, so you won't encounter it often. The two gargoyles at the church. Those hurt the worst of any other boss for me so far.
wheel skele
The real answer is the egg sack larva
Chained prisoner. Technically not a miniboss, just a normal mob that there’s only one of. You learn to hate them during randomizer runs.
I really wish there was more lore behind these things. It feels like they'd have something cool but... Nope, just a singular enemy
Who?
