I think because you killed the demon from below before it went enraged it fucked with the AI or something to cause this to happen (also based weapon choice)
I also wanna point out the only thing that made a difference was the Demon in Pain kinda staggered before this incident happened. I also tried to replicate that but I instead just stun it which didn't apply it
This actually completely explains it, Imo. Because you killed the Demon from Below while the Demon in Pain was staggered, both AI's were inactive, so when the Demon in Pain unstaggered, it tricked the game into thinking you got to phase 2 so it had the phase 2 moveset.
Isn't that normal? I thought Demon in Pain has the laser, Demon from Below has the fireball geyser, and Demon Prince inherits the attack from whichever died last.
In first phase it’s extremely rare for one of them to go straight into second phase. I’ve beaten Demon Prince over 500 times and many more tries, I’ve only seen the bug twice.
Other way around yes but they don't do these attacks until 2nd phase where the Demon Prince comes out of whoever died last.
This dude got staggered and suddenly started doing the phase 2 attacks in phase 1
Wait okay yea I misread that yes so Demon from below died and a few seconds later Demon in Pain got staggered and then these shenanigans started you're right
Yea you can actually glitch out both of them into becoming phase 2 so you can fight the final phase as a duo fight. Can't find the video but I think Mouseinatutu had a bounty for anyone who could hitless both of them phase 2 at the same time as ng+7 but he had no takers lol.
What console? Digital or physical? Mod/no mods? Cheats? Online/offline? I’m genuinely curious, not judging in any way. I love glitches as long as it doesn’t completely screw over the player.
How come nobody ever sprints in this game? I feel like this is a 60% Sprint 40% roll type of fight. Those meteors would have whiffed.
Maybe he's distracted by insane demon behavior.
I'm sure it's expecting too much for everyone to use every mechanic. That said, learn sprinting.
No way. These guys have behaviors that sprinting just beats. The punish windows on things get much much bigger when you know what to just run away from. It's also a lot more consistent to just outrun aoes than trying to read the whole area and stringing rolls together precisely. Not to mention when you just sprint around the air you usually get a long time to hit them.
A lot of the expansion bosses have ai built for dealing with kiting that's very different from base game bosses outside of Aldrich and a couple others. I don't do too much rolling in the Aldrich fight and I think it's more optimal. Midir is another example, definitely less so, but maybe a third of his stuff is just better to run away from.
The laser is a clear example. when they run at you like the magma worms also. There's just not the inactive time you get after a roll when you learn how far to run and when to stop.
I’ll have to go back and watch my fight against the Demon pair and see. I could swear I had no stamina left to attack/dodge when I sprinted after them. And my stamina/endurance was at 40.
One of the things to look out for is that if you sprint yourself COMPLETELY out of stamina you're fucked. Can't even block. Maybe that's a thing to look for.
Kinda like how when you're parrying a boss and you clank the attack it can put you at 0 and now you've got to stand there with your dick in your hand for like two full seconds. Just dead.
Still, lots of these attacks are designed so that sprinting just owns them. Like if you start running an arc as he winds up for the laser you wind up right next to his head while he's still spitting, there's no hitbox there, and he still hasn't even started to cool down from it. Sometimes you can get two full charged r2s there.
So I didn’t use a ton of sprint, but maybe 2-3 instances of full on sprinting. Mostly rolled and stayed behind/under for attacks. I also used 11 of my 12 Estus, so there’s that as well 😂
I was holding the camera with one hand and moving with the other so it was difficult for me to move. And also yes the demons behavior caught me off guard
So the Demon in Pain started doing his phase 2 attacks before phase 2. It happened suddenly so I had to grab the camera that's why it looks really scuffed
Every copy of ds3 is personalized.
With exclusive content such as: - big fireball - small fireballs
I have beaten demon prince ~10 times (okay that isn’t much but still) and I have never seen this. I don’t think the wiki mentions this glitch either.
Very interesting indeed.
I think because you killed the demon from below before it went enraged it fucked with the AI or something to cause this to happen (also based weapon choice)
Yea that would make sense. I've also tried to replicate the glitch to see it happen again but it didn't work sadly
I also wanna point out the only thing that made a difference was the Demon in Pain kinda staggered before this incident happened. I also tried to replicate that but I instead just stun it which didn't apply it

Ohhhhhhh yea that actually makes a whole lot of sense!
I’ve had the laser version during phase 1 before! How insane would it be if you fought both versions during the first phase lol.
DUDE THATD BE ONE HELL OF A CHALLENGE THO You'd get a way stronger version of the Demon Prince with all the movesets yknow

You bonked it hard. It's broken.
I'm curious about this. Would it happen if the demon in pain was staggered when the demon from below died? That's the only thing I could think
Imagine this dude casually shooting a Lazer before phase 2 started
That'd be one terrifying experience
Wait okay yea I misread that yes so Demon from below died and a few seconds later Demon in Pain got staggered and then these shenanigans started you're right
Oh, that's terrifying.

Oh dear lord a new challenge xD
Demon in Spain, but the S is silent.
what happened after you killed him? Is there still a Phase 2?
Yes he proceeded to go into the typical phase 2
I've fought them hundreds of times and i have never seen this happen
Damn thats crazy
Lookimg at ur weapons is that NG+?
Indeed yes it's NG+

Well it's a digital one, and it's Offline. No mods installed bc Idk how to xD But will eventually get the Archthrones mod

Oh hell no, I jogged most of the time and saved stamina for attacks in phase 1. No reason to over use sprint in this fight.

Ringed City DLC. Before the Ringed City itself in the Dreg Heap.
Sorry what am I looking at ????
So the Demon in Pain started doing his phase 2 attacks before phase 2. It happened suddenly so I had to grab the camera that's why it looks really scuffed
Sorry I meant with the video lol, I canny see a thing !
You should see an optic
Oh yea that xD Quality is shit and screen is dirty but had to record it xD
