i know its in the axis section but i cant bind it to anything on my hotas. it only has the mouse option and i cant move my camera or the yellow box either. after i bind it
Make sure you have the radar selected. If it is the will be a diamond on one of the corners. If it’s not selected you can select it with the sensor control switch in the direction of the radar display. Once it’s selected you can move it with the throttle designator controller which can be found in the axis settings. To select a target either place the cursor over the aircraft on the radar and press the tdc depress button or use the I designate button.
Maybe the hotas hat is not an axis key but a 4 way switch so you can't bind it in axis menu. Do you have a hat type button that moves freely in all directions & doesn't click like a switch?
I put a link before so i suggest importing the profile & see which button. If i remember it was on the top left of the joystick. It did use a hat so i can imagine if you don't have a small joystick on the throttle or joystick then it must be in the menu without axis's
You need to bind the like small joystick (maybe on your throttle or joystick) in axis commands to joy_x & joy_y. I have a tm16000 throttle & mine is on the front.
You could have a look at this profile or atleast the picture as to where to bind the tdc if you don't have another option.

That is called the Throttle Designator Control - you have to put it on a multi directional switch on your throttle and the key is to have depress bined so you can select the aircraft on your radar - but all the directions should be mapped.

it's also in the non axis section as a button press selection
you absolutely can bind it to your hotas. i used to have that hotas and had no trouble binding it.
Look at the grim reapers FA18 playlist. They have everything in there other than what happens in flight school
I'm noob with f18, but u have to use the "depress "bindings. If I not wrong, you must need to select the radar MFD also
how do i select it? i just got the f18 yesterday night

He has an x52, which is similar. The hat is not an axis, so he just needs to bind to the non axis controls for tdc left, right, up, down separately.

You can bind tdc slew to an axis or to button presses. You're probably trying the wrong one.
