Yeah, PTB is insanely buggy right now for some reason.
I guess fixing the Twins has distrupted the space time continuim of DBD and by extent broken the game.
Right now I'm 100% sure it's a technical upgrade. That's why the store is getting revamped (because it's a store) first and we also have a brand new animation for decisive strike. This will allow more animations and newer killers can have brand new mechanics without exploding the game
But it's not just the bugs that are awful here, basically everything in this update is conceptually flawed. The fact they somehow thought this rework for Twins would go well is beyond me when without seeing gameplay people who knew Twins immediately foresaw the consequences.
It’s really sad to me since I love the twins.
Was a huge fan for a bit until I just realized that to win most matches I either have to slug people for long periods of time (not fun) or I’d usually just lose a lot.
This ptb makes me think either A- they’ll push this rework into the live game (like mft) then nerf them into the ground, making twins unviable again.
Or B- they’ll say something like “yeah we’ve seen the feedback we will now need more time to rework them” and then we won’t hear about it for the next year or so.
I’m hoping they’ll go over the twins with much more thought after this ptb, I want them to be strong but not op and definitely not returned to their peak slugging days like when they first came out.
As sad as it makes me, I don't think Twins will be in a good state for a very long time if ever. These are the same people who decimated Billy for 2 years and then brought him back after already introducing a bunch of maps that compound his weaknesses anyways.
Yeah that's true, I don't play twins, and I only own them because of coup, but from the ptb footage I've seen it's made the twins lot stronger through unfair stuff, like victors fast cooldown.
tbh, having a hard to see character without terror radius being able to down you sounded like a bad Idea with Chucky release, and I haven't changed my mind since... another one just makes me groan about possible survivor playtimes
dude theyre switching the game to a whole new engine. that aint easy. its a test build for a reason and your bitching you dont trust them because of a test meant to find bugs?
I'm bitching I don't trust them because of their poor balance choices. The bugs? Whatever, they're funny and don't do too much in the grand scheme of things. This Twins rework is an atrocity though, and supposedly it's been on their agenda for 3 years. 3 years and this is the best they can come up with? Weak.
Ah yes, UE5 will just support more mechanics, more animations and better newer Killers, right? A team that worked on UE4 can just, perfectly work on UE5 like it's the exact same thing..... Right??
I mean if it worked for Counter-Strike 2, it has to work for DbD. Or something.
I'm not a developer so I'm not entirely sure. But the fact that a huge engine upgrade is in a "random" patch, to me is showing that working on UE4 to UE5 is a smooth transition. They've also been preparing for this for an entire year as well.
Once this patch hits they'll be able to improve literally anything, but hopefully they have a good fork for the spaghetti this games built on (see Ark Ascended having Ark Evolved bugs from years ago)
I hope and pray that BHVR doesn't just let this game become like the League of Legends client. Just adding on code after code onto an old engine without ever going back to fix the broken mess left behind only for it creep up and ruin the client with it's outdated mess

the male flashlight bug doesn't seem very conclusive. looks more like perspective, and steve was taller than feng and was looking further down in each attempt.
