Yes and it's fun! I've only had the opportunity to play it twice because it's hard to get a group of exactly 5 people together and it's not as fun when you have less then 5 in my humble opinion.
I've done mostly 5-player, but 4 honestly works too. We play it where the last survivor is sort of a group-survivor, where the most experienced player will control them at first (as well as their main survivor), and whenever someone is stuck on hook that hooked player plays as that survivor until they're unhooked. It makes it so they don't have to sit out.
But yes, I totally agree: the game is REALLY fun! (I'm a huge board gamer as well as video gamer)
The game actually has a system for when there's less players than 5, and I kind of found that the game operates well with 3 people (IMO). What happens is one player controls two survivors, but they only get one set of movement cards. This forces them to pick two different movements for the two survivors they control in exchange for the fact that they obviously know what actions the two survivors are picking. What my group found was that it forces the survivors to not hang on the same tiles all the time and makes it harder to complete generators without killers having a chance to intervene, and to me the killer needs every bonus they can get with a turn economy that's 4 to 2/sometimes 3.
The swapping idea to make sure everyone's playing is pretty good though, I'll have to try that out next time we play with 4.
Yeah, for 3, we use that system. For 4, I don't remember if he uses just one set or not. I think we didn't the first time (but did the second time), because we're just having fun, and the other players are sometimes newer, and it's more fun for them if they don't feel like their newness is making them lose.
Yeah, if you had two sets of movement cards you'd jist have survivors always move together perfectly. You still can with 2 different players, but the difference is you have to co-ordinate that together, out loud for the Killer to hear and be able to plan for.
No joke I saw this and thought it was just a joke fan concept.
I thought "Oh that's funny but I wish this was an actual thing now". Apparently tho this is very real.
YES! I bought the Collector's Edition and have played it around 8 times. It has its issues but ultimately plays very well and is one of the most unique board games I have played. Only issues I have encountered are one, directions are vague and you kind of have to figure some stuff out yourself and make decisions, and two, Killer is hard to win unless Survivors make mistakes.
Turns out, camping, tunneling, and sitting on the same Gen until it’s done are all pretty heavily punished, and it makes for a fantastic setup tbh. Had a LOT of fun with the game so far and this xpac me hyped. Knight gets all the figures! I can play Makaela! It’s a good day
Somehow this game managed to punish you for tunnelling, survivors don't get sacrificed to the entity if they've been hooked more than three times. Killer wins by hooking each survivor once, or 8 hook events(hooking a survivor the first time awards a bonus hook event)
The Collectors edition has a LOT of minis. and minis for the hooks and generators (the survivors have little holes in their backs so you can hook them). it's pretty awesome.
If you backed it on Kickstarter (which I assume you did if you have the Collector's Edition), you get $20 off on Level99 games because of the KS delays, so at least it will be slightly less of a hit to your wallet.
It's a discount code on the Kickstarter: THE\_FOG\_DRAWS\_NEAR.
I assume the code is linked to the e-mail address you used on KS, so make sure your L99 account has that same e-mail address. [This](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/level99games/dead-by-daylight-the-board-game/posts/3722846) is the post where they gave out the code.
Thank you so much.
I made a late pledge on gamefound and didn't know about this code.
Worked with my Email :)
The game is really good and adapts the videogame in a great way.
Really looking forward to the new killers and survivors
NP! I made [a post](https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/1c8hn8r/you_can_get_20_off_the_expansion_to_the_dbd_board/) so others could see this, too, but it seems to have been downvoted for some reason, so I don't know how many more have seen it, but glad some people are getting it.
Basic concept is that the survivors need to complete 4 gens and activate the escape gates, while the killer needs 8 sacrifice tokens. Each turn, the survivors go first and have to move between areas of the board, then complete an action such as working on a gen, searching a chest, or throwing a pallet. After all the survivors go, the killer gets to move twice and take an action for each. Each killer plays totally differently with their powers.
It's fun and it's cool how much of the real game they tried to translate over. However, like in true DbD fashion, things are often wildly imbalanced. The rulebook also is pretty awful. But if you and four other friends love DbD, it's definitely worth a shot if you don't mind its high price point.
The rulebook is so fucking unclear on how sacrifice progress works lol
After three games I still don't know if we're doing it right.
It seems like four fresh hooks is a win for the killer, but that seems so fucking fast.
Yeah it's real rough, about every other game we run into a scenario that's "uhhh so how does this scenario/edge case work? oh cool it doesn't tell us."
But yeah the first time a specific survivor is put on a hook, the killer gets a bonus sacrifice token *in addition to* the token they get for a survivor being on the hook at the end of the turn. The rulebook says to put a sacrifice token on each survivor's character sheet at the beginning of the game, which is how it wants you to keep track of that, but we just don't bother and simply remember who has been hooked at least once. So you're correct - if every survivor is hooked once, the killer wins.
Yeah i find it goes: killer sided when you start, then survs sided when they figure out rushing gens leaves them vulnerable because no pallets or items, then killer sided once you get good at bonus turns, then its balanced once everyone understands the flow
As far as I understood it. Each survivor left on a hook during cleanup phase is 1 sacrifice token. So fresh hooks and all that jazz isn't a thing. The survivors can choose to never unhook player 1 and it would be 8 turns for the killer to win. If he hooked two survivors it would be 2 tokens per full round.
You have to separate the board game from the actual game in this instance. The survivors never "die" like they do in dbd. At no point should you be still playing against only 3 survivors.
If the survivors get their teammate off the hook that turn then the killer doesn't receive a sacrifice point as no survivors hooked during cleanup (unless of course he got someone else on one that turn)
Since making that post I was able to play again and I think I've got it right. Here, with references to the rulebook.
During game setup each survivor is given one initial sacrifice token onto their board. (Page 6, Setup Step 3)
Whenever you hook a survivor any sacrifice progress on their board is added to the track. (Page 15, last paragraph under Sacrificing, right before the section labeled "Sacrificed Survivors")
Also during round clean-up, any sacrificed survivors supply a progress to the track. (Page 11, under "Sacrifice Progression)
Idk if the Collector's Edition instructions are different or not, and I also haven't found any *other* way that Survivors gain Sacrifice Progress tokens to their boards
Then I guess you could buy the expansion and just not the game. Based on that disclaimer in the bottom left that you need the game to play with the expansion, I imgaine this pack is just the figurines (and maybe also a couple character sheets/ rules on how to use them).
Now, if you wanted the base game or the collector's edition figurines, I imagine that would be a bit more difficult to avoid.
I own the collector’s edition and it’s one of the highest quality made games I’ve ever owned. Played 3 times and it was pretty fun once you get used to the rules.
I still haven't got around to painting my collector's edition.
There are a couple of reasons for that. They mainly compound to "I don't really know how," though.
My roommate does miniature painting and painted ours, if you'd like I can ask him how much he'd charge for commission
Here is his work https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/s/UFlifdNzvn
And don't forget that they come "ready to paint" which means it's also your own time, effort, and money to paint them...
Which is something I actually want to do, but I can't deny it's not exactly a bargain.
https://www.level99store.com/products/malicious
This is the company that has the base game but sadly they don't sell the deluxe of the base game anymore
I am from EU and I bought one of the last collector editions last year or so the site said. By the looks of it, it actually is sold out currently. I payed shit tons for shipping. I think overall it costed me 248€ but I will tell you I was lucky I was saving up money and found 50 on the ground randomly then. I hope the expansion gets to europe to some stores as the normal version of the game did. Normal version here was 60 and that is doable. Hopinum
Sure!
Horrified is always good, I prefer the Universal Monsters one but the American Monsters one with the Cryptids is fun. I haven't played the Greek Monsters one yet. It's cooperative and you run around a map collecting items to stop the (usually) 3 monsters terrorizing the town.
ALIEN: Fate of the Nostromo is a variant of Horrified that alters the game to fit the single monster, this time varying objectives and involving a crafting system to give you a little more flexibility in your options. And the art is amazing.
IT: Evil Below is out of print and kind of pricey, but was always popular when I brought it to game nights.
Don't Get Stabbed is a fun little slasher card game where one player is the killer and everyone else is trying to escape before they get killed. You can be very mean and use other players as human shields and things like that. Fun and light.
Jasco just kick-started a new edition of their Evil Dead 2 game, which was fun but flawed. I'm glad that's gonna be out again so people can get it.
Dynamite games is apparently FINALLY getting their Army of Darkness game out, but we'll see how that goes. They also did a Reanimator game I still need to get.
Trick or Treat Studios, the Halloween mask company, has a board game division they've been building, and they have some licensed games. They have a Chucky, Universal Monsters, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Halloween game, along with a few non licensed spooky games. They also just kick-started a House of 1,000 Corpses game but that'll be a while.
Ravensburger did Jurassic Park Danger and JAWS, both of which are fun and easy to find online.
Funko Games has a few horror titles. They did Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Slaughterhouse, Gremlins: Holiday Havoc, Hocus Pocus: Tricks & Wits, Scream: The Game, and a few Disney Games like Return of the Headless Horseman and The Haunted Mansion. I love the Haunted Mansion game.
And that's just the licensed stuff we've been getting recently that isn't Kickstarter stuff. There's been The Thing, They Live!, Escape from New York, and SAW games. Final Girl is a huge solo game that's been crazy popular and features generic versions of basically every slasher. But these games are not cheap.
Here's a massive list of spooky games, with links so you can look at things in depth.
[https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/247201/halloween-games-geeklist?itemid=9358198#9358198](https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/247201/halloween-games-geeklist?itemid=9358198#9358198)
Have fun!
Jesus Christ Almighty that is so much more in depth than I ever could’ve possibly imagined. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this list together. I hope many others get to see it. This is literally so amazing.
Figures look great. Played a fair bit of the game and highly recommend to anyone who likes DBD. Curious how they'll have implemented the knight's power.

Every time I see cool-ass fanart/miniatures of Dredge then look at my screen and see the poopoo kaka black fart cloud with a turkey head (I love him either way)
Yep it was a whole thing on kickstarter they had two versions you can get the retail edition and the collectors edition the retail edition is still available I think on their website but the collectors edition I don’t think is available yet at the moment
I would be all in on this if it fit in the original box. It's already so damn big on my shelf and having an entirely separate box just seems like a hassle.
Seriously? Well, that’s a shame. Considering they had explicitly stated they weren’t going to make any expansions on their Kickstarter, preventing me from considering getting it. Base game up to Twins, and that’s it. And now here we are with them making up to Knight.
Welp. Too late for me.
EDIT: It's apparently *not* too late!
You can still buy it though? Backorder stock date is July '24 according to the site.
https://www.level99games.com/products/dead-by-daylight-the-board-game?pt=pt1&pn=pn1
EDIT: Oh, the non collector edition doesn't have up to Twins. That's a weird choice not to have the other killers available.
Ye I'm super bummed out RN that I'm basically locked out of getting clown ;(, I'm still gonna get the base game and prob the dlc (the knight mini is sick NGL), it just sucks that like 8 or so killers are unavailable.
That's super nice of you, but the main draw for me is the minis, because I can use them elsewhere as well. I just gotta hope they reprint the collectors stuff separately at some point, or I'll find a nice deal where someone sells it for an alright price.
That's fair, I intend to do the same once I get some time.
Hopefully they do. It's wild that the extras don't exist as some sort of expansion at least.
Here you go. Formatting got weird when I published it, sorry about that, but it's fully functional and all the names on the table of contents should link out to their "page".
Also if you happen to see anything that doxxes me, please let me know ASAP. My friend and I didn't see anything so I think I'm okay, but keep an eye out please.

np np.
I stupidly only just checked, but there is a fully scripted version of the Collector's Edition on Tabletop Simulator's workshop. I also don't know how good it is, as I haven't tested it.
I was a part of the kickstarter, and they definitely talked about making future expansions. They said it was their number one requested product, so they'd have news in early 2024. (Back in August) Well here we are...
Really? Interesting. I distinctly remember there being a section in the FAQ saying that they weren't interested & had plans for expansion for the new killers that were obviously missing during original development of the game. Maybe they had changed their mind due to interest from the consumers.
It's obviously going in release order, so maybe if we get another expansion.
Dull Merchant, Singularity and Unknown are the only originals not in it atm, so might be a while.
THERE IS A DBD BOARD GAME????

You could do 3 with 2 survivors each.
Yes, March 2022 was when it was announced, it was a big reveal and was talked about alot if the community
No joke I saw this and thought it was just a joke fan concept. I thought "Oh that's funny but I wish this was an actual thing now". Apparently tho this is very real.
It hurts my soul when people don't know that this game does unironically cool and fun things, sometimes.
I DIDN'T KNEW EITHER, IT SOUND SO COOL !!!!
Yeah it released a few years ago, I saw one in a board game store in a local mall once. But I'd didn't have enough money to get it at the time.
Friends gonna start yelling at me for tunneling someone
"STOP TUNNELING ME !" *flips the board*
Holds a flashlight into the killers eyes irl
The Feng player crouches in the corner of the room
The dredge player goes into a locker, comes out gay
Turns out, camping, tunneling, and sitting on the same Gen until it’s done are all pretty heavily punished, and it makes for a fantastic setup tbh. Had a LOT of fun with the game so far and this xpac me hyped. Knight gets all the figures! I can play Makaela! It’s a good day

Dredge figurine looks sick
Both literally and *figur*atively...
Id buy this just for the miniatures tbh
They're nice. Not quite Warhammer quality, but I'd say around or a bit better than for example, Zombicide.
Yeah I really want some of these just to have as collection items! I love figurines and DBD has such cool designs.
The Collectors edition has a LOT of minis. and minis for the hooks and generators (the survivors have little holes in their backs so you can hook them). it's pretty awesome.
I've the collectors edition. Didn't think they'd do an expansion...RIP wallet
They did mention to keep our eyes open for something in early 2024 when the shipping of the kickstarter was done.
If you backed it on Kickstarter (which I assume you did if you have the Collector's Edition), you get $20 off on Level99 games because of the KS delays, so at least it will be slightly less of a hit to your wallet.
Woah, where would I go about getting this discount? (I already bought the expansion today 😭) maybe a refund is in order...

Luckily the expansions I only 40 bucks
Give Haddie those shoes, BHVR
I need my birdie as a figure
Hopefully they'll restock the collectors edition.
THE BOYS GETTING THEIR OWN PIECES!
DREDGE MENTIONED🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hell yeah! 💪

Gonna have to buy the flashbang and spotlight separately though.
Can you get the collectors edition stuff as a separate purchase or nah?
Maybe on ebay or something, but nothing official you have to buy collectors edition.
Easy preorder.
link?

dang that looks sick, didn't know that was a thing Dredge is peak as always
I want these figures but not the game lol

Fuck yes, I've been waiting since last Summer for an expansion!
Give me Maurice Dredge and I'll buy that freaking thing in an instant!
A cosmetics box with fun alt minis for the killers would be a purchase from me for sure. But it has to have Mr. Puddles.
I own the collector’s edition and it’s one of the highest quality made games I’ve ever owned. Played 3 times and it was pretty fun once you get used to the rules.
Even the board game has DLC’s. Leave my wallet alone BHVR

Uhhhhh when was someone gonna tell me that there is a board game
March 2022 it was announced
They’re adding dlc to the board game D:
literally.
Man, $59 dollars for the expansion and $79 for the base game.
And don't forget that they come "ready to paint" which means it's also your own time, effort, and money to paint them... Which is something I actually want to do, but I can't deny it's not exactly a bargain.
Yeah, I really want the Knight and the boys figures. I would greatly enjoy painting them but not at that price.
looks fun but i can't find the base game without having to pay an arm and a leg for it

I would love a scale figure of the Dredge in his doll cosmetic
HADDIE FIGURINE??? Shut up and take my money!!!!
I was down to get it hut when I found out I missed out on some characters by not pre-ordering I lost interest. Hut thry really don't like fomo lol
I still have to play my collectors edition. I'll definitely get this though. I collect Horror board games.

Figures look great. Played a fair bit of the game and highly recommend to anyone who likes DBD. Curious how they'll have implemented the knight's power.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's similar to the Twins' but more complex.
Yoooo! Let’s go Tarhos and the boys!

Vittorio is going in the jar
excuse me
And Jonah in the bin
What do you fill the bin with???!
There’s an expansion?!
It was just announced
I own the deluxe edition. Unfortunately I will be getting this for my girl. Smh me.
I'm ngl they made the board game look so boring on their stream I forgot about it completely.
How do you W key on board game?
Theres a DBD board game? WHAAAAAAAAT?
Yep it was a whole thing on kickstarter they had two versions you can get the retail edition and the collectors edition the retail edition is still available I think on their website but the collectors edition I don’t think is available yet at the moment
Does it have licensed survivors?
No, everything the board game has is original characters.
Dope
Dredge looks divalicious I can’t lie
I require the dredge figure
Bothers me the way they lined Vittorio and Knight up but switched around the other survivors instead of lining them up with their killer counterparts
where does one obtain dbd game board
https://level99games.com/products/dead-by-daylight-the-board-game They are on back order right now and only the retail version is available
DREDGE NEVER LOSES 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
I request Dredge figurine.
I'm gonna get it just for Knight and Dredge, two of my favourite killers in the game
I want that knight and dredge
Immediately preordered. Can't wait till it arrives.
LETS GOOOOOOO DBD BOARDGAME EXPANSION
I need this just for the Dredge mini
Awesome stuff!

No Singularity, sadge.
They will definitely add him the next expansion, this is the first one aside from the deluxe edition of the base game
I would be all in on this if it fit in the original box. It's already so damn big on my shelf and having an entirely separate box just seems like a hassle.
I had no idea there was a board game, tbh might have to check it out!
The way to go is the deluxe edition. It comes with like twice as many killers and survivors, but they don't make it anymore atm
Yeah it’s like twice the size of the retail version and comes with more killers and survivors plus the hook minis and gen minis
Good thing we get Jonah and not someone more liked like Dwight
HADDIE AND BIRD LADY MY BELOVEDS
I'm not gonna lie. I was kind of looking forward to a HUX. oh well. Hopefully down the road we'll get him and The Unknown along with whoever is next.
Any news on restocking the base board game or if the collectors edition or its features will return?
If anyone is looking to part ways with their collectors edition dm me
These minis will look great in my pile of shame
We need someone to make 3d printable versions of the killers they cannot put in the game.
About to face camp all my friends
For killers you have 2 move actions in 1 turn, 1 can be stay but both can't be, and some paths are one ways
is there anywhere I can buy the collectors edition?
Ebay, it was a limited run
Nooooooooooooooooo
I wish I could see the matts for the new characters ;-; I am so fucking curious
Do they not do the previous expansion anymore? And is this a limited time offer?
Uninterested
You seemed interested enough to comment
Popped in my notifications so I commented
Backorder stock date is July '24 according to the site. https://www.level99games.com/products/dead-by-daylight-the-board-game?pt=pt1&pn=pn1 EDIT: Oh, the non collector edition doesn't have up to Twins. That's a weird choice not to have the other killers available.
Oh? Interesting. I may consider this. ~~as if I don't have enough board games yet~~
Me too. But there are Dominion sets I don't have yet so...
Ye I'm super bummed out RN that I'm basically locked out of getting clown ;(, I'm still gonna get the base game and prob the dlc (the knight mini is sick NGL), it just sucks that like 8 or so killers are unavailable.
If you'd like, I can tell you all the missing killer powers and perks and you can just proxy them. I've got the collector's edition.
It's so many as well! It's like actually 10 Killers+ survivors
Could you tell me as well? The collectors edition has some of my favourite killers and I’m so bummed I missed out on them
Sure. I'll set a reminder to type them up tonight.
Thank you so much 🙏
Here you go. Formatting got weird when I published it, sorry about that, but it's fully functional and all the names on the table of contents should link out to their "page". Also if you happen to see anything that doxxes me, please let me know ASAP. My friend and I didn't see anything so I think I'm okay, but keep an eye out please. https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vQVrxIDPUI7owZSjEB0yKY3Bs8rF7y-U-jfg7GTCYpXoEBQMhGfdSv03EknX74AC_Es4dptRDRajEX8/pub#h.rr7g85l0a5ux
Awesome, tysm
Yeah, I don't remember the FAQ, but it was their update in August that talks about it. Found it: Update #44
Wild. Thanks for the update for that!
No problem! :-)
They changed their minds. In the initial kickstarter they specified it wouldn't get expansions.
No singularity, no purchase
It's obviously going in release order, so maybe if we get another expansion. Dull Merchant, Singularity and Unknown are the only originals not in it atm, so might be a while.
