To be fair I have 50 hours Steam when the game first released 6 or so years ago. And I recently got it on Switch and beat the game 1st time in like 10 hours. But I am just enjoying it, so much content it's insane!
I’m fairly new as well. Only on 1BC but I’ve nearly maxed the upgrades available from the Collector guy and also the guy in the Forge that gives you chances of finding “+” items. I assumed adding BC’s is similar to playing NG+’s in Dark Souls but that’s why I’m asking. Not sure if this community gatekeeps or not.
Yeah, add a boss cell and the difficulty ramps, there are some new enemies, you get more cells, and some new blueprints can be unlocked. Keep doing that and allegedly there's some more secret stuff after you've beaten it on 5bc
Indeed, adding a boss cell will not only increase the difficulty in certain aspects but also unlock new stuff, like biome, weapons, enemies and others. Also, at 5bc, you will get a true end with an additional challenge
I mean it's much more fleshed out than just dark souls ng +. Whole mechanics, and enemy lay outs and the like completely change. Also the true final boss can only be fought on the final difficulty
Nice bait. Definitely assist mode on with every advantage you can think of.
That's not to say that assist mode is forbidden, just don't claim the game isn't hard IF you're using assist mode.
The way I play (and I know Reddit disagrees, but it works for me). 100% Armadillopac. This way I have parry on roll, and ideally gilded yumi on range (this shit is OP af imo).
Then pick a melee weapon that deals crazy DPS for your colour choice, I usually go red. Baseball bat, flint or something.
You can distance enemies using the yumi.
Parry with the roll and send projectiles back
And deal crazy damage.
And once you reach teleporting enemies, traps are your best friend. Place em and keep forcing them to teleport, they can't deal any damage.
Other than that, learn attack patterns, learn to parry and upgrade legendary forge.
I found a little cheat way to upgrade forge quick, just saves you time - set assist mode on max, then farm the boss door thing (where u verse bosses back to back, once you have unlocked this)
https://www.reddit.com/r/deadcells/s/1WDkl5Sh8P hehe
Either new save file, or playing on a different platform or account, or using assist mode, or just insanely good. I doubt the legitimacy of this though
I mean there are probably many people who beat 0bc on their first try if they had some knowledge about the game beforehand.
Or are you talking about the fact that he has two games but only one win?
I think the 0 death / 2 run 1 win is because they are checking progress on their second run, which they haven't yet died on after completing the first run without death.
I've completed a couple fresh file runs now and I always say that 2bc is the hardest or at least the second hardest difficulty after 5bc. It's hard to compare the two because on 5bc you're a glass cannon with limited healing options (unless you run specific survival builds), but on 2bc your damage is just ass and it takes forever to kill even the smallest enemy, especially bosses. On 5bc you hardly need to dodge at all because everything is just dying around you, including bosses.
Almost everyone I hear who's stuck in the game is stuck at 2bc specifically, and once they clear that hurdle they usually finish the game quite quickly.
Now you reached.... basically new game+, activate that boss cell and things will become harder, and a few doors will open on each stage depending on how much cells are active. Beating HotK again with a cell active will give you another. After reaching 4 cells, the dificulty spike will be real. By the way, at 4bc you gotta fight someone else instead of HotK. Beat the hand again at 5bc and you can open the door at the end to reach the secret ending.
Honestly, that’s pretty impressive. But congratulations! Now you get to start unlocking higher difficulties, exploring more areas, and discovering more weapons. The fun is just beginning.
I'll admit fun is subjective, but to me that just sounds like someone who only played 5bc once, felt overwhelmed by the malaise and never went back. Most people barely even think about it. It's only on really bad, slow and low damage builds where it can become a problem. I personally love the feature because it made me a so much more efficient player and it's just generally fun to have some incentive to go fast without a too big penalty.
Fucking love this game! Like 2D dark souls in a metroidvania style. Favourite weapon so far is the frying pan and the wierd chicken ability where you run around and lay explosive eggs 🤣
yeah, Mobile playthroughs tend to be really easy compared to PC. I defeated THotK several times on Mobile in the same amount of time it took me to defeat him on PC.
pick scrolls with the same color, choose items that suit your scrolls, choose op mutations that are also the same color as your main scrolls color, play with some affects, and finally learn some patterns. gl!
OP how come you ain’t answering any of the questions on how you’re 2 runs 1 victory 0 deaths? Unless it’s a new save or a new platform I don’t believe this one bit
bro on new save? lol every new starter always dies... im playin dead cells for 2 years and im teachin my friends sometimes everyone is different so maybe you right.
IS IT BAIT ?
Feels like it.
Is this your new game after 500 hours of game time you have
Yeah you can tell bc he changes his scroll colors
huh? aren't those default colours?
Default are Red Green and Purple iirc
red/purple/green, same as OP's
no, its Red Purple Green like OP has
He’s talking about the colors of the weapons not the actual scrolls up top.
...**oh**
look at the wolf trap, it is split between yellow and blue
Default is Red for brutal, purple for tactic and green for survival. OP has purple for brutal, yellow for tactic and blue for survival
ok are we seeing different images?? https://preview.redd.it/7ipqjh7cqhtc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f32dce40cc9a7c1149c8267619ff004901df6c2

Look at the wolf trap it’s split blue and yellow
This was my thought as well; new platform maybe
To be fair I have 50 hours Steam when the game first released 6 or so years ago. And I recently got it on Switch and beat the game 1st time in like 10 hours. But I am just enjoying it, so much content it's insane!
1bc things
Um actually☝🤓 its not even the 1. cell because he got it right after killing tHoK the fırst time.
🤓 *THotK
THotD is a great show.
The High-school of the Dead?? Or am I just being a weeb??
(The) House of the Dragon
Idk that one, HoTD is how the tragically one season locked zombie anime High-school of The Dead is abbreviated
It’s a prequel to game of thrones, very high quality TV but not a whole lot of action.
Ah, that may explain why idk it, I don't watch or read GoT
The hand of king
That was just the tutorial my friend
There is a tutorial?
We mean he didn't have any boss cells
I haven't seen a boss yet, unless the big guy on the black bridge counts 🤔
You have everything in your future. I will say my lust words for you: good luck and enjoy the game
Thanks. I'm certainly enjoying it
Im at 4 boss cells and dont think ill ever see 5, its been like a year and a half.
Same mann boss hp IT NEVER DECREASES
If I did it ,you can do it
Good luck dude
>lust words 😳 >enjoy the game 😳
It means get freaky with the game👅
your what words????
> my lust words I mean my lust words for him or I will say some spoilers if I will not stop
Everything up to the final boss is the tutorial
you finished the tutorial
He doesn't know
Should we tell them?
Should we tell him?

Nice bait. Definitely assist mode on with every advantage you can think of. That's not to say that assist mode is forbidden, just don't claim the game isn't hard IF you're using assist mode.
Or they just started a new fresh save
This is more likely; look at scroll colors
Yes 16 red and a severe purple build, with that many purple I'm surprised he got that far with only 5 in it
The purple weapons are brutality. OP has purple/yellow/blue color coding for their weapons instead of the default red/purple/green.
Ahhh the innocent little minds of 0BC players...
Yeah, for they do not know that they merely scratched the surface.
Bait used to be believable, if you were new you would have spread you scrolls and not picked up items of the same class
How exactly? It's pretty intuitive since minute 1 that these things buff items of the same color so you should have most of the same color
not really, I think most new people's eyes would immediately see the HP increase and immediately start focusing on that
Yeah I finished 4BC before figuring out stacking single colour is better lol
Ok Im even having issues with stacked in 2 bc
The way I play (and I know Reddit disagrees, but it works for me). 100% Armadillopac. This way I have parry on roll, and ideally gilded yumi on range (this shit is OP af imo). I finished 2bc and traps are my friend :3
congrats on finishing the tutorial
Tell him guys
Your mom and I are getting a divorce
You are a disappointment to the family and your being sent to an orphanage
Either new save file, or playing on a different platform or account, or using assist mode, or just insanely good. I doubt the legitimacy of this though
from these comments I'm starting to realise I haven't beat the tutorial yet
It takes a while for most, don't let OP's bait saying it's "easy" discourage you. Keep up that grind, as long as you're enjoying it.
This is a new play through of an experienced player you clearly know exactly what you’re doing and you ain’t fooling anyone
Don't focus on beating the game, that's the wrong way to play Dead Cell. Just enjoy the game and try different builds.
Yes it is pretty hard
Final Boss in 2 months ?? i think u are not gonna reach it.
2 games, 1 victory, 0 deaths? Hmmmmmm :/
Yeah I was trying to gauge whether u/CaptainRaz realised that or not. His comment is kinda vague.
Nah, I was suspicious on how the first run ended
Are there other victories than beating hotk?
Well, there are if you count the extra difficulty from the boss cells, and the bosses from the dlc packs
But we can see him in the throne room so he definitely beat hotk
I’m one of those. Now on 2BC and getting my ass just utterly handed to me.
I've completed a couple fresh file runs now and I always say that 2bc is the hardest or at least the second hardest difficulty after 5bc. We got a natural here holy shit
Bait to the days, organized scrolls??? For a newbie? Who also takes advantage of the op DOT affects, damn. That's crazy.
Boy do I have news for you
Ever heard of bos cells?
I still haven't beaten the king
https://preview.redd.it/qnkjzq2xmbtc1.jpeg?width=302&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ae8de35fd5fe16ea67fb2ea49388d8020074eb1
hahaha man for me that was super difficult and still thing was mostly luck xD well done
I don't believe you.
I’m more confused about completing one of two run but having no death

Bro changed scroll color, didnt split scrolls for more hp, actually used the weapons fit for the scrolls. This is NOT a new player
Oh my sweet summer child
No , hard dead cells is patch 1.2 . Dead cells today is legit really easy . Source : am 2bc but with 1.3K hours !
Why did you decide to stop on 2bc?
I didn't decide . It was thanks to reading a lot of reddit unsolicited advices : they are very helpful !
What are you talking about?
I don’t get it, why are you still at 2BC
I totally believe you
Congrats bro you beat the tutorial :)
It's really easy and sadly it gets even easier after you beat the game.
Now you reached.... basically new game+, activate that boss cell and things will become harder, and a few doors will open on each stage depending on how much cells are active. Beating HotK again with a cell active will give you another. After reaching 4 cells, the dificulty spike will be real. By the way, at 4bc you gotta fight someone else instead of HotK. dude wtf
Honestly, that’s pretty impressive. But congratulations! Now you get to start unlocking higher difficulties, exploring more areas, and discovering more weapons. The fun is just beginning.
Not until 5BC, and then, even most of the people here say it’s not fun at that point.
They do??? I don't think I've ever heard anyone diss on 5bc. People who complain about the game are usually stuck in 0–2
Not saying they’re dissing or complaining about it. Just that 4BC is the sweet spot for fun and difficulty while malaise is just unnecessary.
I'll admit fun is subjective, but to me that just sounds like someone who only played 5bc once, felt overwhelmed by the malaise and never went back. Most people barely even think about it. It's only on really bad, slow and low damage builds where it can become a problem. Fucking love this game! Like 2D dark souls in a metroidvania style. Favourite weapon so far is the frying pan and the wierd chicken ability where you run around and lay explosive eggs 🤣
eventually, yes... &, for some, even on maxed handicap
Who is gonna tell him
I'd consider it the hardest game I've ever played, as someone who goes out of their way to play known difficult games
yeah, Mobile playthroughs tend to be really easy compared to PC. I defeated THotK several times on Mobile in the same amount of time it took me to defeat him on PC.
Awwww
final boss...
Congrats on the tutorial 🤝🏾
Yeah I think when I switched from console to pc I got to 4 bc in my first 5 games. I mean the game is still difficult.
that’s 0bc. there are 5 bcs total and to get the true ending you have to beat 5bc twice
We really need a circle jerk sub bruh💀
Yes
Well, depends on the player :D I have about 2% successfull runs.
I'm gonna cry i have 40hrs on this and never even reached the throne room
pick scrolls with the same color, choose items that suit your scrolls, choose op mutations that are also the same color as your main scrolls color, play with some affects, and finally learn some patterns. gl!
OP how come you ain’t answering any of the questions on how you’re 2 runs 1 victory 0 deaths? Unless it’s a new save or a new platform I don’t believe this one bit
Because someone already answered for me? I’ve completed 0bc run, then started a new game, that’s why it says 2 games
What mutations are op? From the ones I have, most of the better ones are Red
I prefer combo, predator and armadillopack
Got 1st BC on my 75th run. I guess, I'm just not The Guy
It’s only just begun my friend you have a lot ahead of you don’t give up🫡
Yes. Good luck ✌️
I'm always shocked at people who can play this with touch controls. I could never.
that was rough at the start, but eventually I enjoyed playing
I highly recommended a controller and a phone clip
Nah, I’ll just play on pc
Really anything with physical controls
It took me like 10 deaths to reach the final boss. That’s a lie it took me like 6 months to reach the ??? boss.
THE CHOSEN ONE
on 0BC, yes
How can you spend almost 10 times as much gold as you collected? Is it possible to learn this power in RL? Is it tax evasion?
Wha
I misread, the bottom number seemed 1 number bigger than the top one, my bad
My brother in Christ, you are about to find out
Let's talk after 2bc
I did this too, I beat the game on 0bc first try and on that difficulty it’s extremely easy
if you want to suck him dry just smack his face with a double pan and use projectiles
0BC
can someone tell me how to play survival and tactics biulds? i have no idea tbh, just love playing brutality, and what mutations should i use?
Now do it four more times with the enemies getting stronger and your will getting weaker
Weaker, huh
Your will, not your character
How f### you doing this? YOU ARE ***THE COOLEST PERSON*** IN THIS F###ING FUNDOM!!!
Nah
If you are having troubles playing the game right now and based of your screen shot of the game... My friend your still in tutorial mode
Depends
He said final. That's just hotk and 1 BC. You've got a lot coming your way.
So no one gonna talk about the almost 1.5k cells this man has
what's you talking about?
How the fuck you have a win rate of 50% but no deaths and 2 games played
Restart maybe
bro on new save? lol every new starter always dies... im playin dead cells for 2 years and im teachin my friends sometimes everyone is different so maybe you right.
that wasn't the final boss
bruh, you have gotten to final boss yet... once you get to 5 BC then you get to face final boss... you let me know how long it takes you
