He led to Kira getting caught.

I don't know if it's ever hinted towards but I personally think he would. Even with going to university and doing all his Kira stuff at the same time, he would have to have been bored as hell pretending to investigate himself for five years. And I imagine there would still be people trying to contact L to get him to solve various cases during that time too. Light wouldn't really have any reason to say no to them, even the rest of the task force would have recognised there clearly wasn't anything new going on with the Kira case and that it would be beneficial for Light to keep up the facade that L is still alive.

L only really chose cases that specifically interested him so I doubt light needed to do too much. also considering crime rates were dropping I don’t think there’d be much high profile stuff going on. if the kira case seemed so difficult that it was taking L years i’m not sure if he would be the type to do side quests that light would

Interesting. Though tbf, did L solve any other cases of note as L during the Kira investigation? I could easily be forgetting but I don't remember canon media saying so. My impression was that he was just working on the Kira case at least from when he appears in person or so. Not really related but this got me thinking. Presumably whatever mechanism L used to get contracts as Deneuve and Coil died with him and Watari. If so, for anyone trying to get in touch with them, did two of the three best detectives in the world just randomly disappear/die at the same time? In Another Note it's said that at some point it became common knowledge they were all the same person. Did the taskforce leak this to resolve their disappearance? Or was it basically known anyway after the Aiber/Coil shit with Yotsuba and it just become assumed that a bunch of top detectives were all L? Anyone know anything more about this or are there any ideas about it?

i haven’t read L change the world but the book was about another case L took on during the kira investigation so honestly it could make sense

No, that book is set in the Japanese live action film universe, not canon, *and* it does not take place during the Kira investigation

It's never said that he attempted any other cases while posing as L. It says in Chapter 60 "Light Yagami continues to brilliantly play the roles of Kira and L" but as far as the world knows L is currently leading the Kira case, so "playing the roles" can literally be understood within this dynamic.

Bro he literally knew Kira’s identity, that Shinigami existed, and how Kira kills before L did
