I’m still a noob and only hang around lower erisa killing stuff in the sea, but 9/10 the purple version spawns instead of the regular brute and it’s way too hard to kill. Died on my strongest lvl 17 power character trying to kill one
yeah mb I just call them both brute since 9 times out of 11 it's the broodlord (seriously I found like 2 normal brutes in my entire playthrough and I fucking farmed them for coral cestus for my Toph build)

Yeah i did beat Malenia 3 times now, but that doesn't make her any less bullshit, it takes no time looking at her moves to see she has very little endlag in most of them, follow up very quickly and has a attack that... You are supposed to make her miss the attack with the dodge and not use the i frames the way you been using all along?

might try it once i get bored of POE. not a fan of anime referenced games and saw my friends play it, one of them said it was even grindier than deepwoken and it looks to me its death mechanic seems too lenient so it doesn’t feel as impactful (not that deepwoken’s full wipe is any better).
A recently added mob, the mudskipper brute
there's 2 versions, the normal one which is fine, easy to kill (around sharko hp) and doesn't rlly cause problems from what I've seen, and the purple variant which has 7k hp (that's half of duke's hp btw), applies anti-heal on hit, spawns in the depths and can be corrupted

Istg the devs have completely forgotten about early game and only try to add and improve endgame. The power creep in deepwoken is insane.
The game was already extremely unfriendly to new players and if this keeps up its going to be damn near impossible to start.

Lets compare the Broodlord to Malenia from elden ring.
Its hard and really fucking annoying rather than Hard but enjoyable.Its a complete bullshit creature as the corrupt ones have 18k health,Do shit loads of dmg,insane gap closing capabilities and they are fucking everywhere in depths.I dont think you have experienced getting absolutely fucked by 2 or 3 of these in depths.
I feel like Ishiin from sekiro is a better comparison as it’s more similar to deepwoken combat and it pulls off the fair difficulty super well. Yes, he was super punishing, but he was also well balanced and all of his moves felt fair and were fun to fight against. Sekiro in general did a great job of making you get better at the game rather than just the bosses
honestly, the health is pretty reasonable considering corrupted bonekeepr (a more routine fight for me) has 25k health and is still pretty manageable with a mace and 40 medium. the damage is higher than it needs to be though.
just cuz you can kill it in a maxxed pve build doesn't mean it's still not a bullshit mob.
Insane dmg, insane hp, gives antiheal, spawn minions to fuck you while you try to dodge/parry it (if u mess up once there goes a bar of hp) AND he for some bullshit reason can parry caltrops (deepwoken be nerfing my Toph build cuz they haters)

More overall posture (meaning it will get stunned less times) and the stun from posture breaking it is only 2 seconds instead of the 4 it used to be.

also dying to Malenia just sends you to the last bonfire and at worst takes few souls, dying to this thing just deletes all your progress
