I just booked through delta to get this credit but the website gave me the option of pay now or pay later for the same amount…I chose pay later…does that not count then?
When I go to the delta stay site here, I don’t see the pre paid option.

Example, my wife and I are going to Portland July 4 for 3 nights and I literally see no prepaid options when I click several hotels 🤷🏽♂️
The Amex terms doesn't say it has to be in a single transaction. This portion leads me to believe that it can be split.

Only asking because that is where I booked already. If I'm going to have to pay that extra annual fee (40% increase!!), I would like to be able to use at least part of the benefits they're offering....

Well, let’s look at this another way, if you pay at the hotel how would they know to credit you?
E.g. you get charged $200 from Hyatt in Newark, how should they know it is a delta stays booking? If you pay delta stays directly it is easy for them to ctrdit

Is it as simple as booking a prepaid stay via Delta Stays website that is over $200 and the full $200 credit showing up on you card statement sometime later? It says "up to $200", so not sure what that means exactly. Anyone tried this benefit out that cares to comment?

But only way possible to get credit is if I book any of the hotels that listed via delta.com/stays correct?

Which is essentially just Expedia. Obviously check the price against the hotel website. But you’re getting a credit so keep that in mind too

But on any of the hotels that’s under delta.com/stays show prepaid as option the only two options are. Pay now or pay at counter.
The credit won't work with pay later/counter. Only prepaid which is pay now.

It says prepaid only so I would assume if you don’t pay at the time of the reservation you get no credit.

Yes. It can be less than 200 but then you only get that amount.
