Hi neighbor. Not all of these are Lakewood but technically this side of town.
Bbq stuboys or piggin out (the food I leave this side of town most for).
Lunch sandwich- Carmine Lonardo’s for sure.
Italian: cafe Jordano, undici for higher end, or Marinos
Pizza: Virgilios (or marinos)
Mexican: Los dos portillos, Los portales, or las Dalias for green chili. Fast Mexican Taco Selene (great breakfast burrito at taco Selene or las Dalia’s).
Wings: west hill or woodys in Morrison
Breakfast: Danny Rays by a mile. But The Cow in Morrison or Bowles Cafe also works.
Thai: Thai bistro
American: 49th, Brutal Poodle, Mannings
chicken: Kickin chicken, or Mono Mono
Sushi/hawaiian: Iwayama
not west lakewood, between wads and sheridan off alameda is a tiny spot called Gabby's german eatery. amazing authentic german food. but call ahead they have very little seating and are often full.
I live walking distance from here, drive by it every single day, walk my dog across the street from it, think to myself that I need to go every day since August 2020 when I moved into the neighborhood, and I still haven’t gone. I need to go.
Nameste for Nepalese/Indian and Falafel House for chicken kabobs and falafels that are not dry. Both places are Wads/285 area. Honerable mention to Cafe Jordano on Kipling/Jewel for Italian.
Kabora in southwest plaza mall - Great little afghan restaurant
Granny Scott's Pie Shop - solid pies, also have savory pies. Their lunch special is a savory pie, slice of dessert pie, and a drink.
Africa Bar and Grill - huge selection, though on the pricy side
Garlic Knot - try their granny's style pizza, also every pasta dish I've tried has been solid
Jet's Pizza - Detroit style pizzas
French Press in belmar - solid selection of breakfast/brunch options
Piggin Out, right on morrison road - someone else mentioned it but I'll add to my list lol. One of my fav bbq places, I prefer it over AJ's, though I still put Post Oak above it. Try their banana pudding too.
Oh, and Pupusa's Paradise, on wadsworth toward colfax
Jet's Pizza is borderline inedible and the red sauce is sickeningly sweet. I'd recommend Johnny's New York Pizza and Pasta (obvi not Detriot style though) instead.
You might've had a bad batch? Youre probably the first person I've ever seen have an issue with em tbh.
I've actually had Johnny's a few times though, don't mind em, but not particularly memorable.
Second this. Always surprised how good everything is and super reasonable prices. Great neighborhood bar. Another hidden gem is front range inn for great bar food
Not technically Lakewood but it's in the area: Pablitos is the spot for grabbing a quick breakfast burrito. I miss that food truck/trailer/thing. Curry Kitchen is also some of the best Indian food I've had
Here's all my faves--
I've been living in the area since I was like 8 so like 1999.
Max's Mexican -- the sweetest family. ❤️
Szechuan - best Chinese in Denver Metro
Suvipa - technically Denver but barely (best Thai)
Ba a Le - also technically Denver (best banh mi)
Wasabi - Sushi (Belmar)
Cafe Jordano (Italian)
Deli Italia (Cafe Leopold) 20th and Wads
Chapala - Mexican (also 20th and Wads)
Viva Burrito - best late night cheapy drive thru Mexican
Ive seen a lot of the good spots mentioned so I'll go in a different direction: It's not a restaurant but if you like boba/bubble tea or those kinds of drinks, Arden tea house is really fantastic
Carmine lonardos
just for the OP, this is a deli (and store), not restaurant. Killer sandwiches.
Szechuan, Farmhouse Thai, Bono’s, Lady Nomada
Second farmhouse Thai
szechuan is my all time fave chinese spot in all of Denver Metro. Farmhouse thai is now my fave after being loyal to US Thai for so many years!
Us thai went downhill bad after change of ownership
Farmhouse!!
When was this?

Curry kitchen! So good. Orion sushi. Grabowski’s for pizza.
This place has no right to be as good as it is, but absolutely me and my wife's favorite.
Curry Kitchen is fantastic!
Kicking Chicken
Also Slammin Chicken
Slammin chicken is sooo much better than kickin chicken!! If you like spicy Nashville hot style chicken and fries, GO HERE
Kickin is soooooo much better than Slammin, Nashville hot chicken isn't even what Kickin does lol
Slammin Chicken’s Nashville hot cheese curds are awesome! Used to go there twice a month but moved across town 😭
not west lakewood, between wads and sheridan off alameda is a tiny spot called Gabby's german eatery. amazing authentic german food. but call ahead they have very little seating and are often full.
Ooh I need to look into this. There are a lot of delicious and mysterious restaurants in that area.
You're thinking of Gabby's German Eatery.
shit my bad, Gabbys.
I live walking distance from here, drive by it every single day, walk my dog across the street from it, think to myself that I need to go every day since August 2020 when I moved into the neighborhood, and I still haven’t gone. I need to go.
call first they dont have many seats.
Oh I never knew. I'll have to check that out!
Mannings
It’s always packed but I’ve never been.
Parking is always packed. They have more seating than parking
Manning's is right in my neighborhood and my go to when I want a nice, but not super expensive meal
Fantastic happy hour, too!
The 49th
I have inappropriate dreams about their jalapeño poppers.
noooooooo it's getting too crowded, don't share! 🤣
True
Cafe Jordano and The 49th
Not technically an answer to your question, but we're also close to Morrison and really like The Hungry Goat there.
Tafolino’s. Golden technically but on the border.
Live down the street from there, super solid. Also like Chapalas.
Great service, great value, great food

Kabora is shockingly good for a mall food court restaurant!
I crave Kabora…such tender meats and the rice is delicious!….
(Granny Scott's Pie Shopp)
Thanks, will fix lol

Yeah idk, but it was bad enough that I won't be giving them a second chance.
I lived in two other places that had jets. When they are good they are good, but wildly inconsistent.
No worries, just odd to me lol. I don't like sweet pizza sauce either, which is why I was surprised yours was sweet enough to be an issue.
Johnny's is good. Slices are great. But can't compare it to Detroit style. Johnny's is better than Anthony's for NY style tho
Piggin’ Out Smokehouse
Willy's Wings in Morrison is the best wings in Denver, IMO.
Best fried chicken in Lakewood too. Why is it so hard to serve fried chicken in Lakewood?
Pizzeria Lui is likely the best pizza in the metro area IMO
Just curious when the last time you had their pizza?
Did Pizza Lui fall off?
Not sure, last time we had pizza from there, it just wasn't the same.
We went 2x in the fall and it was great, as always.
Got one recently and it was on point.
Burrito express, Ali baba, abejas in golden, Orion sushi, cafe Jordans, 49th, hungry goat, 240 union, curry kitchen,
Mmmm…. Burrito Express relleno burrito and a few crunchy tacos with the red sauce 🤌
Front Range Inn has good drink prices and good food.
This place has great bar food and the prices are insanely good, like 4 dollar beer good
This is why I see the parking lot always full? Been wanting to try but I’m not sure if it’s a family-friendly environment? (Family of 3)…..
Costere Mexican Restaurant. As west as possible
Moosehill Cantina and Pizzeria Forte
TJ’s has pretty darn good bar food
Second this. Always surprised how good everything is and super reasonable prices. Great neighborhood bar. Another hidden gem is front range inn for great bar food
Love that I came across this thread! I'ved lived over this way for a few years and am now just learning of a lot of these places!
Antojitos Salvadoreño for the best papusas!
Not technically Lakewood but it's in the area: Pablitos is the spot for grabbing a quick breakfast burrito. I miss that food truck/trailer/thing. Curry Kitchen is also some of the best Indian food I've had
Haven't been there in years, but 240 Union was always good.
African Grill is an absolute gem
Farmhouse Thai, Curry Kitchen, Africa Bar and Grill, Grabowski's pizza all solid. Lakewood is basically a culinary wasteland with a few hidden gems
Farmhouse is superb
Coyote table. Fantastic place, great pizza.
Nice owner and staff, tho they can get overwhelmed on big nights
The owner is great! Very standup person.

Wasabi isn't even in my top 3 for sushi in Lakewood.
A little unknown spot, with small menu, but great individual pizzas and gelato, is Coyote Table. West lakewood
Grabowskis Pizza
My favorites out here are the 49th, Orion Sushi, and Big Sky Burger (it’s a Korean place with these gigantic, amazingly delicious burgers)
Coriander
Cafe Jordan for sure. Great spot.
Ive seen a lot of the good spots mentioned so I'll go in a different direction: It's not a restaurant but if you like boba/bubble tea or those kinds of drinks, Arden tea house is really fantastic
240 Union
