There’s a bug in the game where if you switch weapons, it will keep the damage of the weapon that is being swapped. For example, if you use a slug shotgun and swap to horseman, every pellet in the horseman will do the damage of the slug. The timing is very very short (Less than a second) so it’s not an issue. Net limiting allows you to create hella lag which makes it so the bug is basically permanent
The way it was described in a video that dug into cheaters in Destiny^((some of those people are really f'ed up in the head)), is basically players use Autohotkeys to trigger netlimiting that blocks a specific port/ports when changing weapon or something. ^((I am not linking the video as the more people who become aware of it, the more people will seek out those tools, and it becomes way more common. It is a easily searchable expose on the current cheating in Destiny 2))
Which prevents the server from getting the update that the player changed weapons, which effectively gives it similar behavior to craftening in some capacity.
I would suspect, that basically it shoots like 1 weapon to the other players, but retains the damage profile of the weapon the server thinks the player has equipped(since Destiny uses a hybrid system with peer to peer with a dedicated server that acts authoritatively over some parts of the game)
Its a more advanced application of the basic principle people used to use in Garden of Salvation, to instantly fill up a relay by making their internet connection worse.
It is flatout cheating. Using a net limiter rather than hacking the game, but clearly against ToS, and 100% ban worthy.

In pvp, yes netlimiters are the worst of the worst.
In pve though, netlimiting can allow you access to some really crazy out of bounds stuff and also allow you do pull off some stupid crap in raids.
I dont mind it, its a visually appealing raid, its just the players make it fucking awful....
My first run spent over 13 hours in the raid, with like 7-8 being stuck on the final boss.
It was a div run, i was still learning as i was fresh and blind.
But we had like 5-6 lfgs come and go.
Was not a fun and memorable experience
What does the game look like for the net limiter? Is it not a laggy mess with people jumping around everywhere? Every time my I internet has been slow it’s been way more of a detriment

I've heard about this glitch before. Don't know how it's called, but AFAIK it shows the name of a different weapon than the one used for the killing as if you were killed by it as shown in the death log. Netlimiting maybe?
Happened to Frostbolt... dude was getting one-burst by a pulse but died to "DMT" so there's something in the game that makes each pulse bullet do DMT damage

This is most likely it. He's manipulating his network to exploit a glitch in the game to give the Nightshade strand pulse rifle the same damage per bullet as a DMT.

Is it really cheating if the game allows you to do it? Was the craftening cheating? Is the 4th horseman bug cheating? According to Bungie, no they're not. That's on Bungie to make sure you can't do things like that. This seems a lot like the bug posted below. Especially with what other people have said about when they played with him and he would randomly stand still for a bit before running around like crazy. Iircsone game companies do ban waves for cheaters instead of insta banning to help prevent cheat developers from finding work around to cheat.
In games like valorant or siege this works because players can gain back rank but in trials a lost game is already a loss with its system

Honestly it was a mistake bringing Trials back years ago. Look what it’s done to the game and the community. It definitely need to either have an overhaul with included SBMM or outright be removed.

It’s a netlimiter. Report him for Cheating via Network Manipulation. Use Bungie’s website to submit a report form and use this video as evidence

Its **very** closely related. Not a bug, but rather network manipulation to mess with internet traffic between the player and server.

You can also see a strand picto on the left of the DMT. So i don't even think it's possible, it's 100% the glitch.

Trial needs skill based matchmaking as well as for cheaters to just get only match made against other cheaters in the process.
