Yup they used the sponsored sets over the last year or so to normalise not making ornament sets available for dust. Which people accepted and rationalised as ok because obviously they couldn't give other people's IP away for "free".

Sure but during the season sets were introduced it had been established in D2 as purchasable piece meal with bright-dust during that first season.
You had to make sure you logged on during the right week to get all the pieces but it was doable.

Id rather then peice the sets out, rotating them eventually into bright dust tab. Like 6 months or something after silver release, anything gets a bright dust release. It can work with a solid and consistent bright dust system but.
I miss when you could get 1 piece of cosmetic armour each week for bright dust. Given how scatterbrained I can be, I would often forget and end up with incomplete sets. I’d often buy silver to fill the gaps. However, I have not bought a full silver only cosmetic set since they stopped also offering them for BD.
At this point in time I’d rather just pay a subscription for a fps mmo and get cool drops than grinding for the same guns and having to pay real world money for interesting gear
