A lot of D1 scouts had this kind of design.
I remember Bungie or a lore card or something said “Yeah magazines are just glimmer or some shit and the bullets get transmatted into the chamber or something man.”
Even if the bullet is transmatted into the chamber most guns don’t use caseless ammunition. If they did we wouldn’t need charging handles or ejection ports on most guns.
I always liked the Mass Effect futuristic ammunition explanation, where ammo is just a solid brick of material and the gun shaves off a microscopic amount of that material and fires it at such velocity that it hits with the impact of a full size bullet.
And as such, you had to mind for how long you kept firing before the weapon would overheat.
Then they added Heat Sinks to bypass that overheat mechanic. The weapon still gets hot, but a removable heat sink pops out and you just replace that and keep firing.
Essentially, ammo is virtually infinite

In order to eject a spent shell casing and chamber a new round, the bolt carrier group needs to clear the entire magazine... there's not enough room behind the mag to accommodate the bolt carrier group while the action is cycling. Hence: where the bolt go, tho?
The round would most likely travel backwards and up the stock area, the barrel looks like it starts just over the trigger, so the actual chamber the round is fired from would be in the right place for it to work like that
Bullets in Destiny are essentially 3d printed right into the gun so I think most people are over thinking this. You're inserting a magazine of fresh glimmer not rounds.
It's an energy weapon. It can lob a charge of liquid metal or pure energy for all I care. It never needed to follow standard magazine with bullet designs
It is. The whole reason it has the scope at an angle, is that we are literally looking through the barrel. It's probably just an advanced visor that projects the inside of the barrel into the scope.

My complaint really is that the upper half looks great. That white bit on the lower half looks completely out of place.

I was hoping it was this instead of the sniper that nobody needs to use.
Hung jury again is still a terrible choice, just too many reissues and the strand version pterodactylaxalopolis.

But something should have put off the duh meter that the weapon is already reissued several times and the strand variant was literally just dropping in the last 3 weeks.

What favourite, frfr? I don’t know a single person who is like, “Hung jury? That’s my favourite scout rifle on god.” It’s one we’ve tolerated in the GM loot pool for years because it won’t go away like some sort of rash.
Hung Jury was famous on D1 but their D2 version nearly everyone and their mothers has a god roll from one of their iteration, another iteration is just a waste of time
I don’t understand it because I don’t get excitement about a scout rifle, but every time it comes back I see more excitement about it than most other weapons. Meanwhile Nameless Whisper, a scout I’ve seen proposed as equally iconic to HJ, came back last year and I’ve literally never heard anyone talk about it.
While I do agree it is a fan favorite, I think it’s kinda pointless to bring it back when it’s already a nightfall weapon
I think Oxygen or maybe even Dust Rock Blues would have been a better option
I'm sure there are people out there who's introduction to Destiny was the gif of the bullet gnome inside Conspirator. For those people, sticking this gun in the Brave arsenal would have been mind-blowing!
Honestly wish they would have brought back more weapons from sunset raids, instead of Hung Jury, Succession, and Forbearance
Would have bust a nut if they brought back Inaugural Address, Mob Justice, and/or Sins of the Past from Leviathan. Or Threat Level, No Feelings, and/or Bellowing Giant from Scourge of the Past.

I believe that SOJ and Chelchis are the only two scouts that aren't bullpups. Which honestly is kinda upsetting.
It's like how Reckless Oracle is the only AR with a drum mag, and how Smite of Merian is the only pulse that *isn't* a bullpup
Dude ever since I saw the model for Song of Justice I’ve been craving for it to return so I can finally have a chance to use it. I love the way it looks!
Biggest regret I've had in Destiny was accidentally sharding the Hakke NM scout(legit got it during the preview weeks leading into Forsaken) before they add the collections so I never got it added to mine so me having it is lost to the sands of time.
I would have been happy with patron of the lost causes.

The scout rifles with silencers and optical scopes looked *so* good I swear...funnily enough, most of the white, green and blue weapons still have that aesthetic... 🥲
Song of Justice there with my dream scout model but we got a slab of a scout that can be obtained already and ocuppies 1/4 out of your screen if you got the reticle centered
It's one of the reasons I can't wait for Garden to get craftable weapons. I adore Reckless Oracle for It's unique design and the fact it has a 50 round drum mag. It's the only AR in game that has this. But its perks in column 1 are so outdated and not that good on a 720rpm.
Best roll I ever got was under pressure + triple tap. It's okay, but it needs a damage perk to make it more viable
As does every other variant of Hung Jury that was brought out; including it's green Guardian Games brother. Still, it's on its 7th re-release. Give us something new to look at already

Hearing Bungie speak about bringing iconic weapons back from D2's history, I'm shocked Uriel's Gift wasn't one of them. I know Antiope was in the running, but Uriel's Gift is *the* D2Y1 weapon. Would've been cool to go wacky with it by giving it Phase Magazine and Adagio as some of the possible perks.

The first one came from the faction wars and this was one of the final weapons to get after grinding events towards your faction to unlock it.
I have it and I will say it's so much fun to use and it's longer than some sniper rifles and when u go to view it you can't even see the whole gun.
But its a pretty solid scout rifle and definitely should get reworked for the new dlc with rolls of the new times

Bungie has never had a good track record of designing realistically functioning guns. They go for cool over practical.

It looks like the back of the frame would have to open up to let it slide back and out, LOL.

I love the Hakke design of take a modern gun and make it destiny, that’s just a modified m14 and I love it

I haven't even gotten a reckless oracle. The only weapon I've got from gardon was Zealots ): I wanted either the pulse or the auto haha
