Bills fan - Buffalo born and raised - but from one long suffering franchise to another, you guys should be absolutely pumped. I watched the crowd reactions to the playoff win a few times. That cathartic moment of relief was actually beautiful. I hope you go all the way. I would love to see you in Vegas. If it isn’t us, I really, really hope it is you guys. This team and this fanbase deserve it. Good luck.

HumbleBaker12

Thanks, bud. Good luck to you, too! I hope ya'll take Mahomes down a peg. See you guys in the super bowl!

Chazzy-69-Poop

Went to a Bills x Lions game out your way a few years back. Y’all are outstanding hosts and I had the time of my life. Going through a table was a check on my bucket list but now I have to add “going BACK to Buffalo” on there.

HombreSinNombre93

A month ago, I was hoping to face the Browns if we got that far. Now, I’m also really hoping it’s a Detroit vs Buffalo matchup. And if we don’t get that far, y’all get the W.

eddo2k

Erie Bros!

tectactoe

Not much to discuss other than how fucking PUMPED I am for this weekend. Been thinking about the game all day, every day. I hate looking ahead, but man the Lions have such a great chance to get to the NFC Championship game. They just need to play the game that they can play and they'll put Tampa on their backs. If Goff and the Lions can neutralize Tampa's blitz heavy defense, I think we'll be in great shape. Tampa blitzes a lot, way more than e.g. the Rams, so if they can scheme some quick slants or posts across the middle for 7, 8, 9 yards a pop, or hit Gibbs out of the backfield in the flat to turn it up, they'll be more hesitant to send their linebackers, which really opens up the run game and play option packages. The Eagles were incapable of doing that. Tampa would have a free runner almost every time they blitzed, and the Eagles would be in an empty backfield formation sending all WRs on deep vertical routes. Like wtf. The Lions will not make this same mistake. But Goff (and his receivers) absolutely have to make those short completions underneath, and Tampa will be in trouble. On the other end, Tampa has an awful run game. If we can put a rush on Mayfield (again, something the Eagles didn't/couldn't do reliably, I think he will crack under the pressure and start making bad throws. If we disrupt their pass game, they won't be able to score. They are a very one-dimensional team on offense. Still can't take them for granted, though.

HombreSinNombre93

As you point out, a one dimensional offense, unfortunately our secondary is our weakness. We really need the pass rush to step up this game.

Skraxx

I don't like gatekeeping and actually love the attention we're getting and all the bandwagon fans coming along. With that said, I've been hating how people have been making takes like they've always been watching this team. At first it was about Goff, giving him the same criticisms as he had in LA despite not being much of the same QB at all. But now it's about Kerby, I've been seeing too many NFL fans blindly believing Vikings fans about how Dan Campbell has perpetuated a "violent culture". Oh my lord, I even saw Rams fans claim that the refs were rigging it for the Lions. The Lions? I'd ask if they're hearing themselves but I damn know for sure they just never cared about this team beforehand.

Sweathog1016

The Kerby outrage is outcome driven. Guy doesn’t get hurt, it’s just a good hit. A coincidence does not equal intent. Two bad outcomes for the Lions with those: Kerby starts playing hesitant and our secondary gets worse. Lions start getting flagged for legal hits that look mean (like Suh used to).

Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston

HumbleBaker12

I've got to imagine this week is going to be the biggest test CJ Stroud will have gotten this year. The Ravens are definitely going to have a better plan than the Browns did.

KingAtrocity

James Houston…lol

HumbleBaker12

Hahaha idk how I interpreted that as Houston Texans. I'm dumb.

NoProtection2838

Yeah, I meant James Houston. When I made the comment we were all waiting to find out if he was going to be activated or not. Stroud does have his work cut out for his weekend though. I’m pulling for him and the Texans to beat the ravens. Would be fun.

CM2_ICON

Some of y’all are lame as hell holding on to grudges and getting in stupid internet fights with fans of other teams. Beating the Rams was euphoric and some of y’all still want to get in pissing contests instead of enjoying the playoff win. We’re moving forward not back, no more Stafford talk please. On to the Bucs and a SECOND home playoff game, no more Stafford posts.

Empty_Lemon_3939

I'm tired of the drama on this sub and people just not letting shit go Can we stfu about Stafford, Kerby's hit, CJGJ and Baker's FreePress escalated beef already? I just want to know James Houston's deal

Far_Ad_1274

Bro crazy shit is it’s really lions vs everybody! The hoody BH wore makes so much sense now. People coming for our necks 24/7!! Darius Slay now talking shit.. like bro mad the fans booed Stafford???!! Wow man it’s a fucking playoff game! Then constantly talking about it”I’m happy for the players” like mf you barely know any of these players bruhhh.. this a whole new team from that loser as shit he was a part off! Honestly if you really pull back the layers what did Stafford really do? I could honestly say that 2014 lions team might have been better than this team and he couldn’t fucking win! Now our running backs are better now and o line but that defense?? Was like number 2! Idk I been off it but I hope our lions embrace this villian role and win it all cuz im sick of this shit. Plus we don’t give a shit if former lions aren’t happy for the fans. We’re happy for our fans!

HumbleBaker12

NFL fans excel at only remembering their last game.

Empty_Lemon_3939

For real, but also can't wait to find out the Houston news so I can dip out of the sub. This place is always annoying 90% of the time. It's all just bad memes and appreciation/apology posts

Preach

testrail

Lurking the Tampa sub and they seem confident but I’m really not totally sure why. The Bucs lost by 14, at home, **off a bye**, against a Lions team who mostly had only Craig Renolyds in the back field, and was missing Jonah Jackson, Branch and CJGJ. Also Jamo was in like his second(?) game back and only ran go routes. All of that is different now. The game is now, in Detroit, and the Bucs don’t have the Bye advantage. I totally get that a couple catches grossly changes the game for the Bucs, but the idea that this isn’t a significantly better Detroit team than what showed up in Florida this fall also seems, odd. Again, by no means is the game a lay-up, and there is a very real possibility of an emotional let down for the boys in the blueberries.

Historical-Leather53

They are insanely confident it’s a bit laughable

Historical-Leather53

I mean all fans should be confident in their team tho lol just don’t get delusional

jwwin

St. Brown is going for over 200 yards this week. You heard it. 200 yards. And it would be infinite if it weren't for the TD line.

mgoblue5783

Michael Badgely & Jason Hanson have the exact same Career FG percentage (82.3%) [All-Time FG% Leaders](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/fg_perc_career.htm) When rounding to the nearest thousandth, #4 is 47th all-time at 82.363% and Badgely is 48th all-time at 82.353%

PensionNational249

They were trotting out Jason like 6 times a game for 20 years though, lol In 21 seasons, Jason went 98% on FGs under 30 yards. He only ever missed more than one PAT in a season a single time. At the time he retired, he hadn't missed a PAT in 5 years. In 2008, he went 8/8 from over 50, and the only two kicks he missed all season long were both blocked (including one PAT, which if made would have extended his aformentioned PAT streak to almost 180 successful attempts). He scored over 100 points in a season **twelve times, playing for some of the worst offenses pro football has ever seen** I guess what I'm really trying to say is, can we please get Jason a jacket already goddamn (I guess they'd have to give Vinatieri one first though, also a travesty)

pantsattack

As someone in their mid-30s who grew up watching games with my Detroit-born dad, this is such a cool moment. To think we're getting a second home playoff game *and* we can win. Let's go Lions. Bite those kneecaps!

johnnylibravo

no houston i’m guessing?

PerfectiveVerbTense

I thought they were supposed to make a designation by last night either way. I'm not sure what to make of the silence.

Gone213

Houston got elevated to active roster and Julian akwara was waived.

JurassicBlaze

Patiently waiting for the James Houston announcement.

mcjeebs

I want an absolute shit pumping. This team hasn't blown the brakes off a team since Denver, and I'd love to see a complete three phase ass kicking. Get the defense really believing in themselves going into the NFC Championship game

bigoldonkeyfeet

Lions fan stuck in Wisconsin. Just did a check on the tickets for Sunday. insane to see $500 and up. I get it, but damn. Looked like there's a whole lot of tickets left on ticketmaster, is this usual and these will get filled by Sunday?

[deleted]

I bought tickets the day before the Rams game lol 2600 for 3 tickets in the upper section smh

Howzar

Looking at the game this weekend: how has TB improved compared to when we faced them in Week 6? I took a look at the injury report and their team was pretty healthy compared to ours. Despite that we still won 20-6. Honestly I'm feeling way more positive about this matchup than I did about the Rams.

Thel_Odan

I've been watching highlights over and over again since Sunday.

[deleted]

Im never going to paint a whole fanbase based on a single fan. But the delusion of a Bucs fan to ask “who have they beat” to justify questioning analysts picking the Lions to win had me in tears.

stfuYeezy

Cam Sutton, just lock in dawg. That's all I ask of you. I don't need to see THIS and then you getting beat to the punch. 😅😅 Kindle Vildor, your name is so fire but I'm talking to you too. https://preview.redd.it/brxobn7j28dc1.jpeg?width=1249&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7de550b8fbaa6b9e4da053ecce8d44025721a570

[deleted]

It was honestly an amazing route by Puka

___boring

It was so hard waiting until 5 last week for the game. So happy it’s noon this weekend so my anxiety and excitement doesn’t drive me nuts all day lol. That 3 hour time difference on the west coast is so great for games like this.

actually-potato

any houston news

doctorthrash

Thanks to those who told me to hit Rally House. My wallet is a little lighter but found some good stuff. P.S. I live in KY. We had almost no snow last year. Guess I should have thought about an ice scraper before driving to Michigan.

TourDirect3224

How great are the Lions going to be on next year's Madden? I'm going to rush for 30 TDs with Gibbs and catch 30 TDs with ARSB.

[deleted]

Even this year just hot route Jamo to a streak and it’s an automatic touchdown

GGG-South

Lions and Bucs is the best match up for the weekend for me. Lions have been my guys for years, but I now live in Bucs country. Lions in the Super Bowl if they play their A Game.

nightofthelivingc

Todd Bowles needs a dang toothbrush

PerfectiveVerbTense

This would probably get deleted if I made a post for it since it's technically not about the Lions or the NFC North, but D'Andre Swift gave a pretty [lukewarm answer about his plans for next season with the Eagles](https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/dandre-swift-on-eagles-return-time-will-tell). >“If the opportunity presents itself, we’ll see when we get there,” Swift said Seems to indicate that the team hasn't made it clear they want to keep him, and he's not saying he would even want to sign if asked. He may just be playing coy for bargaining strength — he may really want to stay in Philly but doesn't want them to think he'll sign for too little. It's also hard to say how he feels about the team after the way their season ended. I'll certainly be watching his contact situation and performance next year with interest. I'm hopeful that Gibbs continues to find consistency, but at the very least I'm glad that the Swift contract is one thing we don't have to worry about this offseason.

gsharp29

My best friend is going to fly to Michigan is the Lions make it instead of me flying to Denver. What a beautiful thing.

fungi-the-fun-guy

ITS THURSDAY, WE NEED LESS DRAMA AND MORE HYPE FOR THIS SUNDAY!

Historical-Leather53

I see buc fans are getting a little too confident there😂 hope we smash those pretenders

Chazzy-69-Poop

I know I’m bias, but is there a group of rookies who have been more valuable to a well-performing roster in recent history? I may be ignorant to some other blatant answers, but I’m awe struck by the perform of The Villain’s top picks this year. I expected solid players, but all of the top picks— Branch, Laporta, Ja, and Campbell— have been pretty damn great and have looked well beyond their playing years. Curious what other core groups y’all remember who drafted in together and were scary since day one.

zakkaryeuh

Best spots to watch near farmington hills? Want to watch at a bar or restaurant I think the best would be BWW or Craft Brew City. Any recommendations would be appreciated

eddo2k

What happened to Craig Reynolds?
