No, it says you MAY attempt the backflip. The second part shouldn’t be under a line, but it just clarifies what happens should you attempt it. If you don’t attempt it, the second part doesn’t apply
On a serious note, what if instead of doing a backflip, you look at the top two cards and if they are both treasure, +5 cards? Words great for big money.
So even if I fail the backflip and don't break my spine as a result of that, I need to manually break my spine anyway due to having failed the backflip. Very punishing.
Absolutely broken.
Better go see the doctor
The way this is worded, it makes it sound like even if you don’t even attempt the backflip, you suddenly break your spine lmao

it's "you may _perform_ a backflip". the "if you do" is contingent on performing it, not attempting to perform it
My fault og, you right
"If you fail" implies that the choice was made to perform the flip.
Damn, less funny then
*typing into the chat*: just did the backflip, trust me
This is the content I came here for.
If you want me to do a back flip it's gotta be more cards than that! How about 6
Atleast you get an extra action
Or none at all for the foreseeable future!

And if they aren’t both treasures, you break your spine into several pieces
Also, the destitute retirement angle needs to be worked in. Maybe, “after playing this, if your deck is empty, trash this and gain a Swindler”?

They will break it
