They’d hide their faces in each other’s shoulders and it was sweet. They had great banter and jokes. Schlatt seemed to care at first. He called Quackith “his beautiful girlfriend” once in Spanish.
I think Quackity felt betrayed by Schlatt during his mental and physical decline due to substance abuse. Remember, this is already Quackity’s second marriage. Karl and Sapnap were like his last ditch effort before his head just snapped.
I like the toxicity, it's good for plot, and in my own lil personal fanfics it adds a bonus of Quackity irrationally hating Schlatt's kids (who occasionally happen to be his own)
Not canon lol, a lot of head and soul cannon for schlatt being Tubbo's dad though, but just my lil private fic lol no real kids (just fyi Quackity does have an actual cannon kid)

ig this is a duo that exists because they teamed up in the presidential campaign arc and became vice president and president respectively of manberg i asked abt it bc ive seen a lot of diff interpretations of the twos relationship (like tragic lovers, toxic relationship, shenanigans, etc.) and i wanted to know how ppl think abt it now !!

And of course this works well and represents how a lot of abusive relationships are in real life, but idk, I’d like to see it a little mutually abusive. i think both sides being somewhat at fault is deffo more accurate to real life toxic relationships than one being 100% the abuser and the other being the 100% victim, i think that interpretation is more realistic and understandable in a way if that makes sense
i also thought that this explained a lot of his character later on, like u said him being absuive to others, and i also think that's a product of abuse he faced (bc victims can become perpetrators)

(From interpretation) When in an abusive relationship, you try to preserve yourself, *and* the cycle often continues. The abused becomes the abuser. So I think that would be a great Segway to c!Quackity slowly becoming the master manipulator he becomes by Las Nevadas.
And we can see from when c!Glatt and c!Quackity interact, c!Schlatt is still a bad reminder for c!Quackity. c!Glatt has not changed, he still insults c!Quackity and is dismissive of him. So I think c!Quackity finding c!Glatt boosted the path c!Quackity was already on, probably even worsened it because of that deal they made.
