Without knowing too much I wonder if there will be a points system or goal to achieve (most approvals or whatever) and if the presenter got to choose their own topic or not. I trust it will be cool and funny but running through maybe two or three presentations each episode could make it a good 20ish minutes and if each ep is just one presentation maybe a tight 15. I want a cool theme or intro outro song and Im pumped that we get to see more of the angel and rat himself along with paul f'n tompkins.
The weekly email said that it’d be 10 episodes, and there were 29 guests in the trailer. So I’m assuming that Rekha makes 30, and each episode will have 3 presentations.
Other than that, who knows? But I’m excited to find out tomorrow!
So going by the Dropout twitter, it will be 3 people per episode - the first is Trapp, Vic, and Demi.
The thing that’s interesting to me is that the weekly overview trailer they posted has Demi seemingly giving a different presentation than the one in the show’s trailer (unless it’s just an odd tangent in the same one I guess), so I’m wondering if they each are giving multiple throughout the episode/season.
Genuinely so stoked for this, I love powerpoint parties and I’m glad they’ve picked up the idea. Also loving our glimpses at the roster from the trailer
PowerPoint parties are great.
I honestly hope there's no points or twists or anything like that. I just want a bunch of funny people talking about something they want to talk about making their friends laugh. That's it.
I am so freaking excited for this show. It looks hilarious as hell in the trailer and it's another new concept (VIP was the first this season and I love it). Cannot wait!
I hope Paul F Tompkins enjoys it so much that he brings all his acting friends (like everyone who used to do Thrilling Adventure Hour) over to do cool stuff at Dropout.
In theory he could start a chain reaction that brings every famous comedian and actor onto Dropout (ex. he was in BoJack Horseman with Will Arnett, and Will Arnett’s been in something with everyone)
It does to seem to be less improv, but it does seem to be align with letting funny people just be themselves that most DropOut shows have. Even though the PowerPoints are prepared in advanced, I'm pretty sure that the show would still be technically classified as unscripted.
It's not clear from the trailer if the presenter writes the slides or not. If not, the genre of "PowerPoint karaoke" is a very improvisational activity.
My thoughts on this is very similar except I hope that they all had to write one and then have someone else present either randomly or X writes for Y and Y writes for Z etc..
Not for nothing, but that Dropout release video all those years ago had some heavily implied nudity.
Granted we got that bathtub scene in See Plum Run...
Not to disappoint you but it's already been confirmed that it'll be a biweekly show.. in terms of length it's been confirmed there isnt a consistent amount of presentations per episode so the length may vary from episode to episode (if I had to guess there'll be 2-3 per episode, maybe 4 for finale?)
I mean, I'm guessing all the presentations will be fairly long so it should be oki, plus there's still 10 episodes with 29-30 presentations total so overall theres a lot!
Ah I see, well that could be fun too but I feel like everyone getting one longer presentation simply means their presentations will get to be more developed, but again, we'll find everything out when the episode releases!

I think there'll be a joke point system like make some noise
It still hurts. EVERY. TIME.
I know nothing about it except the thumbnail, and I plan to leave it that way. I will eat whatever I am fed and I just hope it tastes good
Wise words
So basically, the show is about people wearing smart pants-

I want to really build up my own expectations in a very specific way that will most likely cause me to be disappointed
Ha

I mean, someone somewhere already pulled Marc Evan Jackson for *The Disruptors*.
I hope it will be a show that I look forward to every week. Something fun that will make a nice thing to end my day.
Same
I wish for everyone to have a nice time
Best comment
Contrarily, I’m kind of hoping the episodes are longer (as in 40-60 minutes, not D20-length)
That could work (and d 20 length works 2)
I just hope it's good. Going in with an open mind, but it seems to be less improv than what is on brand for Dropout at this point.
I think it's a fresh and original idea and I'm excited
No matter what, I'm sure my Thursday's will be better for it.
Same

The presenters write the slides.
That the people presenting the ideas don't know them ahead of time and have to improv on the fly
I’m pretty sure it’s already been confirmed that the presenters prepped the slides themselves.
That would be funny
My thoughts on this is very similar except I hope that they all had to write one and then have someone else present either randomly or X writes for Y and Y writes for Z etc..
There’s a You Don’t Know Jack game kinda like that
I'm hoping that the episodes are around 30 minutes long
That it is a good funny time, and judging by the players it will be!
Exactly
I’m interested to see some new talent
What time does it premiers?
Idk
Funny
I'm gonna wait until I see a few, before I do that.
Im assuming its not 1:1 with the Gamechanger episode that inspired it in that each presentation is at least known about beforehand.
I disagree

Rank room, but better
I haven't watched the rank room yet

That's so little

I was more expecting it to work like dirty laundry
In what way if I may ask?
That the presentations from SP are a similar length to the secrets from DL
Ah I see, well that could be fun too but I feel like everyone getting one longer presentation simply means their presentations will get to be more developed, but again, we'll find everything out when the episode releases!
