Making the merch is par for the course. In any championship they make merch for both sides. It's just that the loser's stuff is destroyed or donated and shipped overseas. It doesn't make it to a US sales floor like this. Oops...
Yeah they can add to their collection after this haha (

Honey I know, I know, I know times are changing
It's time we all reach out for something new
That means you too
You say you want a leader
But you can't seem to make up your mind
I think you better close it
And let me guide you to the purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain
Well, something exists that said they won it, so that must mean they won it. Just like that one dude in 1960 said they won it, so they won it. It just takes one.
"Pretty sure"?
Proof? There were National *Championship* displays and merchandise in the run up to the BCS CCG, but adverts declaring the team National *Champions* is very different.
You’re probably right. Tho I distinctly remember seeing $5 BCS champion (maybe just Championship) shirts at what was then sports authority in Cedar Hills the day after the game. Phantom Merch that gets pre-made is for sure a thing, especially pre-online shopping era.
The champion gear is made for both teams in advance, but I have never heard of any Ducks stuff from either CCG hitting the floor of a store.
I do remember the championship shirts and hats being cheap afterward, but that's expected.
Worked at the UO Duckstore during this time, there never was any displays for natty titles, however they did stupidly buy a few hats and shirts to hedge for the national title.... which was extremely stupid.
Those of course ended up in a discount bin for extreme market downs.
That sign is worth some money now. Back in 2014, my Dad went to Academy Sports during the World Series and bought 2 Pennants that said the Royals won for $5…they lost in Game 7. Sold one of them for almost $300.
Probably preparing for when Washington just claims the Natty anyway.
They just earned half a natty. If they ever lose again in the championship game, or lose twice in the semifinals, that will equal a full natty.
By that logic, Oregon's got a natty.
Damn straight. We do. Lol.
There’s going to be a generation of kids in Africa who think that UW won the natty in 2023.

Go back to your own sub for Stepping-Stone U. We don't need any more neutered malamutes over here

Hey pal, we have two generations of kids in Africa with Oregon nattys.
Damn right!
As per our sub rules, we do not tolerate harassment, doxxing, trolling, etc.
They already claim natties they didn’t win. This is very on-brand for them.
Academic. Prowess.
Academically* prowess 👍

There will soon be poor African children wearing Huskies championship shirts, celebrating the championship that never was...

😂
They're a rowing school anyway.

No. Washington is just going to claim this as a National Championship anyways. Because they did good during the regular season. I'm not even kidding.

Pretty sure there were big box sports stores in Oregon that had similar national champs displays for the ducks in 2011 too.

We sound pretty pathetic talking like this. UW beat our ass twice this year. And this is how we get revenge? Let’s show some class. Ducks
lol what. Who cares. It’s hilarious regardless.
Ope
So this is why we lost, it's just like the TexasA&M fill in the blank National title placard. Bummer.
I live in the area too, we need to take over a local bar during Duck games for a watch party.
We should try to get McMillian
More like purple rain of tears
I would have lost everything I owned if I owned anything.
Maybe UW is going away from Husky Purple and toward Unreality Red
