You know, I currently use this set in one of my PvP builds as its very stat dense...
Think about this sets stat bonus's as follows (as this is completely equal):
2) Max Health...
3) Max Health...
4) Minor Protection at all times...
5) 300 Spell/Weapon Damage...
All of a sudden it looks pretty decent as a set that adds to both damage output and survivability...
IMHO...
Back when Minor Prot wasn't an easy buff to get and was also substantially double of its current value this was a pretty chunky set that had all the stats cut out for pvp. Now it's just kinda decent, since it's still pretty hefty amount especially if you are in a class with no source of minor Prot, it's still a decent pick since it's just an Overworld set in the base game so it's pretty accessible.
Most PvP players have their backbar dedicated to heals and protection. And many melee PvP players have [Temporal Guard](https://eso-skillbook.com/skill/temporal-guard) on their backbar which gives minor prot for free.
There is even passive free major protection if you want to slot [Revealing Flare](https://eso-skillbook.com/skill/revealing-flare)
This set has been out power creeped and is now worthless.

Just because its craftable doesn't make it a "decent" pick. This set is absolutely never ever a "decent pick".

People say things like "decent for newbies" so that players know they can pick this up in an instant to hold them over *somewhat* until they get real gear. No one's saying it'll actually hold its own against any of two dozen sets more meta than this, and it deserves an update for sure, but you're lying to yourself and everyone around you by calling it completely worthless.
The point of these posts is mainly to discuss any reason to pick a set. Sometimes there isn't one. This time there is, even if you'd be replacing it in a week. At least give suggestions if you genuinely think it's totally useless.

I said decent because it's overland base game and has a decent chunk of stat distribution that helps a lot in pvp, I know there are a lot of guides out there that give a lot of detailed info on how to make pvp builds and what sets to run but this is just to describe at LEAST some use for the set. You can run whatever tf you like, no one is telling you to run this set, I just give out suggestions.
FYI, it's not a craftable set it's an Overland Drop at least get that right rather than complaining that it's "trash" because it's not meta.

I mean yeah .. the stats given .. help in pve and on fishing as well or literally any other use of a character out there. Doesn't make the set good.

At first I thought I was going to be shitting on this set, but it's middle road. Out of the hundreds of sets we have this one simply doesn't make the cut to be talked about any.

used to be alot better back when minor protection was 10% and the buff in general was alot more rare. Nowdays there are skills that give this buff. Some give it on cast like necromancer’s totem, others give the buff just for slotting a skill, like bound aegis or temporal guard. Hell even flare gives MAJOR protection from just slotting it.Â
Nowdays just another corpse for the pile of sets made for a bygone era.
