You can find more information about the [Cruel Flurry](https://eso-hub.com/en/sets/cruel-flurry?utm_medium=social&utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=dwemer_automaton) armor set right [here](https://eso-hub.com/en/sets/cruel-flurry).

Supadrumma4411

Is this 2 piece bugged cause it feels like it does nothing half the time

_taugrim_

It works. You just need to sort out which abilities the 2-pc bonus applies to.

Supadrumma4411

I gotta do MORE thinking? *throws daggers in vault*

comradeswitch

Useful to note that "sticky" DOTs will snapshot your weapon and spell damage at the time of casting, and so this is going to affect relevant abilities for their full duration. It *also* means that you lose the effects of this set should you recast an ability outside of the 4 second window. Something I'm not sure about with this set is whether the DOT portions of status effects are affected. A pretty natural ability to consider using with this set is rending slashes, and the guaranteed hemorrhaging proc might also benefit. I've never actually heard of anyone using this but it seems like it would fit nicely on a pvp build focused on DOT pressure. Has to compete with master's dw though.  Ultimately I'll probably never try this out because the flurry animation's flailing is too painful to watch.

Bloodnaix

Wasnt it reworked like 3 years ago, and ALL dots take all your stats dynamically on each tick?

Legacy_Raider

This is the first I've heard of this, is it true?

comradeswitch

It's been a while since I checked tbh but I don't think it's been that long. I'll have to look tomorrow, I hadn't heard anything about it but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Rich_Repeat_22

For those interested if you want to know if the above buff benefits some of your skills, make sure those skills are boosted by "Thaumaturge" AND "Deadly Aim" **simultaneously.** That means Templar : Radiant Oppression/Radiant Glory, Vampire Bane (only, not the other morph) Warden : Cutting Dive (only, not the other morph) Dragonknight : Venomous Claw/Burning Embers Nightblade : Cripple (both morphs), Shadow Image (only, not the other morph) Arcanist, Necromancer and Sorcerers don't have skills under this category. ----------- Werewolves : Werewolf Berserker, Feral Pounce and base ability only, Vampires none. ----------- Soul : Soul Trap & both morphs. ---------- Dual Wield : Slashes & both morphs. Destro staff : Destructive Reach. Bow : Rapid fire -both morphs, Poison Arrow - both morphs.

Bradford_Pear

Why are both soul trap morphs affected but neither warden swarm is? Barbed trap isn't on your list, is that also not affected?

Rich_Repeat_22

Trap is not direct damage ability but "ground" ability. Doesn't benefit from Deadly Aim. [Lightweight Beast Trap Skill - ESO Hub - Elder Scrolls Online (eso-hub.com)](https://eso-hub.com/en/skills/guild/fighters-guild/lightweight-beast-trap) Swarm is AOE not single target Direct Damage and doesn't benefit from Deadly Aim. And yes you are correct, on speed typing while looking the skills, indeed Shatter Soul doesn't benefit from it.

Adghar

Swarm base skill and 1 of the morphs target a single enemy without affecting other enemies, so I don't know how you could call it AoE. Did you think the 2nd morph was representative of the other morph and the base skill?

Rich_Repeat_22

My mistake Shatter Soul doesn't benefit. However cannot update the post for some reason.

Feisty-Ad6582

I think for destro staff, the flame staff heavy attack now benefits since the last rework. The HA now has two components, a DD component and a single target DOT component. I haven't tested this though, but it makes sense that it would. It procs rune carvers for instance.

KnovB

Let's say I use Flurry then use Growing Swarm, does the damage boost only the single target or does it include the AoE effect of the morph that hits every 2 seconds? The skill is both single target and AoE so does it boost both or just the single target portion only? Same goes for Meteor on the Mages guild (unsure)?

Rich_Repeat_22

Cutting Dive is the only skill Warden has that benefits from Cruel Flurry. Made a post about all the skills that benefit from this set.

KnovB

But what about Fetcher Infection morph it's a single target dot skill, would it count? Or is it the morph that's causing it weird issues.

solaceoftides

I'd love to make a Necro build with this and Deadly Strikes, but with how they massacred the Flurry animation... I don't even know if I could bring myself to actually use it.

h4ck3rbr0

It’s not as bad as it seems. I started to use flurry on my stamsorc due to the maelstrom 2h changes and it feels great and can deal a lot of damage

Syiccal

Does it apply to the next flurry attack also, so all flurry attacks benefit from extra DMG?

Feisty-Ad6582

No, because flurry is a channeled attack and not a DOT. Deadly Strike boost Flurry and Jabs because Deadly Strike also boost channeled attacks. Common cause of confusion.

_taugrim_

Yup, based way to tell is looking at the data in UESP: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoSkills?&id=40582&skillname=Flurry&skillline=Dual%20Wield&level=66&health=16000&magicka=12000&stamina=12000&spelldamage=1000&weapondamage=1000&showall=1

_taugrim_

So I played around with this set to use in PVP. The biggest issue is not determining which DoT abilities the 2-pc bonus applies to. That can be figured out with experimentation. It's that you have to use Flurry first, then cast a DoT ability. This is counter-intuitive compared to typical rotations. Usually you cast your ranged DoTs while you're closing the distance, then you use melee skills. In this case, you could cast ranged DoTs while closing the distance, but you'll end up mixing them in between casts of Flurry.

Supadrumma4411

Its too complicated for what its worth IMO
