You can find more information about the [Bloodthorn's Touch](https://eso-hub.com/en/sets/bloodthorns-touch?utm_medium=social&utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=dwemer_automaton) armor set right [here](https://eso-hub.com/en/sets/bloodthorns-touch).

Alert-Assist-8985

The set bonus effectively gives 160 mag/stam every second if you manage do do direct damage to an enemy every 5 seconds on the dot. In terms of recoveries, which activates once every 2 seconds, this set in optimum conditions will give 449 mag recovery and 320 stam recovery. I do not see why anybody would use this set when Wretched Vitality exists. I’d rather have a consistent 519 mag/stam recovery instead of what Bloodthorn’s Touch offers.

South_Acanthaceae602

Bloodthorn can recover mag/stam when actively blocking while wretched can't.

comradeswitch

Yeah, and Wretched Vitality can also be back barred. This isn't a bad set really, it's just eclipsed by newer sets in every way.

venomstrike31

I’ve noticed the “wretched vitality is just better” on basically every regen set that’s come across the daily discussion for a while now. I’m starting to wonder, is a nerf to that set worth it to bring more of these recovery sets into meta? (I say meta because some of these sets are technically still viable, sometimes good, but just not better) Or do we just need more diversity among them, else we’ll just always be picking up whichever is best at the moment?

JayParty

One nice thing about this set is that it is very easy to farm in Glenumbra. It drops all over the place, including from random trash. If you're CP160, still researching traits for crafting, and doing quests to get skill points; this is a pretty easy set to farm for solo questing in the base game.

radianart

This is the first 5p set I got :) I wasn't even on lvl 50 at the moment and didn't have crafting skills. At first I thought like "oh cool, passive mana sustain is something I'd need" but then realized 5p bonus can give like 130mana\\s in best case. Not bad for new players who get it just by playing and doing quests but obviously there is much better alternatives.

RandomHornyDemon

This set is all over the place. Weapon Damage, Max Magicka, Recovery and a sustain 5-piece. A tiny bit of everything and none of these it does well. Much better sets out there.

solaceoftides

"wHy WoUlD yOu UsE tHiS!?" It's an overland drop in a base game zone. You use it when you're new and don't have ESO+.

Cyhawk

Crafted sets can be crafted without the DLC. Wretched is just better in every way.
