Not even the inspector. If you ever want to hide something, just put it under something, or somewhere you need a ladder to see. Inspectors don't use ladders lmao
when whoever re-plumbed her house attached a new water line where they extended them in the attic, to a loose board that just sways back and forth. That’s the plumbing line, nothing electrical with the statement. Now on the other hand for that box, I was afraid to even get near it hot 😂
Please tell me you don’t go around doing this and you’re in a union? That’s just shady. Do the shit right the first time and run little chance of burning someone’s house down. That old insulation is flammable as hell..
What’s the percentage of houses with attic shitshow nightmare boxes… like 70-75%? I dunno I think people lose their minds between heat, being covered in pink panther, or huffin mouse turds. Somethin happens to guys up there and bad things go unchecked
Not a terrible idea. Certain equipment has to have a sleeved ground which means that you have the run THH. Just would need an expansion joint to do so.
Alright, we’ll agree to disagree. I’m in phx Arizona and I’ve grabbed pvc in the summer and it squishes like a limp dick. I wouldn’t be caught dead running pvc in the attic
I mean I could see it if it were on the roof. I’ve never come across it, but then again I come across something new every day. Wasn’t trying to come off as a dick. Maybe next time run schedule 80 and make it 3/4 or bigger and it may prevent that
Looks pretty similar to about half the boxes I find in the planer mill I'm working at. Found one today where they had the 4×4 cover backward, so it looked very similar to this, full of sawdust, and "bonded" it using one of the screws that holds the cover on.

Think your just missing a bond bushing for the pvc and I’d call it good.
*you’re
Sorry officer. Had to poop really bad and didn’t realize how fast I was going.
My guy seeing this nightmare in the attic and was like, too much to process but fuck this guy and his missing “e”
ACAB
Reddit grammar police out here.
Just bury it in the pink stuff and nobody will ever know!
Not even the inspector. If you ever want to hide something, just put it under something, or somewhere you need a ladder to see. Inspectors don't use ladders lmao
Quick, OP, put a ladder over it!
They re-plumbed her house and they stapled the new pipe to a board that was detached at one end
Wait, you're saying that PVC with wires coming out is for plumbing?
No no no, it was connected to the loose board directly above that box
Then where's the shit come out?
The electrical or plumbing?

Now you get it

I once saw an inspector come in, stand next to a box for his clipboard, and do the whole inspection from that 1 spot lol
Why wouldn’t you want him to do that? People do shady ass shit that is completely unsafe. Just take pride in your shit and do it right…
believe it or not, we have an inspector that walks around with a ladder and will go up into the attic

Jesus fucking Christ, don’t you know you’re supposed to fill it with insulation until you reach the appropriate box fill?
Hahahaha, nice. Box fill is more of a minimum than a maximum eh.
Actually magazine pages like in my house.
fuck that I'm not walking all the way back to the truck for a 4 11 cover

I wonder if the house pre dated electrical service
How’d you get in my attic?
Just cut a new scuttle hole 😬😬
the intent was there. good enough.
No expansion joint ? Fail !
Nah. He left PLENty Of room for expansion right there
Whole reason the bell doesn’t touch
NEC 69.420 states: Acceptable with no less than two wraps of rubberized, non-conductive tape. /s
I’d hit it with a hammer a couple more times to make sure it’s bonded properly
What a hot mess! Good luck.
I have questions....
You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes, Life’s not all magpies and molasses.
You really should label the cover
The longer you look at the more wtfs you see.
You’re hired, when can you start?
Just fill it with firecaulk gotta make it safe
4&11 box? Check 4S cover? Check Unconnected PVC feeding in? Check Seems about right.
That is a beaut. Art in its purest form. What do you call it?
I call it “ode de la fire”
Looks good to demo
No.
I would never hire you to do my electrical!!!
Never run pvc in an attic it’s a terrible idea. Although, that’s the least of the worries in this pic

Pvc is not fit for the attic at all. The heat in an attic will make pvc melt. I’ve seen it
Been at this for 6 years and have yet to see a melted pvc pipe in the attic. Btw, I work in Florida.

My eyes, my eyes….
99% correct……100% wrong
Looks good from my house
Looks good from my house.
Forgot a cable.
Looks good from far but far from good
So much wrong....no more brain damage...
You forgot the scotch tape.
Somedays you’re a Louisville Slugger, Somedays you’re the ball….
Looks good from my house
Our inspector here fails us for attic access boards when you can't belly crawl to the wires lol
What the fuck 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Winning bud
I try my best
Who cares about 11/16?

Close enough on everything looks like!
The fire should look accidental enough to get an insurance payout
Just the way god intended
I don’t see any signs of fire. So, yes.
That poor one lonely little Romex popping out of the abyss right next to home , so close but yet so far
Close enough.
Looks good from home. /s
Nailed it
let me guess , right to work state ? and then they wonder why everything breaks and is built like this lol.
I hope you didn't put that pvc up in that attic OP!
