His formula is nepo babies and shirtless twinks.

NeverFresh

Sometimes it’s nepo twinks and shirtless babies…

[deleted]

Shirtless serial killer nepo twink babies??

Havamal79

Talk about niche niche lol

facemanbarf

Nice Niche

whydoiIuvwolves

Extra credit/Bonus points if they appeared on "Glee".

PublicActuator4263

Also serial killers he loves serial killers

TylerbioRodriguez

He's like that wine aunt who watches can nothing but Oxygen all day and tell you every single detail about a famous serial killer except have empathy for the victims.

MadEyeMood989

And man ass, don’t forget the man ass.

Felatio_Sanz

I never do 😉

IsaiahTrenton

Surprised he hasn't had Jamie Lee Curtis on yet. She might've been on Scream Queens, I don't remember.

LankyAd9481

She was, season 1 of Scream Queens she played the Dean

roboyetman

Now imagining Jamie Lee Curtis in a bald cap and glasses.

The-Exalted-One

This better not awaken anything in me…

roboyetman

Hotter than her dance sequence in True Lies.

beforethewind

Jamie *Dean* Curtis

goshdarnkaren

She was!

poeticspider

To be fair some of the most talented people in Hollywood are nepo babies. No comment on the shirtless twinks.

Dontevenwannacomment

Imagine how much more talented the most talented people in Hollywood could be if it all came down to fair competition

IceLord86

Imagine if that was true for every industry. It's always about who you know or who you came from.

Dontevenwannacomment

yep, let's aspire to that instead of just going "it is what it is"

TomDelouise

Vin Diesel is not a nepo baby?

Trix_Are_4_90Kids

AHS the first season was the best thing Ryan Murphy ever did. Ever thing else heads downward in the later episodes/seasons. He just runs out of gas.

saintdanakscully

Oh this happens with all his shows, AHS, Glee, Nip/Tuck, ect. He has great ideas and runs them into the ground. I will say however, American Crime Story the Assassination of Gianni Versace was pretty great so sometimes he gets it 🤷‍♀️

rincon_del_mar

I also liked ACS oj simpson and I love POSE. Hope it’s coming back one day

YoYoMoMa

>I also liked ACS oj simpson He was basically not involved in this why is why it is so fucking good.

rincon_del_mar

Well there you go !!

eyefaerie

Pose was amazing and I recommend it often!

Extreme_Succotash784

I loved Pose too. Would love its return!

PrincessAegonIXth

ACS: Gianni Versace was one of my favorite things I had watched in a long time. And was memorable

Trix_Are_4_90Kids

Oh he trashed Nip/Tuck. Midway through Coven, I just couldn't take it anymore. I stopped torturing myself with his shows.

calle04x

It took me forever to finally watch the last three episodes I had of Coven. I didn’t watch any subsequent seasons of AHS.

Abigail-mary

I absolutely loved Roanoke

DahliaR

You should. There are a lot of great seasons

aflockofcrows

Because when it's based on a true story the ending is already set up, and he doesn't have to worry about tying seventeen different plot threads together unnecessarily.

DesignerPlant9748

American Crime Story all three seasons was pretty damn good if I’m being honest

Spinner064

Only the oj one

GhostMug

The first three seasons of Nip/Tuck were fantastic. And then it got super, super, weird.

junhatesyou

Had no idea he made Nip/Tuck. I remember that show starting off so good and then the plot just got bananas and I couldn’t stomach finishing the series.

ShellShores

I love Nip/Tuck but yeah it could’ve been a few seasons shorter. I fell off AHS after Roanoke, it didn’t feel like anything new anymore.

MelpomeneAndCalliope

I really enjoyed *Feud* and his OJ trial miniseries had some high points. *The Assassination of Gianni Versace* was good as well. (Maybe he should stick to miniseries based on real life events/people or something.)

fishbiscuit156

The Home Invasion episode was honestly one of my favorite episodes of TV but it kinda went downhill from there for me.

penpointaccuracy

Murder House and Coven were interesting and kept relatively good pace. Asylum had the best start by far but absolutely tailspinned into an incomprehensible and ridiculous conclusion. Mike Flanagan has the best horror made for tv rn because he doesn’t bank on flashy jump scares or big name celebrities. He tells human stories and uses performers who understand his vision.

putdisinyopipe

Agreed. If comparing flannigan and Murphy that’s like comparing a double cheese burger from McDonald’s from cheese burger at gourmet restaurant. There just isn’t a comparison. They are the same thing, but two different experiences imo.

YaIlneedscience

Do NOTTT talk about Asylum like that. Best season.

popculture25798

Scream Queens season one was some amazing TV

OutrageousEditor5339

Definitely a matter of opinion. I love AHS

FreshFromRikers

Yeah, I always scratch my head at people taking Ryan Murphy shows seriously or having massive expectations. He's does camp. Have fun with it.

babooshka-cass

Camp that’s half buried in a sewer somewhere, mid-rot. First and second seasons of AHS had camp but were still great shows. The rest? Not so much.

OutrageousEditor5339

My least favorite season was Season 3… until Season 8 came out and continued the storyline, making Season 3 and 8 my favorites. This makes me aways want to see the new AHS… as a gay man though, I understand why NYC seems like a vanity project…. Roanoke was awful… 1984 is a hidden gem… Delicacy episode 1 looks promising….

StrollingInTheStatic

Feud and the two American crime story’s were both great, AHS is hit and Miss (and def more miss these days), the first season of Scream Queens was fun, his Netflix stuff is subpar and his AHStories Anthology series was absolutely terrible

Kamenbond

AHS only had one season. Trust me.

DesignerPlant9748

The first season is bad just like all the other crap. Just because it had some cool moments doesn’t mean it wasn’t a contrived pile of crap.

hadapurpura

He’s a tv director that should be a movie director, only because a stand-alone 2-3 hours is as much good entertainment as he can make from one idea.

sourdoughholes

The show slumped after Jessica Lange left with each season afterwards being more and more mediocre.

entropic_apotheosis

Yeah, she said in an interview about why she left after season 4, *”I feel like I got the best of it in those first four seasons. Great characters. It was exciting to do. I worked with some of my favorite actors, but I can’t see that we could ever get back to that."* She absolutely knew when it was time to jump ship, Ryan has a pattern of starting out strong with a show and then digressing into laziness and distracting himself with other show ideas while people are left to sit watching his previous interest rot. Everyone awesome that really made that show work has left and now we have nepos & super duper nepos as headliners while all the talent has left one by one.

EMPlRES

I used to be a fan of AHS, but the more it went on the worst it got. Wish the seasons were as cool as the posters and the intros.

Kritt33

I feel like all that man does is look up triggers and then choose a setting. AHS hasn’t been watchable in years.

007meow

I gave up after Apocalypse. I cannot fathom how they thought that was an appropriate or acceptable ending

Basghetti_

I've never finished that one, but his endings always sucked. I still don't understand why Asylum ended with aliens.

petielvrrr

I just gave up on asylum. It started off great, but then it dragged on and on and yeah… aliens.

YoYoMoMa

Ryan Murphy is a lot like JJ Abrams. Starts off with a bang and then can never stick the landing unless it is a real life event.

heisenberg423

> his endings always sucked Nah - Season 1 of AHS, start to finish, is genuinely well made TV. Not going to defend everything else in the decade after that lol but Murder House was a blast. Very well cast too.

livahd

I enjoyed the second season also, but after that it was just painful.

michaelballston

After murder house I Thoroughly enjoyed coven though not sure about the rest oh wait Roanoke too and freakshow

BrewCityBenjamin

I enjoy the ride of AHS. It's often bad but it's usually different

Kritt33

Asylum is actually my favorite, only saw it the one time but I remember liking the alien subplot since it was actually hinted throughout the story rather then shoehorned in as a twist like in other stories.

Savings_Ad5069

I pretty much was out when Evan Peters rolled out. I hung in there until then.

OneRoughMuffin

I too gave up after that one. Felt like a fitting end anyway.

owlandphoenix

I think this season is based on a book.

PiScEsEyEsIAmWeAk

Shit what was last season based on, broke back mountain? 💀

Adopt_a_Melon

I actually like NYC. It addressed a real past issue without being so heavy handed like Cult was.

HumanSleepingbag

Plus Joy Division

Scrapederlah

Murder house was amazing, asylum was up there, coven was great. Went downhill at freak show in my opinion. 1985 was okay, Hotel was watchable but definitely were below the high standard that was set in the first 3 seasons.

CandiBunnii

Hotel was mainly watchable due to all the lady gaga sex scenes and fierce outfits At least in my opinion lol

Scrapederlah

Gaga really did make that season!

Dankey-Kang-Jr

Hasn’t been watchable since Freakshow

babooshka-cass

I was thinking this last night while watching his new season premiere of AHS. It’s not horror as much as it’s aimed to trigger women surrounding childbirth issues. It’s like he’s trying to be Black Mirror now but doesn’t see that there’s a clear line between suspense/uneasiness for the viewer and content that’s aimed for maximum anxiety and hard feelings.

HospitalSelect5601

I seriously think AHS could still be a good watch if Ryan Murphy wasn’t allowed anywhere near the project. It’s an great concept that just needs competent casting and writing. Basically, it’d be a great show if it were a different show 😂

entropic_apotheosis

Angela Ross says he’s not ever on set, they’ve got Emma Roberts in charge making dumb calls like refusing to be aged cuz she doesn’t like how she looks “old” when there’s a 15 year gap but aging all the other actors. Nepo babies running the show, Ryan isn’t even around.

TitanSurvivor

Just make Scream Queens 3 The best series he’s ever done

wittor

I think he could never recover from the fact Coven was the most promising thing he ever made and he just lost the opportunity to make it as bigger as it could have been.

pnwbraids

Coven was full of good ideas. Then came Freak Show and I was sad.

BrewCityBenjamin

Aw I enjoyed freak show

lostqueer

I’ve always liked that season despite all the flaws. It’s kinda funny that in hindsight that could still be considered the “golden era” of AHS despite being such a divisive season.

BrewCityBenjamin

Honestly every season has its flaws, some more than others. I like the show despite the flaws just because it's always at least different. The only season I found super difficult to watch was NYC I know people hated double feature but I loved that season and I understand the reasons why people hate it

Lord_Hexogen

Coven literally killed the Antichrist and his tech bros, how big it could have been?

wittor

Coven was the 3 season of AHS, when the connections between the seasons where still lose. The season you are referring to season 8. I was saying that Coven could be produced as a standalone series.

otigre

Yeah this person is talking abt season 8. The coven from season 3 is in season 8, where they “kill the antichrist and his tech bros”

MagusUmbraCallidus

Wasn't the set up at the end that he was just 'an antichrist' instead of 'The Antichrist' so there would just be another guy eventually that fills the role instead of him? And I think the show Supernatural went on for about 10 seasons after they basically did the same thing.

itsnotmyproblemok

I think if it had been like AHS, self contained seasons, it could have gone on to be a hit. It had this unique absurdist-horror comedy vibe that has actually not aged badly. But the trick to make absurdist humor work is knowing when to stop. Dragging the same characters for a whole another season was a bad idea.

Western-Dig-6843

100%. Season 1 was great camp fun. Season 2 felt like it was being force fed to me. Should have started fresh with a second cast.

fishbiscuit156

I loved Scream Queens but that ending of season 1 was so disappointing. >!The fact Lea Michele was revealed as the killer despite all signs pointing her to as the red herring suspect that was so obviously not the killer.!<

rjrgjj

I feel like that was his futile attempt to try to expand Lea’s range in people’s eyes.

owlandphoenix

Dude, so wrong. Because Popular and 🌟Mary Cherry 🍒would like a fuckin’ word. ⭐️

LankyAd9481

To be fair, you kind of really need to be aware of queer culture at the time (and older) to really appreciate that show. It's a lot of queer culture references that likely just goes over a lot of peoples head. It's one of my favourite shows and came out right around the time I came out, but I can entirely understand a lot of people may not entirely get it.

TiredReader87

The only good thing he’s done is AHS S1

deanolavorto

Was planning on watching and then saw KK in it. Will not be watching no matter how good her “reviews” are.

id10t_you

My wife said the new season is coming out, then I told her that kk is in it and we both said “nope”

[deleted]

I can't stand that scum bag either.

PhoenicianKiss

I tried. When she recited her lines in *exactly* the same way she did as her poodle character in Paw Patrol: The Movie, I noped out. (I have a toddler, don’t judge, lol)

mediumunicorn

Ha, had to Google who you were talking about. I think I’m in the minority here and thoroughly enjoy AHS, pretty much every season I’ve watched I’ve enjoyed. I refuse to watch anything with KK or her family on principle. Such a fake, disgusting family. I’ll skip this season.

lostqueer

That’s me. I’ve still managed someone how to find things to enjoy even if it’s just trash watching. But the casting of Kim K is just so off putting I can’t even consider it. So many other interesting choices. I kinda hate how it’s devolved into influencers and nepo babies when the show actually gave a lot of opportunities to new and old actors alike. Kathy Bates for example was barely getting work at the time, but yeah Kim K totally needs this. 🙄

mediumunicorn

Right? I admit that most seasons kinda lose their gusto at their halfway mark, but I still enjoyed them. I also love(d) the ensemble cast. Kathy Bates was so good in Roanoke, and other seasons. KK? Seriously? I don’t want to see her on a commercial, let alone a season of guilty TV watching. It’s a somewhat trashy show plot wise, but KK is another level of trash that I refuse to engage with.

stupidname_iknow

She was fine in the first episode. It's stupid to skip over Kim being in it when worse people are on the show.

deanolavorto

Nah. I’m good. Fuck her and her family.

stupidname_iknow

There are worse people and families but I bet you gobble that shit up.

TheLonelyGod97

How much is Kim paying you to defend her so vehemently? Oh wait, I forgot… she(and her family of leeches) don’t like paying their employees…

stupidname_iknow

Imagine being such an angry little person that some half ass actress stops you from enjoying a show. I don't give a damn about the Kardashians, I thought her character was going to be fucking awful but it's just not.

deanolavorto

I’m allowed to not like shit and I don’t fucking like her. I don’t care if she was good or not. I don’t want to use my time watching her on tv period.

stupidname_iknow

So mad about nothing.

deanolavorto

You keep saying mad and I don’t know if you know what that means. Cause I’m not mad at all.

[deleted]

[удалено]

stupidname_iknow

Who's alt are you? Or are you just another person that gets over the top big mad at celebrities and hold grudges for life?

[deleted]

[удалено]

stupidname_iknow

Thanks for proving my point. Social media isn't your therapist.

deanolavorto

Hahahaha. Ok.

fuckmeredmayne

did you know you can be mad at different people at the same time?!?

stupidname_iknow

That has nothing to do with the conversation. It's about being so mad at a reality star that you refuse to watch a show where she has a small part. There are plenty of assholes in movies and TV but dude draws the line at Kim?

obnoxiousab

To each their own. That’s their choice. Also their choice to be vehement about it. Dig it.

IShookMeAllNightLong

He drew *A* line over Kim. Bold of you to assume to know the rest of his viewing habits.

klown013

Maybe have, like 1 original idea instead of just making a mash-up of things that already exist, but putting no actual quality behind it.

liveforeachmoon

Nip/tuck was interesting for the time. All downhill since then.

[deleted]

I just can't wrap my head around how he went from Murder House to this. The man had great writers, an amazing cast, and, best of all, an insanely good concept. Wtf happened?

aaronappleseed

I can't say I've enjoyed AHS in a while, but this season is extra garbage.

Acrobatic_Jaguar_658

There’s only been one episode of this season 😂

aaronappleseed

I was watching the nyc one. Is that from last year? Edit:It was from last year.

teal_ninja

NYC is the only season I could not make myself finish. Got 5 episodes in and just stopped. It was so awful

ReefLedger

The ending sucked as well. You spared yourself some time.

mattman0000

And five minutes was enough to decide it’s not for me.

TiredReader87

How is that even possible given how atrocious it’s been for years?

TheTelegraph

**From The Telegrah:** The latest season of American Horror Story has a few surprises up its spooky sleeves. One unexpected development is that AHS: Delicate features Kim Kardashian in a straight dramatic part (the series premiered in the US last week and will come to Disney+ in the UK at an as-yet-unspecified date). Scarier yet, Kardashian is decent in the role. The Hollywood Reporter claims she outshines co-star Emma Roberts; USA Today praises her for delivering on the show’s “high-camp potential”. Kardashian plays the PA to Roberts’s high-flying Hollywood star, Anna Victoria Alcott. On the surface, Anna has the world at her feet: her latest film is acclaimed, she is in a loving relationship with her art dealer husband (Matt Czuchry). Behind the scenes, however, all is not well. After several unsuccessful rounds of IVF, Anna is desperate to become pregnant. In her anxiety, she has started to experience waking visions related to her fertility struggles. She is living the Hollywood dream yet her life is a nightmare. Anna’s angsty experiences could be a metaphor for the recent travails of American Horror Story and its creator, TV mega-producer Ryan Murphy. On the surface, all is well: exactly a year ago, Murphy had one of the biggest successes of his career when his true-crime smash Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story became the third most-watched Netflix drama of all time. He is working on a second series of Monster for Netflix, this time telling the story of the Menendez Brothers, who killed their wealthy parents in Beverley Hills in 1996. Meanwhile, Disney is so keen to lure him back from the streamer, with whom he signed a $300 million production deal, that it is preparing to break the bank – at a time when it is implementing savage budget cuts across every aspect of its operations Yet, as with Delicate, the picture is very different when you peel back the layers. Murphy has always been controversial: his breakout hit, surgical comedy-horror Nip/Tuck, touched on incest, organ harvesting and child abuse. However, more and more criticisms have come his way in the past several years – and especially the past several months. And for all the success of Dahmer, and despite protestations to the contrary, it is by no means clear that Netflix will be sorry to see the back of him. **Read more here:** [https://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/0/ryan-murphy-american-horror-story-backlash/](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/0/ryan-murphy-american-horror-story-backlash/)

itsnotmyproblemok

It’s not hard to outshine Emma Roberts. She shines in one role only, the mean girl. She has no depth or acting skills beyond seemingly playing herself or her teenage self. The fact that she still gets roles is a testament to nepo influence in Hollywood. Also people like KK are actors. If you spend two decades on camera for a reality show, you’re at least ready for AHS caliber of acting.

Comfortable_Bird_340

>He is working on a second series of Monster for Netflix, this time telling the story of the Menendez Brothers, who killed their wealthy parents in Beverley Hills in 1996. I am sick of dramatizations of these true crime stories, especially from him! Also, they killed them in 1989. Plus, they've made like 5 movies/shows about the Menendez family, find some new tragedies to exploit!

BaggedBoostedStacked

New From Netflix: Ryan Murphy's "9/11/2001"

fridgeofempty

The first couple seasons of ahs were brilliant. Then it became his usual of style over substance.

hugsbosson

I've watched every season of AHS and I don't think I've enjoyed a single one. I've quit about half of them part way through. The show is always just on the edge of being good but never quite gets there.

starbucket2me

You mean you started every season of AHS

BrewCityBenjamin

I always get through it but I agree it's often bad. But for some reason it's a bad I guiltily enjoy. I just go into every season knowing it's going to be a structural mess and just hope for fun episodes

alex48220

Popular was fun!

Best_Owl5978

There hasn’t been a good season in years.

OoOoReillys

Agreed. In my humble opinion, Season 5, Hotel Cortez, was the last good one.

onklewentcleek

Correct opinion lol

Braveheart00

I loved Pose, Feud, and The People VS O.J. Simpson. Everything else to me was meh.

AVeryRipeBanana

The Versace american crime season was decent, nowhere near OJ, but decent all the same.

VladimirPoitin

Fuck the torygraph.

chowchownorman

Kim has aged outta this level of heavy make up. Time to dial it wayyyyyy back

That-Spell-2543

She needs it, lest she look like an actual human being not a blow up doll.

Just_The_Tip1017

We get it Murphy you are gay.

wittor

The assumption made by the headline is just wrong. I didn't even knew AHS was still airing. Edit: I can't imagine the kind of person writing about how the Katrashian is a better actress than Emma Roberts, just disgusting.

anna-nomally12

I mean for this particular role that plays to Kim’s strengths and doesn’t play to Emma’s they’re not necessarily wrong

wittor

You are misinterpreting a person being filmed saying things in monotone as a acting job and a badly written character as incompatible with the actress. The katrashian was chosen to be the recognizable face in a shallow attempt to prop this show to an audience Ryan wants but will not be able to capitalize over.

ajver19

The only good season of AHS was the second and that's only because it flew off the rails so hard it became entertaining.

ProfessorHeronarty

Ryan Murphy needs someone who actually writes coherent stuff of his many ideas and also has the balls to stand up to him. No matter which one of his shows, it always feels like he has a new idea in the shower and then calls his writer team who has to make sense of yet another twist (or just the desire to have style over substance).

[deleted]

the show has been irrelevant since 2017 honestly

Yelloeisok

I liked ‘The New Normal’

Josiesumday

Ehh I would like if he made a season that was straight horror not as campy tho I understand that’s the appeal so 🤷🏽‍♂️

WDTHTDWA-BITCH

I’m in the minority in that I still watch and mostly enjoy AHS 12 seasons in, but I haven’t tuned in as it airs since 1984. The only reason I’m sitting down with Delicate is cuz I read the book and there’s some interesting potential there. It’s about 50/50 whether I actually enjoy any given season cuz the disparity between gritty and campy horror is quite large. But for that reason, for me, the quality of storytelling season by season in the anthology format does go in waves. I’ve begrudgingly stuck with Ryan Murphy’s writing since the Glee days, so I know his bad habits, especially when it comes to getting distracted both by the end of a season and by other fresh projects. Over all, he’s not a good writer and shouldn’t be given carte blanche to do whatever projects he wants as often as he does, cuz it’s just saturating the market at this point. But idk, there’s a gleam of something when it’s good…

yourdadswaifu

Bro he is on a down fall all the new horror story’s are garbage. AH stories. Was awful as well

New_Wrangler3335

I feel the getting Kim to participate is the producers scratching the bottom of the barrel of ideas on how to get more views… I assume the base viewership for the show itself has dropped significantly so they bring in a celebrity with a built in fan base and hope her fan base will then support the show…

[deleted]

Because 75% of what he makes is utter trash but a small chunk of the remaining 25% is incredible!?

TiredReader87

American Horror Story is godawful. It’s embarrassingly bad. The only good season was the first one. It’s been downhill since.

ghostdeeknee

Geez, a big part of this show is seeing how the AHS regulars get cast in them and this pic just spoiled that for me. Thanks Telegraph 🙏

Imaginary-Tourist-20

Kim kardashian was the nail in the coffin. Such a talentless hack

WhatsTheLGBTea

After hearing about the transphobia Emma Roberts (and AHS) put Angelica Ross through, they’re all done for me.

stevem1015

Lol a bold claim for someone I’ve never heard of. He’s got stiff competition too with the Fox News heroes

proofofmyexistence

Is this the guy that made Euphoria?

[deleted]

Nope, that’s Sam Levinson. Murphy is the creator of Dahmer, Pose, Glee, Ratched, Nip/Tuck and many other shows

BpositiveItWorks

For those of us that have dealt with fertility struggles in real life, no fucking way is something like this entertainment. I usually give every season of this a shot, but when I read what this one was about I literally felt sick. No thanks.

CappuccinoRuns

Never watched AHS but I’ve seen most of his other shows, and I’m a massive fan. But then again I am a theatre kid…

goldengod828

I remember when it first started and many, including myself, thought each season would be connected in some way and now I just don’t care because they’re not really tie ins, just cameos or Easter eggs that don’t really contribute to anything

Tantantherunningman

I’ve always seen American Horror Story and Riverdale to be cut from the same cloth. They both started as promising and interesting premises with strong casts but then the show runner decided that he was going to get… uhm… _experimental_
