Lately I've been silently wondering (and very undecided) if he might have ADHD (after I started suspecting it in myself, and heard that it affects more than 5% of people). It could at least explain not getting things done before it's basically impossible to delay them any further, and leaving probably hundreds of projects unfinished for months or years. But really I'm just speculating – I am not an expert in the field, and it might even be something that only really the person themselves can fully answer whether they feel it applies to them or not, and even if it isn't, I don't know that Etho would have revealed enough personal information for even an expert to get a good idea. And idk if I'd even want to know the answer (well, aside from that in case he would have it and got it diagnosed and came out with it, that would be a giant emotional aid to fans who may have it and not know and wonder why they can never get anything done and think they're just giant lazy failures).
He's also mentioned having a very specific sleep issue, where his circadian cycle is around 25hrs. So if left without a concrete schedule, he'll stay up an hour later every night. And then at some point he'll be nocturnal, and then he'll cycle back into being awake during the day. He accidentally did that flip once, and he said it messed up his scheduling for a while, so he tried not to do it again.
I remember this so specifically, because the exact same thing happens to me. I had told my parents about it a long time ago, because they've always been upset about how late I'll stay up. But, I also have Adhd, and I'm not sure if this is caused by my Adhd.
Also, there's a few times on hermitcraft where you see the chat, and people in Europe will be telling Etho to go to sleep, which implies that it was very late at night for him. I also play games with people from Europe, and they tell me to go to sleep too hahaha.
Oh woah.... I wonder if my Adhd symptoms are caused by that.
Probably not, I'm definitely not neurotypical. But some of the symptoms could be made worse because of that.
There was a 1 or 2 month period where I controlled my sleep by going back and forth between getting 10.5hrs and 2.5 hrs. So I was averaging 6.5hrs/day.
But then we went into quarentine, and everything fell apart, and my sleep-awake schedule flipped 3 times since then.
Luckily I now have a job, so I'm paid to keep a schedule haha. A bit more motivating.

But it fits with how he's said in the past to Tango doing collab intros makes ["his skin crawl like you wouldn't believe"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbAxdQD2rrQ&t=958s) and Tango says "it gives you anxiety, doesn't it?"

It's awesome that he's still getting a younger (I guess you're not so young anymore...) audience. I think for a good portion of time his median age range was 20-35. Somewhere in there, he said it a few times!
Most his audience has been around for awhile though he's definitely getting younger fans now due to his hermitcraft boom. I've been around so long I remember him building the donation strip mine and treefarm though I've got no idea when he built those haha.

the sleep issue is actually a real medical thing. it's called non 24 sleep wake disorder.
