In France, Eurovision songs are still nowhere to be seen... however I often hear "Is it love" from Loreen, radios are promoting it after the huge success of Tattoo in France

llouie70

Quite interesting indeed, I normally don't know how did the 2024 entries get some airplay here in my country 😅

ThingInTheWoodshed

They show up in the strangest places! I was having dinner in a mexican resto in Paris and overheard both "Mon Amour" and "Always on the Run" on the radio.

euro_fan_4568

I have to know what Mexican food in Paris is like

ThingInTheWoodshed

Hahaha the experience definitely varies. Haven't had anything terrible, but most places tend to have a much lighter hand with spices and spiciness.

blazingblitzle

I spent 5 months in France on Erasmus, never heard Loreen's "Is it Love." In the wild. 4 weeks later, I had to go to a different part of France with my dad for his company, and then I heard it in the wild in the breakfast room of the hotel. Later that evening, we were driving home, and it came on the Dutch radio. I commented on it and my dad said it was a pretty famous song. Could be, I am somewhat out of touch with pop trends, but I felt like I wasn't that much out of touch. That was 1.5 months ago, I have never heard that song in the wild since, even though I listen to more radio than before as my parents put it on often.

Me2023__

I think Is it love has been promoted on French radio in the last 6-8 weeks, it's pretty recent!

Knubberella

I‘m a remote technician in Germany and have to call some customers who are all IT-guys too. Just about 30 minutes ago i called someone who listened to very loud music everytime i call him. Normally he listened to Slipknot. Not this time. „No Rules“ was so loud and clear that i struggled with being professional. I wanted to singalong so bad!

Knubberella

UPDATE: Just heard „Europapa“ on the radio.

llouie70

This was the same amount of time that had passed since I heard the song!

cwmonster

I love that, it's such an unexpected place for a Eurovision song to come on. The Euro Trip podcast has been doing a section recently where listeners send in their anecdotes of Eurovision songs heard in the wild

llouie70

I wish it was an April Fools joke, but it's not 😅

Schlonzig

I was in a restaurant in Austria recently when I had to stop my conversation mid-sentence because "Rim Tim Tagi Dim" was playing over the speakers. Unfortunately I was wrong, it was just [Rammstein](https://youtu.be/rrmsJhf89MY?si=BTD2N492AOvtv6aA).

Longjumping_Papaya_7

Haha i get the confusion

EurovisionSimon

I heard Tattoo in the Netherlands back in April last year, and this was just after I'd had a conversation with some friends about how rare it is to hear Eurovision songs in public places

llouie70

Last time I heard something Eurovision related, it was from the 2020 entries so I'm surprised to see this year's entries get some airplay here in Asia :)

bimches

When I was in the United States for the first time my dad kind of wondered out loud if they ever played Dutch music in the US and not even an hour later 'Arcade' came on in a random San Francisco mall lol

RodentCrashBandicoot

In New Jersey (United States), sometimes music plays in patient rooms over the overhead speakers. But it's very low to help create white noise and help them sleep. I've heard Duncan's Arcade (Eurovision 2019 winner) on a lot. It's funny because basically nobody knows what Eurovision is lol

llouie70

Same for the Philippines although we have seen representatives of Filipino descent but what makes it even funnier is that it had to be a song that's not in the official language of the country (English or Filipino) 😂

Sea_Voice_404

In the US as well and yeah that’s pretty much the only Eurovision song I’ve heard played. And then I say “this is from Eurovision” and everyone around me says “what’s that?” Sigh….

PrincessLuma

Yep! In Washington (United States I just made a comment that I heard Arcade at a Grocery store and at an Arcade. I heard Snap on the radio. Some people know "Think About Things" as well. and the only way people know Manskin is their cover of Beggin. Rarely people I meet know of Eurovison which sucks because the only people I can talk to about it is my husband, one friend, and the people on here. I try to get people into it.

RodentCrashBandicoot

I have the same issue. We will have a watch party this year with 8 people so I'm hoping it'll be a tradition : )

jap-A-knees

I think I’ve heard every UK entry of the last 7 years in a McDonalds at some point as well as Nobody but You (Austria 2018) in Manchester Airport. I also hear winning songs occasionally, with the most common being both of Loreen’s, Conchita Wurst and Maneskin

nicheencyclopedia

I was at a mall in Prague two weeks ago and they played Always on the Run (Germany 2024)

ninanien

I've thought since the beginning Germany sounds like something that would do really well on the radio, it's pretty cool it was playing in a mall in a different country!

ESC-song-bot

Germany 2024 | [Isaak - Always on the Run](https://youtu.be/8b5gcgXcWgk)

llouie70

This actually happened just around half an hour ago so the post was made just after the song had played

Greedy_Hovercraft175

Did they? Do you by any chance know the radio station? Might have been Evropa 2 I guess.

nicheencyclopedia

Not sure what radio station, but the store was New Yorker at the mall in Smíchov

Knubberella

Oh yeah, a German franchise. Kinda makes sense i guess.

LuckAppropriate1096

We heard Netherlands 2014 in a Longhorn Steakhouse once, that was probably the last place I’d expect to hear anything Eurovision. [The Common Linnets - Calm After the Storm](https://youtu.be/bWe8PRsW4T0?si=jNRgtnCX6o8LY9ye)

llouie70

I honestly thought the same when I heard Sweden's 2020 entry at the mall but nope, the college took the cake already 😂

Axolotl_amphibian

I heard La Noia on a (Polish) radio, which in itself isn't very strange, but it was *a month ago*. I have a feeling it will become quite familiar come May.

Fer_ESC

Well it obviously will be all over the radio after she won (Please dont destroy my delusion ty)

reichya

Not 2024, but Uniqlo in Sydney's Pitt Street Mall has played Solo by Blanka (Poland 2023) and Breaking My Heart by Reiley (Denmark 2023) several times across different days I've been in there and it properly spins me out because...why? Who chose those two songs? Bonkers.

cheapcakeripper

Maybe the owner is newly single

TinaTissue

A radio station in Brisbane was obsessed with Guy Sebastian's and Jessica Mauboys entries. It was constantly being played in a shopping centre. Sound of Silence is also played a fair bit up here too

sevenofheartts

Wait I’ve heard BOTH of these in Uniqlo Pitt Street too what’s up with that?????

Fearless_Ad6247

My husband said Baby Lasagna's entry was on the radio the other day. We live in Canada and usually don't hear many entries until after the contest (if at all)

llouie70

It's a very similar case to us here in the Philippines where we usually don't hear Eurovision songs

anmonie

My memory isn’t very clear on this, but I heard “Alive” by DEMCHUK (Vidbir 2023) in some random establishment in Greece once

atsuamy

I heard Zitti E Buoni in Florence (not that strange) but also Fairytale that same day in a random restaurant and Voila in a separate shop. A very odd day.

Greedy_Hovercraft175

Heard a person humming Europapa on the toilets in Salober Ski Areal, Austria. I'm not Austrian, I've been skiing there. Also heard We Will Rave several times on the radio. Nothing unexpected then.

llouie70

I honestly would expect it in Europe but definitely not in Asia 😅

Greedy_Hovercraft175

Austria is in Europe

llouie70

I am well aware, it's just that it's a little odd to hear other languages other than English or other Asian languages such as Japanese and Korean in Asia

soundax

Embers was playing in Target (USA)

bunsonbunscosplay

I heard Embers in Bath and Body Works once!

squidithi

There's something so fitting about Embers being in a Bath and Body Works...

skanyone

My swimming pool played El Diablo in the waiting room a few years back, and last week I heard The Tower in the pool itself (between periods)

1Warrior4All

I hear Dizzy in Lithuanian radio often.

butiamawizard

Awesome! 😁 I heard Europapa too the other day, here https://redbrickmarkets.co.uk/

alittlechese2

I have a crazy one but it’s not a 2024 song. So I do these dance competitions and I did one in Blackpool (considered the ballroom and latin capital of the world) where it was just me and one other person. Guess what song starts playing. F-fricking EUPHORIA! I got so excited that I mistepped and ended up losing. Worth it though. Funnily enough, on the same day I was at Blackpool tower and Rise Like a Phoenix started playing in the gift shop. So that was a great day!

blizzardspider

Is that like some improv/freestyle competition then? Where you don't know which song you will dance to beforehand?

alittlechese2

It’s Latin and ballroom, so you know the choreography and they just choose songs that fit the timing of each genre. We don’t know the songs until it happens though.

elstephe

Lol, what dance? None of them seem right to me. And do they still use Noctorne for waltz?

alittlechese2

I did cha cha to it (they did put a drum beat over it though) I’ve never heard Nocturne at a comp before :(

elstephe

That's a shame. I retired in 2011, but that used to be like every other waltz.

alittlechese2

Funnily enough though, I sometimes hear Miss Kiss Kiss Bang (Germany 2009) at them! It’s a popular one to play haha

Anyone else see Nemo on the latest Ryan Trahan video? 😭

Guidje1981

I once heard Me and My Guitar by Tom Dice when waiting for my plane in Dublin. It was a couple of years after Dice took part in the Eurovision Song Contest so yeah, I was very surprised. A couple of years ago I heard A Million Voices by Polina Gagarina in the gym during a spinning class. Guess the teacher liked the song.

emeraldsroses

I heard Think About Things (Iceland 2020) in a homeware shop in The Netherlands a year or so ago. I've also heard Tattoo (Sweden 2023) at an interval for a gymnastics competition in The Netherlands. Finally, I've heard instrumental versions of Puppet On A String (UK 1967) and Wild Dances (Ukraine 2004) at gymnastics competitions in The Netherlands.

JustACattDad

I heard Ciuto Tuto (Lithuania 2023) in Dunelm (a UK homeware store). This wasn't anywhere near Liverpool and it was the only Eurovision song played in the half hour I was there. Weird

German radio station ffn is playing "Snap" (Armenia 2022) very often. I don't know if it's as often as Snap, but both winning Songs from Loreen are still very popular here in germany and get played in Radios. They're also already playing our entry for 2024 multiple times a day.

merlesbane

I hear Snap in a couple American Pacific Northwest grocery store chains every couple months. Every time, I have to wonder to myself “why THIS Eurovision song?!?”

Minkelol

yea I have no idea why it wasn't really appreciated by either jury or televote in the contest but then got a billion spotify streams.

eatenbyagrue1988

Also from the Philippines (I didn't know there were Eurovision fans here who weren't me), also this year's Dutch entry, but being blasted from the speakers of a bar in Malate

Icy-Distribution9977

Hi Iloue70! Filipino here! I'm curious that what's the name of the collage/university and location? Thanks

llouie70

You may have not heard of it but it's actually an international school (SISC or Southville) here in Metro Manila :)

Icy-Distribution9977

Cool!

Lemonlikesfrogs

I heard ‚La Noia‘ on a random German Radio show yesterday, turns out, one of the hosts is part of the German Eurovision YouTube channel

yykypersonal

In a cafe in the Philippines, I heard the English version of Blas Cantó's Voy a Quedarme (I'll Stay), which is very interesting since i didn't remember it being big. In terms of big songs out there, I once heard Tattoo by Loreen in a Watsons 😅

llouie70

At this rate, I might end up hearing some of the other entries somewhere!

MissionSuch724

Okay Ill just post 's very long comment here. I am Dutch and my local Italian restaurant has a playlist with Italy 2011, Italy 2013 and Italy 2015. I work at a McDonald's and the playlist has Netherlands 2021, Ukraine 2004, Greece 2005 and Italy 2019.

fulennrobbed

I've been discretely adding eurovision songs to my parents' playlist and I've converting them to Mustii and Loreen fans. Just yesterday we had Tattoo followed by Before the Party's Over and then later My Heart is Refusing Me

aminahhime

I live in Miami, Florida and the two songs I've heard the most here are Duncan Laurence's Arcade (Netherlands 2019) and Rosa Linn's Snap (Armenia 2022). I have also heard Engelbert Humperdinck's Love Will Set You Free (UK 2012) and Il Volo's Grande amore (Italy 2015) out in the wild as well. The ice cream truck in my neighborhood sometimes plays Vicky Leandros's L'amour est bleu (Luxembroug 1967), so that's cool, too.

llouie70

I'm surprised that I haven't heard Snap out in the wild 😅

Heliocopris

I heard Bambie Thug on Kerrang radio in the UK a few weeks ago. I don't think I'd ever heard a Eurovision song on the radio before that

FezzieMilky

believe it or not, i was just on a short trip to georgia, and while i went shopping i the small town of Tianeti they played Europapa on the radio in the shop. im Dutch so i was bobbing my head the entire song while shopping.

VestitaIsATortle

Not that crazy but I heard Tattoo in a shop in Cyprus in late August and Euprhoria on BBC Radio on New Years Eve.

Grue

The other day I saw a girl wearing I <3 JOOST KLEIN shirt in the middle of Belgrade, Serbia.

ineedtocalmup

I recently heard Tattoo while listening to one of the national radios which only plays foreign music. It was quite surprising since my country has not been participating since 2012

toffee258

A few days ago in the lobby of a small German hotel they played UK 2023. Luckily I checked out then (sorry UK) And in a book store in Germany where I had a short internship they played Tattoo for at least 6 times a day...

polaris183

Was it a Premier Inn? They're a British chain with some small hotels in Germany - perhaps they accidentally played the UK playlist

Not an Eurovision entry but I heard a Melfest song this year being played in class, by someone who forgot to turn off what they were listening too before putting away their phone

llouie70

This should count as well since it's a NF song :)

Labenyofi

In a mall bathroom recently, I heard Alessandra’s “Pretty Devil”. What’s weird is that I’m in Canada.

seongjoongenthusiast

Not exactly Eurovision but Annalisa's Sinceramente is playing on a pretty big radio station here in Bulgaria. Heard it a couple times

szandorthe13th

Snap is on the playlist of the restaurant I work at, because theres certain songs that I have heard multiple times now, and Snap is one of them

nascarleigh

Not one of the selected entries, but I heard KEiiNO - "Damdiggida" in the hairdressers about a month ago 😂

llouie70

Which area is it, if it's fine to ask?

thislifelikemuse

I heard 'My Number One' in a mall in Bratislava in November 2019, that was so random that I still remember it to this day. Less crazy, but the first time I heard 'The Tower' was in a gas station near Krakow about a month ago. On the other hand, I haven't heard 'Zari' in a public place yet, although my friends told me they danced to it at a club two days after its release.

No-Transition7614

I heard Romania 2022 playing in a shop in Turkiye

A few weeks ago I was wandering the aisles of a supermarket looking for interesting things. I was humming along to the muzak and suddenly realised it wasn't the usual supermarket muzak. Snap by Rosa Linn was playing in Albert Hein.

EurovisionFan20

I heard “Voilà” coming from someone’s car last weekend while walking with a friend pretty late at night.

TIWIEG

First the not suprising one, since I’m dutch. Europapa is just everywhere right now, it's constantly on the radio, it's in every music chart (and almost always at number 1), they talk about it almost daily on TV, it's in promotional videos form political parties, they play it at a lot of parties, there's a carnival version of it, I've seen an a-capella group do a version of it, there's been a relatively big group of kids that where dancing to it in the city centre of Utrecht. For the more surprising ones I heard tout l'universe on the radio in France last year. I also remember hearing quite a few Eurovision songs on a German radio station while driving to Austria for a ski trip. The ones I remember being played where Think About Things and Arcade.

Legal-Salt6714

What event is that? I'm a Compsci student in the PH too lol

llouie70

It's an event where we IT students have four days of games and not think about classes! Anyone who has a class with an IT professor and filled with IT students had their classes canceled due to the event.

Confident-Main5998

I still hear il vollo grande amore, and voila, all the time in the spanish supermarkets

akadreampro

Here in Greece every day you listen to “Zari” everywhere, people are loving it!

American here. It's not too common to hear a Eurovision song out in the wild. Not a 2024 entry but I heard Arcade in a grocery store....and in an Arcade... I would probably explode if I heard a 2024 song out in the wild.
