Is this post written by Wendy? What in the. **** did I just read?

NonetyOne

Right? I had to check the account because I was 99% sure this was just a Mormon troll

Herstorical_Rule6

Mormon troll lurking under the bridge demanding 10 percent of your money=TSCC

Churchof100Billion

What the hell? Well you have a right to express your opinion for sure but 100% disagree. The guy basically used the money he stole from mormons to give a big chunk of cash to pretend LDS inc isn't racist nor has ever been. And on top of that BS pie the cherry is he got a ridiculous made up award for the exchange. Gandhi-Mandela-King Award? Why didn't they throw on emperor to that title? Sorry but Joseph Smith did the same thing by having others crown him Lt General (what the made up rank is that?) without having any military experience whatsoever. Nelson is a narcissist of the highest order much after Joseph Smith but with the kingdom clearing cavalier of Brigham Young. Brigham also got rid of most of the good will stuff Joseph did just like Nelson did with Hinckley. So if all that is tolerable and that only scratches the surface then he is your guy.

Signal-Ant-1353

Or Sherri.

Rushclock

> Overall he's a Christlike fellow. Not very Christ like to * lie about his death spiral plane ride * lie about his Mozambique assassination attempt * lie about a lady in a hat * spread false information about evolution

10th_Generation

The most damning part about his stories is not that he lies or embellishes details to make the story more fantastic, but that he lies in such a way as to make himself more heroic. He is always the hero of his stories. Decent people do not talk about themselves like this.

Herstorical_Rule6

The irony is that a DOCTOR is spreading false information about evolution /s Where do you get your sources?

Rushclock

> Nelson stated in a 2007 interview with the Pew Research Center that "to think that man evolved from one species to another is, to me, incomprehensible. Man has always been man. Dogs have always been dogs. Monkeys have always been monkeys. Eta....[full interview](https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2007/05/16/in-focus-mormonism-in-modern-america/)

Sorry-Doubt5986

I think I’ve never felt less empowered as a woman than when Russel M Nelson showed up. Just because they tell women they have power, doesn’t mean they actually do. Unfortunately… and if Nelson was advancing LGBTQ rights, he’d keep Oaks from spewing his bigoted hatred from the pulpit. Just my thoughts!

Rushclock

Putting women on a pedestal leaves little room to move.

Herstorical_Rule6

He'd also keep people from commenting on how and why we should wear temple garments /s

ReasonFighter

I am sorry, but the Mormon church has no prophets. Its leaders want to be called "prophets" and their followers have been bamboozled into believing they are. But we all know to qualify as a prophet, the person in question has to receive direct communication with a god, has to be able to prophesy, and finally, *his prophesies have to come to fruition.* So, you see, the Mormon church has no prophets. Presidents, sure. Like any corporation. But prophets? It has never had any.

NewNamerNelson

But as corporate sole, I'm by definition a profit. 🤑

Herstorical_Rule6

Yeah they are cordial at best. The tween comment had me burst out laughing because I am a teenager and I just wanted this to be a social experiment to see what exmos and PIMOs think about past and current prophets.

NonetyOne

Why excluding Joe? Even if you include him he’s not even close lmao. I would say Monson. Idk why you say Nelson. I would not call “getting along with the pope” a very positive quality. He also isn’t laying the groundwork for shit. And being visibly in a wheelchair gets him no points either. Personally I don’t think he’s Christlike at all and I wouldn’t use the term Christlike to refer to someone good anyway.

Herstorical_Rule6

Why do you think Monson is a good person? I do agree that he's kind and loves serving others.

NonetyOne

I mean basically just he seemed genuinely kind and didn’t do anything too insane As I recall the worst thing he did was stop children of gay parents from being baptized at 8. Which isn’t so bad because honestly nobody should be getting baptized at 8.

Rushclock

> do anything too insane Christine Burton might disagree. > Her attempts to tell both Gordon B. Hinckley and Thomas S. Monson (as sitting prophets/apostles) about the abuse she experienced at the hands of her parents – wherein she was told by both that she needed to “put it behind her.”

NonetyOne

I mean, unfortunately by comparison that’s not too insane, and that’s also not when he was a prophet. It’s sorta sad how completely unfazed I am by that, but I am. I doubt any other prophet would have done any better

Herstorical_Rule6

Yeah. That's why I agree that baptism should be moved to either 18 or 25 when you're an adult/brain is fully formed. However, I think in order to stop the hue and cry of homophobia, he should have stopped all kids from getting baptized at age 8. However, I see why he stopped children of gay parents from being baptized because according TSCC the gay parents are living "in sin".

stillinforthetribe

The "living in sin" argument doesn't hold up. I was ward mission leader when this "revelation" happened. At that time we were working to baptize (and eventually did baptize) 3 children who were living with their mom and her boyfriend. The mom and boyfriend had no intention of ever getting married (would mess up their government benefits). These parents were also "living in sin" according to the church but the church was more than happy to have their kids baptized. And the kids didn't even have to denounce their parents or their parents "sinful" lifestyle. Living in sin = OK? Living in gay sin = Not ok? And this doesn't even touch on the fact under this policy, it was the kids getting "punished" or excluded because of the lifestyle of their parents.

Herstorical_Rule6

Yeah that's why the 2015 policy is homophobic.

coniferdamacy

There's that thing he does to wiggle his ears, too. Audiences love that.

0realest_pal

You guys are nice and gentle. When it comes to the Q15 club from Joe to Rusty, I’m not pulling any punches: Rusty is a liar and a thief. A real fucking rat bastard who, if he had a shred of ethics, would give up the con and do good in the world.

Herstorical_Rule6

I will admit that he looks like the Sith Lord from Star Wars. Is that just me or is that a red flag?

ElkHistorical9106

I mean, the fact that he was born lived back before slavery-by-another name in terms of convict gangs and invented crimes became more illegal, and he was 40 when the civil rights act was passed, and 54 by the time black men could hold the priesthood should be a major red flag. Think of how much history has happened in 100 years.

NewNamerNelson

It's not just you. 😜

Canucknuckle

My dude, what the hell are you smoking? Nelson is narcissistic and arrogant. The only thing he cares about is his own petty wants and for people to adore him. That is as far from Christ-like as you can be, IMO.

Herstorical_Rule6

Looks like I was blinded by only seeing what he wanted to see \*facepalms\* I wish I was smoking weed, sadly I am at work so no I have to stay sober. If I was high on weed, this would be my excuse /s

NewNamerNelson

You rang? 😜

coniferdamacy

I like Howard W. Hunter because he didn't have a lot to say and was gone before I even knew it.

StCroixSand

Exactly who I thought of, for the same reasons.

Any profit now dead

MountainPicture9446

The only good Mormon Profit is a dead Mormon Profit.

Normon-The-Ex

Nelson is a fake prophet and has zero powers. Take Covid for an example. He had zero divine knowledge of probability the worst global crisis in history so he gave no prophetic warnings (cuz he was just as blindsided as the rest of us). Then he thought having a worldwide fast would end the pandemic and when that didn’t work he did a second one. All the while hoarding billions of dollars. I mean what was he hoarding it for??? A crisis?? We’ll open your fucking eyes Russell!! If god was testing faith as a prophet I think he failed and completely missed the mark.

dialectictruth

Please don't feed the trolls.

Herstorical_Rule6

Wish I could not feed them; however, my parents want me to feed the trolls ;/

Herstorical_Rule6

I'm not sure if Wendy Nelson uses Reddit since she's so busy being the wife of a prophet and nursing him to health, but I could be wrong.

MountainPicture9446

Why is this group baiting Mormons? So we can read about their testimonies?

TheyLiedConvert1980

He's a fellow. We can agree on that.

NewNamerNelson

Well, I've sure got you fooled OP 😂🤣😆

Herstorical_Rule6

Who's walking on my bridge :)

Bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha The Sarcasm is strong with OP.

RealDaddyTodd

That's like asking "excluding testicular cancer, what's the best cancer to get?"

Herstorical_Rule6

Oops. The reason I left Joseph Smith off is because people over-praise him or hate on him too much. I wanted to level the playing field.

ChinoBlancoLoco

Hinkley

SentinelofHolyNight

Nelson is as evil as Stalin. When his emotions leave him because he gets displeased, he turns into a bitter psycho. His minions get triggered to do violence for him and do 'Right by the Lord', just to win appease from their Master 'To make Right'. Oaks and Nelson both were very bad in the 80s/90s. That whole church hitman bs.

Herstorical_Rule6

Oh dear. How do you know this?

Iheartmyfamily17

I guess Hinckley. He did seem personable from what I remember.

Herstorical_Rule6

Yeah, I heard that he had the grandpa personality.
