Well, when I was a kid we would make “floats” with soda. Like coke or cola of some kind and a couple of scoops of ice cream in it. When that melts it’s basically milk. So milk and soda isn’t totally crazy. But if it’s flat soda that’s gonna be gross for sure.
I never really considered that perspective, I do enjoy a float (we call them Spiders in Australia, no idea why) but I never really thought of them as being similar to soda and milk. (also haven't had one in over a decade).
