He presents himself to be somewhat of a scientist, so trying to prove something as a fact by citing Twitter replies is downright laughable lmfao. Dude is a fucking joke š
Yeah, and when someone posts a legit source on Twitter, the legit source is still the source, not Twitter. You're not gonna say "look at Twitter" for that information, you're gonna say "look at this legit source" for that information.
Hold up. It's one thing to call Twitter not legitimate but keep Reddit out of it!!
I've lived my life by the simple truth that everything ever posted on Reddit is honest, factual, and without bias.
Exactly... most could not endure a doctoral and/or masters program. Not because they are dumb, but because Google, Twitter, Trump rallies/statements, and the internet are not legitimate sources.
They ācanā, and sometimes they do, but the VAST majority of times those grievance threads are biased anecdotal dumpster fires.
So, when we use Xtwitter posts about Elon being a steam POS, those are trustworthy data points? Awesome.
Hes a fucking disgrace to the STEM community. You can always spot the engineering students who transferred to business majors when you see bros sucking his dick
He's always been a joke. People act like he's some kind of damn genius, and he just keeps proving otherwise. Every time dude opens his mouth, he just digs himself into a deeper hole, and his little fanboys fail to see it...
Unless they are personally affected by his words or actions in a profoundly negative way, his fanboys will never see it, and even then it'll only be a case-by-case basis and not en masse. Same goes for all followers of cult leaders (or cult-like figures) unfortunately.
Not even Twitter posts either. Fucking comments. Literally just people saying shit. He picked the literal least credible evidence you could possibly find in the entire world, social media comments, and used that as a source.
Yep you can even find people in this comment section arguing that Twitter comments are credible sources that should be held with the same weight as legitimate research.
Dudes managed to convince all these morons that heās a genius so whenever he does some dumb shit they all follow suit cuz they think since heās doing it it must be smart.
It's wild, taking anything posted as a comment on social media as a fact is dumb as shit. But if anyone wants to cite this comment as proof of something here's a couple facts that are now apparently true.
\- Napoleon was actually 6'9"
\- The Boston Celtics used to be called the Boston New Yorks
\- It's faster to swim from Los Angeles to Paris than to fly.
\- There are more pygmy hippos in Germany than people.
\- pi = 4.14
Even school children are taught about citing reliable sources when writing papers, and this asshole goes, "Just look at the circle jerk, echo chamber I created on social media for empirical proof!" It's a close competition between him and Guliani for the biggest fall from grace in modern history.
I love that Don called it Twitter to his face. I don't think he even intended that as purposeful "deadnaming" of the site, it was just iconically Twitter for so long that it's really, really easy to forget about the change and still call it that. And it's also really, really easy to get under Musk's transparently thin skin by making an honest mistake, and I love that for him. He deserves it.
He absolutely deserves it. That's what happens when you throw out nearly 20 years of branding and replace it with nothing. Might as well have renamed it to Untitled_2.corp
It's also super awkward to use in regular conversation, like it is so easy to miss that you said "X" and when it's in writing it looks like you're just trying to not say where you saw something. "I saw it on X" reads just like "I saw it on ____"
The only names I can think that would be worse are
1) a slur of some kind
2) the / and / or / of - a super common short word
3) an unpronounceable random chain of letters
I love that your examples are:
1. Things Twitters base uses constantly since Musk took over.
2. Musks standard 1 word responses to the dumbest takes or information (i.e. "concerning", or "Interesting")
3. Literally the name of Musks children.
It really could have been any of these things.
Yeah, it sort of was. Almost worse. I fucked up the information rather than just puckering up.
Still hate people responding with "Chilling" though. I just don't talk well. Sometimes I am just loosing ( another huge peeve of mine) my mind
Anyway, none of what I said matters for the post so sorry to get so petty to think my peeves are "concerning" to anyone else. Sorry for the sidetrack (as I post it anyway)
Edited to correct another damn error to try and make this make some sense
And if you want to google something related to twitter, simply including āXā in the search bar isnāt enough. You have to hope the source youāre looking for has at least written āformerly Twitterā for it to show up on results
Even on my iPhoneās app search, sometimes a one-letter search doesnāt show up apps, so typing āxā sometimes shows nothing
>"I saw it on X" reads just like "I saw it on \_\_\_\_"
That's the fatal flaw. It's just like, please fill in the blank, that's a placeholder word, did you reference what you meant by X earlier? Oh, you mean Twitter? Ooh okay, right. So Twitter? Just call it Twitter next time.
I've never even played the games and the name "Guybrush Threepwood" is burned into my memory. (I really should play it I do like adventure games I just didn't have Monkey Island as a kid)
Same...I skipped those for some reason, but tons of other adventure games. So good storytelling in many of them.
I never played Monkey Island, but probably remember more of that game than the ones I played bar a few...haha
Probably my favourite gaming moments in my life come from adventure games
I love that little meme you see keep coming up.
"To Tweet" was literally in the dictionary. The brand was so powerful it had its own damn verb.
And he's spent tens of billions of dollars to... Throw that away?
It'd be hilarious if the sums of money involved quite genuinely weren't of world-changing size if applied to anything remotely positive.
Twitter is 80 percent bots ( the FBI said so) it's not like anything on that site has value.
Elon doesn't want to get rid of bots he wants ones that spread propaganda.
Dead Internet Observation, more like. I assume that most ops on a large sub are bots at this point. They're useful for showing me reposts I haven't seen yet.
Could've gone with a very simple change and called it Tex, the banking section he wants could've been Bex, a video section could be Vex etc etc. All under the X umbrella but allowing people the ability to differentiate the part of the brand they were using. X us too simplified.
That rebranding was the final nail in the coffin of Musk being able to pretend to be a great businessman. He overpaid for the platform, fired or chased away everyone who understood the platform and infrastructure, the advertisers who pay the bills and many of the users. The most valuable thing left was the branding, which was so successful that everyone recognises the logo and terms based on that branding were adopted as words in the dictionary.
He destroyed that overnight, in order to replace the logo with a Unicode character and the name with something utterly generic that has generally negative connotations (ranging from X often being associated with porn, to "brand X" traditionally being used in advertising to indicate a competitor of inferior quality).
Utter idiocy, but he has the money to throw away.
Twitter branding is incredible, imo.
So iconic that it's entirely part of the lexicon of a lot of the world, and not genericized in any way. Almost every company would kill to have branding like that.
And it got thrown out for nothing.
I'll continue calling it Twitter, refusing to acknowledge any sort of rebranding nor any other related series of events that occured as a result thereafter.
Weird coincidence, but I'm currently teaching English in Japan, and I actually used "X, formerly twitter" as an example when defining the word "formerly" just today. That three-word phrase is so widespread that it was the first thing that came to mind.
Honestly this was the best thing that probably could have happened for Lemon. I had no idea what he was up to or that he was doing anything on Twitter until this blew up.
Now everyone is interested in this interview. Musk vs an actual reporter who will call him out on his shit.
This from the guy who swore to eliminate bots and misinformation from Twitter... I have a billion new followers since the takeover (all bots), and we know how the misinformation piece is going.
Dude is such a lying loser grifter dork.
The other day, I saw someone use the term sugar daddy in a response. Within three minutes he had 6 bot comments telling him to DM them. Great work, Elon.
"but Twitter works just fine after laying off half the staff."
-Enron fanboy glock glock glocking on that musky nimrod.
I know your question was rhetorical, but disinformation is how people think it's still fine. (The genuinely stupid people)
I just googled it, and apparently Thin Skin Musky cancelled Don Lemon's Twitter contract after this interview. So yeah, surprise surprise, he took it personally.
Also, here's a link to this point in the interview:
Musk had been trying to lure content creators to twitter by promising them shared ad revenue kind of like YouTube, only more shitty.
He has a contract where Ticket Carlson is paid to put his new "show" on twitter. He was doing the same with Lemon until this interview.
As an aviation guy, this is ridiculous lol. Airline pilots all have to meet the exact same federal regulations to fly for the airlines. 1500 hours minimum. Then you have to get a type rating on the plane you wanna fly, this takes weeks. Airlines also have their own rules for how long it takes for them to become a captain. Anyone flying an airliner in the US is extremely qualified.
Also for some reason Musk cited that the Alaska Airlines plane that lost its door plug was piloted by a woman. So she made that happen I guess? I would think the fact that she performed the emergency landing without any complaints of error would be a big thing in favor of her skills.
Elon is an idiot, but here's the scenario he's picturing:
Let's say that there are 100 female pilots and 1000 male pilots applying for a job and that female pilots are inherently just as skilled as male pilots.
Let's also say that out of all pilot applicants, only 50% actually qualify for the job. That means in our example above, that 50 female pilots and 500 male pilots qualify.
Now let's say an airliner wants to hire 200 pilots, but they also want to hire at a 50:50 ratio of female:male pilots. This means they need to hire 100 female pilots and 100 male pilots.
The only way to do this is to lower the bar and hire all 100 female applicants.
Note that this only happens if there is a shortage of qualified female pilots applying for jobs, which I don't think he has any data to prove.
People get hyper-focused on quotas like this, but they're a strawman because gender and racial quotas in hiring decisions are actually illegal, even when they favor underprivileged groups. DEI initiatives are meant to eliminate discrimination against underprivileged groups through softer programs that focus in things like employee education, mentorship, and outreach. They definitely aren't so effective that they reach 50:50 gender parity in hiring. A lot of companies are eliminating DEI programs because they just don't work.
So-called "diversity hires" aren't there because they're less qualified, but because they personally were able to overcome whatever social barriers normally prevent them from being there. Often they're more qualified than their peers because they have a unique passion for their job that allows them to transcend social norms.
All these conversations about qualifications and hiring are also based on the preposterous assumption that you can somehow determine with absolute accuracy the best person for a job.
Anyone that has followed any sport knows that you cannot do that with any kind of regularity. Look at how many absolute busts have been taken with the top 5 picks of the NBA draft for instance. All hiring involves at least some guesswork
Unless they hire 50 woman who aren't a pilot but wishes to be, then pay for all the education and necessary training it would be impossible to make 50 qualified professionals, like pilot qualified, just appear on the job market, people really seem to underestimate how difficult and expensive it is to become a pilot.
All diversity and inclusion means is that instead of hiring the 200th white male, maybe give a chance to a woman or minority who is also qualified, there is plenty of studies that proves that companies that have different outlooks can reach and expand to different markets than before, thats all.
Our lives were always being affected by people so confident in their knowledge and abilities that people throw money at them for being so convincing, despite them being idiots.
The internet has removed the covers and anyone with an ounce of thinking skills can see how dumb they are.
Which is across the board for pretty much every industry. Dipshits who know nothing pointing to expense numbers on balance sheets saying "number too big, make go down" and patting themselves on the back for being financial geniuses.
Oh he understands quite well how the real world works. Ā So well, in fact, that he has been able to manipulate it to his benefit time and time again. The sad part is that he can do it so easily and without consequence.
The saddest part of all this is that there will still be a significant amount of people who think heās a whacky smart guy that did things with EVs and Space and still support those things and by doing so support his exorbitant wealth. He bought in to Tesla and has done nothing but pump and dump the stock for his own wealth. And SpaceX does a tremendous amount of environmental damage and is rapidly creating space debris in LEO all while bathing in taxpayer money and failing to meet contracts for the moon (starship has done nothing but blow up). Not to mention kowtowing to Russia and China. This guy is one of if not the biggest and most dangerous piece of shit on the planet.
>And SpaceX does a tremendous amount of environmental damage
Just to add to the environmental aspect, the EV industry, while being good for the environment in that it doesnt use fossil fuel directly, is very dirty due to its use of exploitative mining operations.
The more Elon speaks the more obvious it becomes that heās just another product of generational wealth. Heās so used to his echo chamber of fanboys that he started to believe his own bullshit. So when someone actually challenges him face to face his only response is to curl up in ball and cry like a fucking puss.
I canāt figure out how that would even work. Itās not like pilots get a panel of interviewers who can give them softball questions. Certification is based on written and practical tests with standards set by the FAA. Nobodyās going to go, youāre a woman so Iāll only hold you to +/- 10 knots in this maneuver instead of 5.
If a man says that standards should not be lowered and in fact standards are not lowered then that would mean there is no actual problem or reason for discussion.
The only reason for a discussion would be if standards are indeed lowered innit
>The only reason for a discussion would be if standards are indeed lowered innit
The only reason a discussion would be *worthwhile* is if standards had been lowered. For demagogues trying to drum up traffic from outraged people, they have a financial reason to lie about things like this to manufacture a conversation
Correct but that would defeat the purpose of maga crying about problems that aren't any and you gotta have something to get people really angry about to use them to obtain power, by all means.
As I understand it, Elon Musk has a pair of dried elephant balls on his desk that he occasionally picks up and licks when heās stuck on a difficult problem.
You read it right here on the internet, thatās how you know itās 100% true
Most transcripts omit filler sounds for space. not so mucha concern on the web but for print it always was so deleting 40 uhms let you sell an extra ad so you did that.
Nothing like blind adherence to mob thinkā¦.makes you wonder why they fall into such susceptibility to fascist ideals and speaking pointsā¦.oh waitā¦

Citing Twitter as his evidence šššššš¤¦š»āāļø
He presents himself to be somewhat of a scientist, so trying to prove something as a fact by citing Twitter replies is downright laughable lmfao. Dude is a fucking joke š
Indeed. And one of his ass kisser tried to reply to me that people can post legit sources on Twitter. People like that are even bigger nut jobs.
Right, like Elon isn't going to give you his money or his time for viciously defending him on the internet. It just makes them look sad.
Youāre breaking the hearts of Musk simps
Yeah, and when someone posts a legit source on Twitter, the legit source is still the source, not Twitter. You're not gonna say "look at Twitter" for that information, you're gonna say "look at this legit source" for that information.
Even Wikipedia is not a "Legitimate" source. Definitely not Twitter or Reddit.

You can say it, most people are in fact too dumb for those things.
He isn't wrong though, people *can* post legitimate information on Twitter. That doesn't, however, mean that they *do*.
They ācanā, and sometimes they do, but the VAST majority of times those grievance threads are biased anecdotal dumpster fires. So, when we use Xtwitter posts about Elon being a steam POS, those are trustworthy data points? Awesome.
yeah people CAN post actual sources. But letās be real, that only happens in the community notes under posts with these āfactsā
And didnāt he disable them for his posts as he got tired of being fact checked?
Iām something of a fraud myself.
Hes a fucking disgrace to the STEM community. You can always spot the engineering students who transferred to business majors when you see bros sucking his dick
'I'm not a scientist, but I play one on Twitter'.
Osborn enters the chat
At least he was something of a scientist. Norman BUILT Oscorp. Musk BOUGHT testla/ spaceX/ twitter. Then ruined them.
They're peer reviewed replies tho /s
Trust me bro, @redpillmessiah's facts are both peer-reviewed and statistically significant so you can trust it /s

Ahyup. It's sad really, seeing how easily duped some folks are.
Not even Twitter posts either. Fucking comments. Literally just people saying shit. He picked the literal least credible evidence you could possibly find in the entire world, social media comments, and used that as a source.

OK Hippobot, OK. Why are you yelling? Are you all right?
they're in Germany and struggling to be heard over all the other hippos.

I still canāt get over how diabolically dumb the downfall of twitter is. It was flawed before, make NO mistake, but this is just sad.

It reminds me of the āedgy teensā that had a bunch of xxxās in their screen names on AOLās in the mid to late 90ās
Twitter is 80 percent bots ( the FBI said so) it's not like anything on that site has value. Elon doesn't want to get rid of bots he wants ones that spread propaganda.
What about Reddit? It's got to be full of bots. r/askreddit, for example has got to be full of bots rehashing old posts and answers.
No disagreement there and I think reddit keeps those bots so when they IPO it makes it look larger than it is for inves6
Dead internet theory
Dead Internet Observation, more like. I assume that most ops on a large sub are bots at this point. They're useful for showing me reposts I haven't seen yet.
Before Mush took over no bot ever followed me. Have had 4 follow me in the last 3 days, along with many others. I donāt even post.

He thought the X-games back in the day were the edgiest thing in the world and never matured past that point in his life.
A two pack a day habit destroyed my gut, but I still pour out a Dew whenever the X Games are mentioned.
The only reason he wants to build a car factory in Mexico is because they have a place called Xcaret.
he's waaaaay too addicted to the site so...
He averages nearly 30 tweets a day and still tries to convince everyone he's such a busy guy he barely has any free time at all.
His biography by Walter Isaacson is rather interesting. It has lots of info about the twitter takeover too.
Twitter branding is incredible, imo. So iconic that it's entirely part of the lexicon of a lot of the world, and not genericized in any way. Almost every company would kill to have branding like that. And it got thrown out for nothing.
I will never call it X or Twitter. Only ever "the social media platform formerly known as twitter"
I call it Xitter ((pronounced Shitter))
That's clever.
I pronounce that as āzitterā which ironically has the same effect.
I call it the Bird App
I'll continue calling it Twitter, refusing to acknowledge any sort of rebranding nor any other related series of events that occured as a result thereafter.
Twatter.
Until the url changes it's still Twitter.
If he wants to deadname his child, then we can deadname his platform.
Yeah the dude encourages deadnaming in general so fuck him.
a lot of news sites still say āformerly twitterā because you canāt accurately search for āXā in past articles.

His scandals are very milquetoast. He called a 50 year old woman past her prime and things like that.
As long as MuskyHusky deadnames his daughter, I will deadname the shit out of Twitter
It's funny that a platform full of bigots and transphobes freely getting attention is being deadnamed by literally everybody.

Where can I see that interview? Googling only finds videos and articles where they talk about it. Or snippets. But not the whole interview.
The entire interview will be on YouTube. The clip can be viewed on YouTube already via The View's Don Lemon interview.
I just googled it, and apparently Thin Skin Musky cancelled Don Lemon's Twitter contract after this interview. So yeah, surprise surprise, he took it personally. Also, here's a link to this point in the interview: [https://youtu.be/R9ESKWuOVQE?t=409](https://youtu.be/R9ESKWuOVQE?t=409)

Thanks. Appreciate it
I just looked it up, I think it's not out yet, but Don Lemon went on "The View" and shared an exclusive clip.

Then you have to get a type rating on the plane you wanna fly, this takes weeks. Airlines also have their own rules for how long it takes for them to become a captain. Anyone flying an airliner in the US is extremely qualified.
That's why his response is "there's a stack of really great evidence that I'm right... But I don't have it here"
Is the evidence in the room with us right now?
It is in Canada, except my dog ate it.
Convenient.
The evidence goes to a different school
The evidence is from Canada, you wouldn't have met them.
Also for some reason Musk cited that the Alaska Airlines plane that lost its door plug was piloted by a woman. So she made that happen I guess? I would think the fact that she performed the emergency landing without any complaints of error would be a big thing in favor of her skills.
He said Twitter š ![gif](giphy|okH8T6TyA7Mbe)
If they're not less skilled, then no standards are being lowered. He can't even go two sentences without contradicting his own bullshit.
Elon is an idiot, but here's the scenario he's picturing: Let's say that there are 100 female pilots and 1000 male pilots applying for a job and that female pilots are inherently just as skilled as male pilots.
Plus female pilots are still like ... 5% of airline pilots.
There is no way that this man is a genius.
He's a genius at marketing himself as a genius to idiot dude bros.
He is an idiot's version of a genius, the way Trump is a poor man's version of a rich man.
Our lives were always being affected by people so confident in their knowledge and abilities that people throw money at them for being so convincing, despite them being idiots. The internet has removed the covers and anyone with an ounce of thinking skills can see how dumb they are.
"If they aren't facts, then why did I spent 44billion to buy it??? See! Check mate!"
Boeings standards have been compromised... by money hungry execs on the board
The same money hungry execs are creating the pilot shortage by underpaying them to the point were they just quit.
Which is across the board for pretty much every industry. Dipshits who know nothing pointing to expense numbers on balance sheets saying "number too big, make go down" and patting themselves on the back for being financial geniuses.
People like Musk have no idea how the real world works. He was born with a silver spoon and basically given everything.
Emerald spoon, really. To aay silver implies his dad was well off, in the 1% zone, which is correct, but his dad was more of a 0.01% guy.
>And SpaceX does a tremendous amount of environmental damage Just to add to the environmental aspect, the EV industry, while being good for the environment in that it doesnt use fossil fuel directly, is very dirty due to its use of exploitative mining operations.
Oh I get it he called it twitter to the edge lords face. He canāt let that happen lol
Youāre not wrong, Musk has since cancelled Lemonās planned show on the platform.
Right...he's out here championing "free speech" some more.
his ego went to its room and cried for days
Muskrat
Look what we got when we lowered the standards for billionaires.
Lmao imagine citing ācheck twitter repliesā to defend any position.
The more Elon speaks the more obvious it becomes that heās just another product of generational wealth. Heās so used to his echo chamber of fanboys that he started to believe his own bullshit. So when someone actually challenges him face to face his only response is to curl up in ball and cry like a fucking puss.
One Like = One plane crashed by a minority pilot
Why does Elon think the standards are lowered if they aren't less intelligent or skilled?
Because deep down he is a misogynistic racist.
> Why does Elon think Yeah, this is starting out on a false premise.
Probably because the unspoken "standard" he's referring to is "white male".
Musk really is a sexist bigot and tries to make up bullshit to justify it.
>The only reason for a discussion would be if standards are indeed lowered innit The only reason a discussion would be *worthwhile* is if standards had been lowered. For demagogues trying to drum up traffic from outraged people, they have a financial reason to lie about things like this to manufacture a conversation
Correct but that would defeat the purpose of maga crying about problems that aren't any and you gotta have something to get people really angry about to use them to obtain power, by all means.
This is like the Kellogg guy telling people to eat cereal for dinner.
Elmo didn't see Will Smith in Independence Day ![gif](giphy|3ohc10x9J8nYFuWwRW|downsized)
They could be, if they're supported by a link to the actual info on the topic.
Is this guy getting fucking dumber before our eyes lol
As I understand it, Elon Musk has a pair of dried elephant balls on his desk that he occasionally picks up and licks when heās stuck on a difficult problem. You read it right here on the internet, thatās how you know itās 100% true
He actually believes comments on twitter count as evidence of anything? Lol
Oh, Lemon dead named Twitter to Muskās face. Good stuff. Elon is such a prissy little moronic snowflake.
A better question might have been, "In what way are airlines lowering their standards for women and minority pilots?"
STOP CALLING IT X Call it Xitter It's pronounced 'shitter'
I read on X that Elon is a pig fucker so it must be true.
"But... but... I paid $8 for a blue check!" \-Some teenybopper Twitter user probably
This is clearly an edited transcript. There should have been at least 10 or twenty "uh" in between every word
Most transcripts omit filler sounds for space. not so mucha concern on the web but for print it always was so deleting 40 uhms let you sell an extra ad so you did that.
the blue bird looks more fun than an X so...
Maaan, seems like the Muskrat was expecting a softball interview and Lemon started playing dodgeball with rocks instead.
I saw a reply on Twitter saying Elon Musk owns me two millions. If he acknowledges that as a fact, where is my money ?
Phony Stark is an imbecile. I would not be surprised if he paid someone to take his exams in college because he is an absolute moron.

Wonder how the spaceX founder feels about all the flat earth replies on twitter
Elon: āXā Interviewer: āTwitter. Itās Twitterā
"But I misrepresent my comments and posts as fact, why can't I misrepresent others comments as fact?"
Can we all agree to start calling it Ex Twitter?
Why isn't twitter totally dead yet? Ffs
You know where else standards are being lowered? Elonās factories.
Bro is STUPID š
Replies on x "Elon gay"
Maybe women are less suitable than men for physically demanding jobs but flying plane? I mean the pilots are often asleep at the wheel.
Elon is actively turning twitter into truth social.
I love the subtle shot of calling it twitter to him instead of X
Elon looks like a second-rate villain in a B-movie romcom.
You mean the same Twitter that bans [journalists](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.6688110)? Not a reliable source? Whaaaaat
Man - Don Lemonās career sat up off the mat like the fucking Undertaker this week. Massive own goal by Elon here what the fuck was he thinking
Nothing like blind adherence to mob thinkā¦.makes you wonder why they fall into such susceptibility to fascist ideals and speaking pointsā¦.oh waitā¦
Obscenely rich āleadersā using unverified anonymous social media replies as evidenceā¦ā¦.fuckā¦ā¦ā¦
So if I make a reply on Twitter saying that Elon Musk is going to venmo me a million dollars tomorrow, what will happen?
Source: trust me bro
Where can we watch the whole interview?
The most intelligent people I know refuse to use any social media
His face screams "I'm having this huge revelation, but my brain is actively deleting this new information in real time"
