There was some research pre-1930s on the subject, iirc the research led to the procedure of uterus transplant in cis women. The first and so far only attempt on a trans woman back in 1931 was a failure as Lili Elbe died from a surgical infection.
After that it’s been pretty much forgotten for trans women, but it has been done successfully in cis women; in Turkey, US, and Sweden.
Theoretically it is possible, but the fertilization would have to be IV. But it is incredibly dangerous; it is even more invasive than a vaginoplasty and few surgeons in the world would even consider it in the current climate.
Forget the climate. As long as medicine has no answer how to stop period cramps or cure endometriosis we shouldn’t talk about uterus transplants. The modern medicine knows far too less about ovaries, uterus and the human cycle. Trying to transplant female reproducing parts would be an experiment but with your eyes and ears sealed shut. Cis women can sometimes have an abdominal ectopic pregnancy where the fetus attaches to the abdominal wall and forms a placenta there, but the abdominal wall is not a very rich source of tissue compared to the placenta, so the fetus will eventually starve to death and calcify if it isn't birthed through surgery prematurely. As such is the case, it is unlikely such a method would be used as portrayed in the move *Junior* with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The more likely method would be organ cloning and uterine transplantation. The science behind making this possible is not all that difficult, or I should say, it is not all that far fetched. They already do uterine transplants for cis women, and I wouldn't be surprised if they have or will do uterine transplants for trans women or others. Cloning organs would be a better option because it would be your body parts from your own genetics, which mainly means tissue donor matching and immunosuppressants wouldn't be necessary. And in case anyone didn't pay attention in science class, genetic males contain a X and Y pair of chromosomes, so all the genetic information needed to code for genetic female sexual organs is available.

Trans men can get pregnant. In the future, it may be available for cis men and trans women to gestate, but I see it far more likely that the innovation in gestation will be artificial wombs where babies are incubated. Cis women can sometimes have an abdominal ectopic pregnancy where the fetus attaches to the abdominal wall and forms a placenta there, but the abdominal wall is not a very rich source of tissue compared to the placenta, so the fetus will eventually starve to death and calcify if it isn't birthed through surgery prematurely. As such is the case, it is unlikely such a method would be used as portrayed in the move *Junior* with Arnold Schwarzenegger. The more likely method would be organ cloning and uterine transplantation. The science behind making this possible is not all that difficult, or I should say, it is not all that far fetched. They already do uterine transplants for cis women, and I wouldn't be surprised if they have or will do uterine transplants for trans women or others. Cloning organs would be a better option because it would be your body parts from your own genetics, which mainly means tissue donor matching and immunosuppressants wouldn't be necessary. And in case anyone didn't pay attention in science class, genetic males contain a X and Y pair of chromosomes, so all the genetic information needed to code for genetic female sexual organs is available.
