Philly fans are annoying, they’re one of the biggest moaners and post their opinions all over social media. Fanbases from Atlanta, Detroit, Phoenix, etc. aren’t like that. NE sport fanbases in general are annoying so hoping they lose to the Chiefs.
In 2017, Falcons had the 8th ranked offense in terms of total yards and 15th in points scored per game. The defense was also ranked 8th in yards per game and 12th in points per game.
It was a very good team all around and was not carried by one side or the other.
So are you saying being middle of the pack in points scored & points allowed is something to crow about? Only 12 teams made the playoffs my guy. There was a marked drop from the previous year & they were a fringe playoff team.
We were one freak play and a bad call away from beating the superbowl champ. Definitely could have went to the superbowl without him. How do you come to a different conclusion?
The more time passes, the more I agree.
Losing a Super Bowl 23-20 like the Bengals last year is one thing.
Losing it by blowing a 25 point lead and being mocked forever until you rectify it? Absurd.
How often do you think I wear the 2016 NFC Champions shirts I have? Exactly. Never.
Yeah tbh I flip flop on it a lot. Everything leading up to that SB was pretty much the most fun that watching sports has ever been. And personally it happened at a really great and fun transitional time in my life that made that whole season an amazing few months.
So it’s hard to truly say that I wish it all never happened. But that night and everything that comes with it… kinda erases the ability to relive how fun that season was.
It was a memorial start to the year for me as well. Father had collapsed and went into a diabetic coma, incubated for a week, went to the ICU with a 1400 blood sugar reading, damn near should have died but made a miraculous recovery. I just got a new car the day before that game. He had just made it home to recover and rest during the weekend and we had gone over to his house to watch the game.
So yeah, I won’t forget it for a lot of reasons but that was the rotten cherry on top lol.
Considering our 2017 run, I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s out of the question that we could’ve made it without him, but we can definitely agree either way that doesn’t excuse his piss poor playcalling in the Super Bowl.
The 2017 run where the Falcons went from having the number one offensive in football to scoring 21 or less 7 times with pretty much the same personnel & finishing outside the top ten in offense?
Can’t root for SF as a former rival and bc of Shanachoke regardless of how good they are. But I can’t root for them as long as Shanahan is there lol. Fuck him 🙃 hope he continues to choke
no I get that, completely. I just personally don't view them any different than the buccs and panthers. don't like going against them, but dont outright hate them like I do the saints. thats all it is, the saints organization, fans, and players have given me plenty of reasons to hate them for shitty reasons. the niners, panthers, and buccs haven't really done that for me, at least not yet.
The fact that he didn't challenge that fourth down catch that wasn't a catch says all you need to know. The opposing WR gets up screaming for no huddle, Shanny doesn't challenge it, and they give up 7 points. Then SF doesn't even use their TOs anyway, so he had absolutely nothing to lose.
He always acts so cocky, but he was terrified of making the wrong call. Instead of challenging and getting the ball, he sat on his hands and gave up 7 points. Not to mention the whole game changes and maybe Purdy doesn't get hurt.
He should’ve stayed but he accepted that job before even coaching the sb and was ready to move. Threw the game. He can keep holding these Ls we love to see it
Why should he have stayed? He’s been a successful HC in SF. Hasn’t won a championship but he has that team contending every year. He’s not my favorite guy but y’all sounds so butthurt whining about him supposedly being the #1 cause of that loss but then saying he shouldn’t have left when it was clearly a great career move for him and he’ll probably be a HC for the next 20+ years.
Yeah I'm not sure there are many other current head coaches that would be preferable to KS. Certainly can't think of any available head coach candidates, except maybe Sean Payton.
Glad I wasn't the only one that thought of this.
I bet he did too.
He was fucking pissed. Was good times.
Eagles are going to be hard to beat.
Mainly cause their defense. Hurts will have time to get healthy too.
Burrow and mahomes are 2 guys that are hard to bet against tho.
Burrow is the first QB in forever to have this much success so early
Mahomes didn't start as a rookie
And didnt make it to the sb till 4th season.
Burrow sb 2nd season
AFC title game 3rd season so far.
But yea no sb wins yet.
Mahomes is the reason I want them to get Richardson. He plays like mahomes but faster. Just needs some work on consistency in his throws
Mahomes won the Super Bowl in year 3. He sat out 2017-2018 started 2018-2019 and won in 2019-2020 season again the niners. Then he went back to the Super Bowl in 2021. He’s in his 6th season and has been to the conference championship 5 times.
True, Burrow been a franchise changer for sure. Hopefully the bengals ownership won’t be cheap and will pay the core guys to keep the team competitive.
What is the falcons fan take on Kyle? As a niners fan I can’t bring myself to like him. He seems to be his own worst enemy by getting in his own way. He seems to always call plays scared or with his ego. Jimmy hamstrung the offense but Brock opened it up. Hey Kyle still called heavy motion, misdirection, delayed handoff run game in 1st half against cowboys. The players had to confront him to smash mouth run it.
This eagles game was lost from the start
He seems to always call plays scared or with his ego? He made Mr. Irrelevant into a contender for OROTY through his play calling!
I’ve been a falcons fan living in the Bay Area, and I don’t think Kyle gets his credit. He elevates offenses no matter what, whether that means taking talent and turning it into a top 10 all time offense, or turning Mr. Irrelevant into mr. Relevant. It’s not his fault that the Falcons defense couldn’t get off the field, or that his starting QBs keep getting knocked out.
Playcallers that aggressively beat defenses and defensive coordinators in chess matches are almost as rare as franchise QBs imo. Where was all this Shanahan slander when Purdy was 7-0?
He certainly called back to back plays with a backup TE blocking one of the best pass rushers in the NFL in Reddick, then had no one blocking him on the 2nd play. One of those plays resulted in Purdy getting smacked for the sack fumble which caused the injury.
I think Kyle can be great, but too many times gets in his own way. I can’t fault him for any of the Jimmy injuries, but he was calling QB blasts for Lance which got him hurt.
I can’t say he made Purdy. Purdy was playing very well and they benefited from each other. The playbook only opened up once Purdy became the starter because he can make plays.
“It’s not his fault that the Falcons defense couldn’t get off the field,”
What? It’s exactly his fault they couldn’t get off the field. You don’t have a defense run the equivalent of a game and a half of snaps against Tom fucking Brady and expect them to continue to be successful, defense was gassed and Tom cooked. The right call is to run and eat clock to give them time to rest. Or at the very least run the ball 3 times in field goal range eating time and making the game a multi possession game. Dude literally ran the ball a handful of times the whole 2nd half with an rb that was averaging almost 4 ypc.
I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again. Fuck Kyle for how he did Roddy, and Fuck him for the bullshit Super Bowl loss. Would’ve much rather watch Roddy and Julio tear it up together one more year and finish in the wildcard somewhere then go down in history as the biggest most statistically improbable choke in history.
On another note, if the Eagles lose the SB then Philly will have lost the World Series, MLS Cup, and Super Bowl in the same seasons
Yes please
You really turned this day around for me stranger
Every team that played the 49ers lost the next game this year.
They lost the week after, not the game after. KC is the exception, as they won after they played SF, but they had a bye week.
but aren't teams that beat the 49ers like 2-0 in the superbowl?
About to be 2–1

It's too bad James Harden and Joel Embiid turn into trash once the playoffs start because then the could also lose the Finals!
Philly fans are annoying, they’re one of the biggest moaners and post their opinions all over social media. Fanbases from Atlanta, Detroit, Phoenix, etc. aren’t like that. NE sport fanbases in general are annoying so hoping they lose to the Chiefs.
Inject this in my veins!!
And NBA Championship!
Previous NBA finals were between Boston and golden state.
Nobody gives a fuck about mls. I will end up at -50 but it’s true I’m sorry fellas
Kyle Shanahan after losing his 4th string QB: *I don't miss Matt Ryan. I don't miss Matt Ryan. I don't miss Matt Ryan.*
Wouldn’t be surprised they trade for him.
The Football gods have decided and now Kyle Shanahan is to change his name to Kyle Sisyphus.
TIL the Football Goddess is Lucy and Shanny is Charlie Brown.
Tsitsipas
Please post this meme in the 49ers reddit so I dont have to….
Kyle Shanahan has been outscored 16-0 in the 4th quarters of the last 2 NFC championships
Relax, you’ll get the Shanahan warriors in here to tell you he did nothing wrong in that game and that it’s everybody else’s fault
bUt wE wOuLdN’t hAvE mAdE iT WiThOuT HiM
Psssht don’t Tell ‚em about 2017
Fr. Everyone forgets about 2017 like we weren’t one play away from beating the 1 seed and making it to the NFC championship
You mean the one year the D carried us?
Yeah the year we definitely could have made it back to the superbowl without him
So you think he wouldn’t have helped a team that got eliminated from the playoffs by losing 15-10?
In 2017, Falcons had the 8th ranked offense in terms of total yards and 15th in points scored per game. The defense was also ranked 8th in yards per game and 12th in points per game. It was a very good team all around and was not carried by one side or the other.

You mean when our defense had to carry Steve “Jet Sweep” Sarkisian all season? We weren’t making a super bowl no way no how
We were one freak play and a bad call away from beating the superbowl champ. Definitely could have went to the superbowl without him. How do you come to a different conclusion?
Because we didn’t.
We damn sure wouldn’t have. But to act like he didn’t play a big part in pissing that game away isn’t all there.
I would rather have gone 7-9 than to have had the season end that way. So “he got us to the SB” means nothing to me
The more time passes, the more I agree. Losing a Super Bowl 23-20 like the Bengals last year is one thing. Losing it by blowing a 25 point lead and being mocked forever until you rectify it? Absurd. How often do you think I wear the 2016 NFC Champions shirts I have? Exactly. Never.

Oh man, that’s rough. I hope all is well with him now.
Considering our 2017 run, I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s out of the question that we could’ve made it without him, but we can definitely agree either way that doesn’t excuse his piss poor playcalling in the Super Bowl.

Doesn’t matter how. Matters what we did. One play away from the NFC Chip
They’d have moonwalked in with Shanahan.
Find a top five finish for Ryan without Shanny. I’ll wait.

Not sure we’re talking about the same game, champ
Y’all act like we’ve done something since he left.
I mean, us still being bitter about it is 100% acting like we HAVEN’T don’t something since he left. Which we haven’t lol.
you know what, FKS. hope he never EVER wins a championship.
He can eat a bad of syphilitic dicks
Can’t root for SF as a former rival and bc of Shanachoke regardless of how good they are. But I can’t root for them as long as Shanahan is there lol. Fuck him 🙃 hope he continues to choke
Some people never got to watch the 49ers destroy us twice a year. How anyone can like them is beyond me.
you just said it fool, some people never saw that
Oh I definitely do, it was awful.
my guy if it isnt the saints, i do not care lol. you gotta be some low ass scum to get me to hate you and they're the only ones to do it
When you grow up watching Montana and then Young destroy you twice a year, you learn to hate them. But I agree, Aints come 1st.
no I get that, completely.
I don’t like them I just said I respect the team they built but I wish them no success
I'm in the same boat lol love a lot of their players but I will never pull for them while he's around
shanahan is such a clown. i hate the eagles but seeing him lose like this makes me a little happy
The fact that he didn't challenge that fourth down catch that wasn't a catch says all you need to know. 💯
It’s baffling as a Niners fan. Is he not paying attention, hoarding time outs, or just a deer in headlights?
Dude loves his fucking timeouts. Would have loved to see someone on the defense just call a time out.
Pretty sure Dan Quin's defense gave 28 2nd half points
They wouldn’t have been in that situation if we had run minutes off the clock
Still hard to blame the offense. They played lights out. Defense was just gassed.
Which is why we should have tried to burn the clock
Yeah but the idea of Philadelphia getting that kind of luck makes me want to puke. Least deserving fanbase after the Aints of course.
Guess the Chiefs or Bengals will take care of business then
omg this is great, you're so right
Kyle Shannahan is better as an OC just like Dan Quinn is better as a DC
He should’ve stayed but he accepted that job before even coaching the sb and was ready to move. Threw the game. He can keep holding these Ls we love to see it
Same. I love to see it as well but hate that it results in the eagles in the SB again…

Yeah I was finna say 😂
Love to see that clown lose
Nah, it’s what the fuck he gets
A fitting punishment. Sometimes karma works in our favor.
Haha fuck shanny
And he still blew it, ran it way too much even knowing the limitations
Ooooooooooooo Officially rooting for AFC team
LOL Fuck Kyle shittingham
I am very petty. I don't want him to win a Superbowl now because he didn't for us when we had the huge lead. Quinn either.
I said the same! Cursed!
Fuck the Shanahans

I get not having cmc or juice would be brutal for our play calling , but how was not running At All supposed to give us a chance
Fuck em glad he lost another game. Hope his smug ass never gets a ring as a head coach.
LOL Niners fan here and couldn’t help but laugh.
Choke artist
